I think it's an awkward attempt to find a use for her physical unit while she exists as such on the Normandy. The only thing Dr. Eva was built for was covert combat and infiltration, so for EDI to suddenly be an unshackled AI with a vaguely human body, in an expanded world beyond the Normandy, amongst compassionate teammates, it must be a confusing thing to experience.

Sarcasm translates fine - the problem is when it's written as a flat statement and left for people to see it as such. There's nothing sarcastic about the above comment, nor will everyone see it as a joke. Some would see it as a dig at Joker or that you're calling him homophobic, or that he literally is obsessed with things being stuck up asses.
I absolutely love the not-so-subtle changes to EDI's voice as the ME3 parts go on. You can hear her originally monotonous robotic voice shift, become more nuanced, she enunciates better, and sometimes you can outright hear emotions in it. She's literally becoming a sentient mind before our very eyes after Joker unshackles her during the Collector boarding attempt, it's actually quite beautiful.

Who says that she becomes less AI? Who‘s to say that those aren‘t traits AI can have. Incidentally, there are also organics who view everything as statistics.
It's a balancing act. Organics can see nothing but statistics, and I'd bet a sufficiently advanced General Intelligence AI could see reality as entirely intangible. A perfect mixture of the two might be the most powerful outlook of life.
The fact that EDI was the rogue AI on Lunar that “woke up” and simply didn’t want to die, (in the first game) eventually became a an individual sentient being that developed a sense of humor, personality, the a physical body and fell in love, is so touching and heartwarming to me. She’s one of my favorite characters. Her relationship with Joker is so sweet.

I like the "just a little off" flavour that SHE approaching HIM gives off. A genuine imitation of typical human behaviour, as women typically don't make the first move.

Weirdly enough, it was that dialogue that convinced me to choose Destroy. The Starchild says the Reapers have no interest in war, and yet use horrifying tactics against the races they slaughter. They negotiate, and try to turn people against each other. EDI was right; the Reapers were only interested in self preservation. So my Shepard could never just give them what they wanted, even if it came at a terrible cost.

Same, mass effect and dragon age series are my favorite. I never been able to get into the world and feel so close to all the character like I can in these two series. The character development between these two was absolute next level. I love the turning point where he unshackles EDI and she in turn shows empathy and concern for his well being and comforts him and he then defends her to Miranda.
Central Intelligence Agency when taking with her she talks about how she can change pets of her body to replicate humans. She specifically talks about how she can turn her hair from strong and durable to weaker and to actually have strands like human hair.
Bothered me for a while that Shepard never gets their happy ending. But a non-tali and garrus romanced run with synthesis ending gives both Tali and Garrus, and ED-I and Joker their happy endings. And that makes me feel things.

OtomostheCrazy Sorry but I completely disagree. The synthesis is ending is BY FAR the worst one in my opnion. The way I see it Shepard’s purpose was to get every race in the galaxy to work together despits all their differences. Turning them all into the same creature goes against everything my Shepard stands for.
RickeGnool Well, firstly, in that ending, Shepherd didn’t turn everyone into the same thing, they added their synthetic/organic DNA into the system to force an evolution and physical change across the Milky Way to every organic and synthetic within, which would end the Reapers’ purpose. Secondly, I feel like it’s the best ending, as no allies perished as a result, we didn’t fall into the same standards of the Illusive Man or the Reapers (total control), and it did what a Paragon Shepherd would do: create alliances and peace, even against hostiles. The Quarians and Geth continue to work together and improve the health of the species, EDI’s understanding of organic nature isn’t wasted (and continues her relationship with Joker if that was pursued), and civilizations were both rebuilt and improved upon. I don’t see how this is the worst ending.
To me destroy wasn't an option. If you replaced the word Geth with Human, would you be willing to commit that action? It's not right to consider it any other way

I didnt even have the flu. She told me it was totally worth it. EDI and Legion are people as much as any other crew member are. Anyone who says otherwise is Blind.
I like to imagine that after the war, Joker and EDI eventually got married and had a family, but as the years went go by, she becomes practically indistinguishable to humans in her mannerisms and the way she talks. Living more as a human rather than a AI. Now I just really want to see Mom EDI with her children.
Honestly, EDI and Joker's romance is probably the most touching in the entire series to me. Even more so than whoever I choose to romance in a given playthrough. It is just so well-constructed.
EDI is far and away my favorite Mass Effect character. I love her story progression of how she slowly becomes more human and eventually says that Joker and Shepard made her feel alive. Hers is a beautiful story about what life means and whether synthetic life is the same as organic.

Man Joker is just awesome, when I met him in the first game and learned about his condition, you inmediatly start rooting for him, eventually you just want to see him win, because even with brittle bones he stood up against a collector assault and many other crazy shit, Seth Green is just a great actor in general, but this particular role is just perfect. BTW how can anyone not love the fact that Shepard wants to bang everyone in the galaxy, the thirst even extends to our trusty pilot
Loved the entire EDI story arc and I hated knowing she and the geth had to die to satisfy the destroy ending. As creepy as the synthesis ending was. It was still quite touching.

Shit. Seeing Edi hug Garrus almost made me cry. I love the cast so much.... and although Tali is my wife, it's so fitting that Vakarian was the one to put the name on. He was with you first, and will always be your best friend.
Seriously, the writing of the dialogue between Joker and EDI is top notch. I played the original trilogy back in the day and, in retrospect, haven't had a similar experience. I'm happy the remakes are coming 202 and hope they are without problems. Again: excellent performances from all these voice actors.
I also like the Renegade option for the scene where Joker and EDI are fighting over him rounding up the reports: "What is this, _high school?!_ Both of you, get back to work!" The utter, *genuine* frustration in Shepard's voice makes it better.

@@CptPhilippnes Well yes, but on a rifle of that size recoil is likely quite minimal, and the fractures are played off in-game as not a big deal, given how freely Joker is seen moving after the Collector attack, especially in ME3.

Bothered me for a while that Shepard never gets their happy ending. But a non-tali and garrus romanced run with synthesis ending gives both Tali and Garrus, and ED-I and Joker their happy endings. And that makes me feel things.

The way I see it Shepard’s purpose was to get every race in the galaxy to work together despits all their differences.
Turning them all into the same creature goes against everything my Shepard stands for.

Well, firstly, in that ending, Shepherd didn’t turn everyone into the same thing, they added their synthetic/organic DNA into the system to force an evolution and physical change across the Milky Way to every organic and synthetic within, which would end the Reapers’ purpose.
Secondly, I feel like it’s the best ending, as no allies perished as a result, we didn’t fall into the same standards of the Illusive Man or the Reapers (total control), and it did what a Paragon Shepherd would do: create alliances and peace, even against hostiles. The Quarians and Geth continue to work together and improve the health of the species, EDI’s understanding of organic nature isn’t wasted (and continues her relationship with Joker if that was pursued), and civilizations were both rebuilt and improved upon. I don’t see how this is the worst ending.
To me destroy wasn't an option. If you replaced the word Geth with Human, would you be willing to commit that action? It's not right to consider it any other way
I would have no problem with killing the Salarian and Quarians because they really annoy me (Tali, Mordin and Kirrahe are the exceptions).

I like to imagine that after the war, Joker and EDI eventually got married and had a family, but as the years went go by, she becomes practically indistinguishable to humans in her mannerisms and the way she talks. Living more as a human rather than a AI. Now I just really want to see Mom EDI with her children.

Honestly, EDI and Joker's romance is probably the most touching in the entire series to me. Even more so than whoever I choose to romance in a given playthrough. It is just so well-constructed.
EDI is far and away my favorite Mass Effect character. I love her story progression of how she slowly becomes more human and eventually says that Joker and Shepard made her feel alive. Hers is a beautiful story about what life means and whether synthetic life is the same as organic.

Man Joker is just awesome, when I met him in the first game and learned about his condition, you inmediatly start rooting for him, eventually you just want to see him win, because even with brittle bones he stood up against a collector assault and many other crazy shit, Seth Green is just a great actor in general, but this particular role is just perfect.
BTW how can anyone not love the fact that Shepard wants to bang everyone in the galaxy, the thirst even extends to our trusty pilot

Seriously, the writing of the dialogue between Joker and EDI is top notch. I played the original trilogy back in the day and, in retrospect, haven't had a similar experience. I'm happy the remakes are coming 202 and hope they are without problems. Again: excellent performances from all these voice actors.
