    Hi Tris. Great to watch you at work. It is always good to see how others tackle a problem. I shied away from using foam or polystyrene, and used cardboard foundation overlaid with plaster or plaster cloth - much more time consuming! Although the likes of Everard Junction, Mouldy Raspberry, Piccadilly and others are far above my level of modelling they are great inspiration. There are so many skills to learn and apply - engineering, electrical, carpentry, perspectives - it is not just the trains. Enjoy the hobby, and keep safe. Cheers from Australia.

    Hi Tris, great update and so glad you are enjoying you’re railway. Platform looks awesome so well done on that. I personally have used polystyrene with a foam cutter and it is so much cleaner and, as you say, so relaxing in creating a hillside from basically, throw away stuff. Look forward to more soon..regards, Chris

    Brilliant watch Tris, liking the 3D platform could do with weathering though I did think the end ramp a bit steep? Your get out there and do it advice I’m taking on board it’s all the time it takes but enjoyable. I’m toying with doing a TH-cam myself but my accent is pretty bad! Somerset or Zummerzet! Doubt I’d be understood 😂 anyway loved it keep um coming. Cheers Ade

    Nice video, Tris. The bi-level platform looks quite sharp, and the backscene was brilliant. Sadly, as I watched you putting it in, I was wondering did you counter block it to keep it from falling forward while going under. Ahhh, well. It happens and you fix and move on. Excellent work, but you know that! Cheers.

    • @OONeal
      @OONeal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Anthony, It is quite sharp isn't it. It will be ok and if I ever make a new one I can make it a little shallower.
      As for the board I went through a few emotions at the time but a nice hot air balloon can be in the spot that its got the damage.
      Thank you for following for all this time and take care!

    Another great video Tris, you make them really interesting, was wondering though why you haven’t used the area under the raised plywood and where you have just filled up with polystyrene to have some sort of track/fiddle yard there?

    • @OONeal
      @OONeal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, Thank you I'm glad you enjoy them. I had thought about using this area but it wasn't keen on it as I couldn't work out a nice way of doing it but I appreciate your suggestion.
      I always feel like I want to re design the whole railway but will stick to the current plan and once finished see what it is missing and maybe adjust in the future.

    Hi Triss. That platform really looks good. Just an aside about 3D printing: Do the CAD drawings you create work with just your 3D printer/several models/or all models? The scratch in the backscene: could you 'convert' it into a passing bird?

    Hi Trice , on the subject of backscenes I have watched yourself, Dave class 47 & Everard junction using preprinted to the likes of Penwithers, Manchester Piccadilly, which paint a background, some work other's don't, I decided to use a sky backscene only one word bloody awful it looked, more bubbles than a Area bar! If the backscene starts to work then it blends in or the rest of the layout looks wrong

    Good video! Love the exploratory nature of your modelling journey, and the care you lavish on each element. One plea, applicable to almost all the TH-cam modellers: move away from using the word ‘little’ in nearly every sentence. It is in the nature of models to be little!
