Band Maid had 3 tours in the US over the past 18 months, selling out 2000 seat theaters nationwide. I flew my family up from FL to Atlanta to see them last year. Hellava show in so many ways. This is THE rabbit hole to go down right now. With a catalog of 125+ songs, you can't go wrong.👍
I've seen Band-Maid live three times so far and they absolutely slay. I promise if they are playing anywhere remotely close to you, you won't regret the effort to see them. They love their "masters and princesses" (fans), and we love them back. Others will be along shortly to fill you in on the history of the band, so I'll leave that to them. But if you want to continue on down the pigeon hole (you'll understand the reference soon), I suggest their live performance of Dice and Hate? back-to-back at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago last year. The video director was not prepared and missed a lot of shots, but you'll see and hear the Maids in all their live glory. th-cam.com/video/a6gvg9Xg4Ao/w-d-xo.html Another good one with higher production values is the live performance of Puzzle from Tokyo Garden Theater th-cam.com/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/w-d-xo.html
As you guys pointed out them gathering around their drummer, they like to go up to her and make faces at her to try and screw her up, which never works, and instead she just makes faces back at them 😂
Just found your channel, subscribed and liked video. Domination (live) is the perfect introduction to the band as all the members have a chance to shine. Funny you mention Naruto. A couple friends of mine were into anime and introduced me to Naruto. I was a rock and metal guy with appreciation for music going all the way back to Gregorian Chants. Got out of music because the 1990's were less than satisfactory to me. When I heard the opening themes, score (Toshio Masuda) and closing themes like Rocks by Hound Dog, Haruka Kanata by Asian Kung Fu Generation and Go!!! by Flow I found new music worth listening to again. On October 21, 2022 saw Band-Maid live at Dallas House of Blues on Pigeon's (Miku) birthday. Best live show I ever saw. When you see them live, you really need to see them do a one man show. You will get the complete serving and have a blast.

@rogerchance9074 Thankee Sir. Here is the rest of that file. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their TH-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid. If you have any questions about the Ladies and their music, please feel free to ask in a video or in the comments.
I went to their Hong Kong show at the end of 2023, I ran for Kanami's side of the barrier and made myself comfortable, it was only during the pre show sound check when I realized that the "platform" in front of me were 4 large sound equipment, I spent the entire show eating each and every single one of Akane's kicks.

Welcome down this pigeon hole (you get it eventually) with us Maidiacs. Next. Puzzle Official Live Dice MV or Dice/ Hate? Live Lollapalooza From Now On MV
Just celebrated 10 years together with a celebration concert lasting over 3 hours at Yokohama Arena last year. Probably one of the best rock bands around and the unique concerts are based on the Maid Cafe culture hence why they are dressed as Maids.
Every solo show they have is an absolute display of endurance. I went to their 2022 tour, and they crushed it. Even in their intermissions, they were entertaining the crowd and having fun.
This is song 22 out of a 23 song, 2 hour plus long set, and they still perform with the same energy as at the beginning of the show. Their studio songs are great, but their live performances are extremely amazing. You can't go wrong with any of their compositions.
Band maid songs basically punch you in the face nonstop....and when they end you smile and ask for more.....their newest released single is "shambles" and is a anime ending theme. Their songs chose me was in "peacemaker" movie. Blooming OMV was featured in the netflix show "kate".... but one of my favories it "corallium live 2022 at shibuya eggman...very small venue and way up close....i saw them 5 times in 2023, which included 2 festivals (pointfest, and lollapalooza)
Welcome to the Maid universe! Here you go, it only gets better from here: Freedom (2020 live) Shamlbes (MV) Warning! (MV) Secret My Lips & Secret MAIKO Lips Dice & Hate? (2023 Lollapalooze) From Now On (MV) Blooming (MV)

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive 10 year back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and bad-ass musicians to boot. They are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. The idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
I'm actually jealous! I saw them for the first time this summer with The Warning in Roppongi, Tokyo and I'm looking forward to a chance to see them in Europe ^^
@@diosyntaxa I think they minimized travel this year because next year will probably be a lot again. I think they'll go to both Europe and North America next year and maybe some place new.
The music video Dice was my 1st Band Maid song. I saw them in October 2022 for the Pigeon's birthday. I flew from Wisconsin to Dallas, no regrets. I like the other songs that were requested too. Have fun figuring out who the Pigeon is.
Band-Maid has done quite a few Anime themes. They toured the US in the Spring and the Fall in 2023. I saw them twice. It was their 10th Anniversary Tour. They have had the same 5 band members since 2013. This is an immensely talented band that engages and interacts with their audience on many levels. You saw how they had the crowd singing along with them; this is by conscious design. This is one of the best live acts touring today.
These ladies are all masters of they're respective craft. You'll have a hard time finding anyone better at each I believe. BTW, when the guitarists are facing the drummer, they're making faces at her trying to get her to make a mistake -they have yet to do it. Someone once said she's like an atomic clock, always in time.
Band Maid is my favorite group out there. I'm 75 years old and have seen many rock bands from icons to so well known. This band has restored my love of rock with their music. They have recorded over 120 songs during their ten years together. Everyone of the five members are talented and highly professional. They are one of the tighest groups I have ever seen. I have been to two of their concerts this year in the U.S. and plan to attend more. By the way, Band Maid has been commission to write and record music for a few anime series. Some of those songs are "Sense" and "Shambles". The Maids also created their own anime video for one of their songs. That song and anime film is titled "Unleash", which is also the title of their most recent EP.
Sugoi! Mixing pop, punk, rock, and metal, BAND-MAID is currently the best rock band in the world. Saw them twice in the last 15 months. Exceptional musicianship, songwriting, and showmanship! Arigatou! 🤘🤘
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
I saw them in Charlotte last year, tiny venue downtown and they rocked it! Big or small, Band-Maid just wants to perform for their fans. Stay with them because they have no bad songs and never disappoint.
They are quite fond of touring the US, as they've been here almost every year since 2018, except during the COVID lockdown. Since they've given us so much love in recent years and kind of ignored Europe, I kind of expect them to do a European tour this year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the US in 2025. They've done headline tours combined with some major festivals, including Aftershock in 2022 and Lollapalooza in 2023. I managed to catch them in Chicago as headliners in 2022 and in St. Louis at a festival in 2023.

Hi guys ! 60 years old from France here ! You should really jump in the rabbit hole head first ! This band will put a smile on your face every time. They have a broad catalog, and they are so eclectic that it's never boring, even watching the same song in different versions. They definitely reconciled me with music ! Great reaction, subscribed ! Cheers, Laurent.
Welcome to the fandom! Best rock band in the world right now! ♥ I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
You have no idea what Maids were up to when they huddled around the drummer during the middle of the song.🤣🤣🤣 They always do that during their concerts.😉
This is what hard work and dedication to the craft get you . Band Maid like several other great bands from Japan are no joke . Band Maid for me is next level .Just another day at the office . Having seen them live they are the real deal Great reaction ty 👍👍👍👍👍
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Hey Justin and Matt, melodic and FUN hard rock at it's finest. With 10+ years and over 120 song catalog you will not be at a loss for Awesome music. Check out their latest instrumental which is a rock/metal/prog masterpiece, FROM NOW ON. You can thank me later. Peace. 2.81
Welcome guys! Keep going…the Maids will continue blowing your mind! Next - 120+ great songs. - “Shambles” - OMV - Anime closer song - “Warning” - OMV - “Puzzle” - OMV Then dozens and dozens more!! Enjoy the journey down the Pigeon Hole!! Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🌏🎸🥁🎤🎹🎶😎✌🏼
I mean they tour the US kind of regularly now a days and have opened guns’n roses in Japan sooo I mean I think catching a show wouldn’t be the hardest thing ever! I saw them live in Boston in 2022 and god it was an amazing show! Welcome new fans! All are welcome here

Best friggin band I've heard in decades and I cut my hard rock teeth on Van Halen and AC/DC as a teen in the 70s. From the jazz influence of Start Over to the heavy prog of Matchless GUM or the stadium rock of Fate. You can't miss with BAND-MAID!
Love Band Maid. U should definitely follow that trail. Large catalogue, and it's all great. I personally think that Kaname is the best lead guitarist/songwriter out there right now. I would recommend another all female rock band to u. The Warning from Mexico. They just yesterday dropped their new song/video, "Sick" yesterday. I would also recommend anything from their 2022 live show at Teatro Metropolitan. All r available from their TH-cam channel. None of these recomendations will face copyright blocks. U won't be unhappy if u do this and The Warning Army (TWA) will show 4 u in the thousands, just like The Maidiacs. Cheers.
Welcome, Justin & Matt. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 190 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Shambles, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts: ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. “P and D⁴” Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinDakaPanic810 And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21! The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
I’m jealous you get to see Band -Maid for the first time. I stumbled upon Thrill in 2018 and I was immediately intrigued. AKANE’S Drums, just wow. Then I see Kanami’s guitar solo. My jaw dropped. I fell in love instantly 🕊️❄️🍌🥷🎸
Welcome to the best band around in my opinion. Seem them 4 times including the Mexico City gig. Three ladies Rock! More please! Doesn't matter what song. Keep Rocking!!!🤟🏼✌🏻👍🏼
One of the best man (being the best subjective). Lovebites (technically impresive) and The Warning (creativilly impresive) aré there with them without fotgetting Nightwish
They did Lollapalooza - Chicago 2023, and rocked the day. Check out Dice & Hate live , see where they well and truly won the crowd , bu don't pause on transition into 2 nd song as its the transition does it.
"It freakin better be cool" fcken understatement of the century,😂 this band gents is not lightning in a bottle, these Rock Goddesses create the lightning thats goes in the bottle, the best musical journey going and the Maids are addictively charismatic, well done Roger and cheers from Australia 👍🍻🍻

Great react! welcome to the band maid familly, their last released song is for the ending of an anime called Kengan ashura, the song is SHamble very very good song very agressive sound
When the band gathers around the drummer Akane, they are making faces at her, trying to distract her and make her mess up. She never does, and sometimes makes faces back at the others.
They are really something aren't they? As musicians and audio guys I think you are really going to appreciate these ladies. Best all around band I have heard in decades. Their music can be wonderfully nostalgic yet it's fresh and innovative. The production quality of their MV's and official live MV's is outstanding. Mix is not always perfect IMO but dam if it isn't close. Enjoy the ride, I know I have!
You can't go wrong with Band-Maid, they are so talented, literally any song is of theirs is your next favorite. Although, I would suggest as a natural follow up to this video is the song 'Freedom' that is live from this same concert...Great first time reaction to the Maids who dominate.
I love watching people lose their BAND-MAID Cherry! These beautiful women have been together for over 10 years and have over 100 songs to their credit covering multiple genres quite often even on the same track. But I must admit they are best live. What to review next? From now on (mv) Dice (mv) Manners and black hole (live) Blooming (mv) Why why why (mv) But really just about anything will do.
Great reaction fella,s,these ladies are the real deal, please watch Dice, and,Hate, live at Lollapaloozq 2023,and you will see what all these posts are talking about, they are unreal.
I've seen them 3 times here since October of 2022 and it was a real blast. They are the best rock group on the planet. You have soooo much to catch up on. And they are a dish best seen live. Enjoy the ride !!!!
+130 songs in their repertoire, 9th full record coming in the early Summer, you have +40 MV's, you'll have 2 years of reactions to see if you do one a week, and I'll be here with you, Po! Always nice to see that 1st reaction, and you guys nailed it, Po! Don't worry, they like coming to 'Merika to do shows, or you can travel to Tokyo, Po! 🦍🍌
It's always fun to watch someone who knows what they're seeing and hearing! I mean, sure ... it's a gimmick but it does not matter at all as soon as you watch and listen to them. Believe it or not, they've gotten better and more self-assured since this concert in February 2020. They took the time away from touring and improved their equipment and their techniques, produced an outstanding album called "Unseen World" and then an EP called "Unleash." They will have a new album sometime in 2024. Until then *"from now on"* (opening track on Unleash).
In Japan, anime is mainstream, and they use popular artists and music for opening and closing themes. It's actually a sign of success to have your music featured in an anime. Band-maid tours outside if Japan from time to time. In fact they did back to back US tours in 2022 and 2023. Not sure when they'll tour the US again. Probably not until 2025 or 2026. They do have a new album dropping this summer though.
If you want to go see them, just pull up the Lollapaloosa concert and you'll get a taste of that. My faves are Daydreaming, Freedom and the combo live cut of Manners with Black Hole.
🐦 *Audio Lunch* 🐦 Welcome to the world of *BAND-MAID* (2013 - Present) A group of 5 young ladies from Japan that will rock your world: *Miku Kobato* (Kuruppo) = Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar *(Po!)* *Saiki Atsumi* (Sai-Chan) = Lead Vocals *Kanami Tono* (Kanamincho) = Lead Guitarist *Akane Hirose* (A-Chan) = Drummer *MISA* (MISA, MISA, MISA) = Bassist If you wish to continue down this Pigeon Hole 😊 you will enjoy over 100+ great songs you will start saying to yourself “This is my favorite *BAND-MAID* song”. _(No joke Po!)_ Below is a list of songs that will get you started *Choose Me(MV) - 2018* *Dice(MV) - 2018* *Real Existence Live - Zepp Tokyo 2018* *Blooming(MV) - 2019* *ONSET - Zepp Tokyo 2018* (instrumental) I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from: *2017-STUDIO COAST* *2018-Zepp Tokyo* *2020-LINE CUBE SHIBUYA* *2021-BAND-MAID ONLINE ACOUSTIC* In the end I realize that *BAND-MAID* more then just a band but a band that cares about each other and their fan base and in October of 2022 I had a fortune of experiencing them live and with that *BAND-MAID* cemented their Legacy into my heart. Rock On! 🤘 *100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back…*
In 2023 5 Japanese bands and 1 Korean band toured the US. All tours were successful. Band Maid has been touring the US since 2016. They have written 3 Anime signature theme songs. Band Maid performed at Lollapalooza, (invite only) becoming only the 2nd Japanese band to perform there!! Here's what Rolling Stone had to say -- Japanese Rockers Band-Maid Put Guitar Center Showoffs to Shame There’s a pun to be made about how much Band-Maid ripped, but the Japanese group goes even harder than that. Fluctuating between hard rock, aughts nu-metal, and pop rock, each member of the quintet is a virtuoso in her own right with more than a decade of practice in Band-Maid alone. They lured curious onlookers into the fold when highlights like “Domination” and “Don’t You Tell Me” got huge reactions from the crowd, but it was the bass solo-versus-guitar solo duels mid-song that got the biggest cheers. This is what those guys in Guitar Center think their ridiculous riffing sounds like. Turns out it’s done best, and most effortlessly, by women in black-and-white maid dresses and frilly hair-pieces as they smile ear to ear. -N.C.
Hey Audio Lunch, welcome to the world of Band-Maid. As you were entranced by our Bass goddess Misa, brace yourself for what will be coming ;-) See you soon with your next Band-Maid reaction !
Last year was their 10th anniversary, (still the original lineup) they finished up their anniversary tour by nearly selling out the Yokohama arena (15,000 seats). But the powers that be in the music industry here in North America seem to ignore them
"They remember me of Naruto's intro songs". Well, Band-Maid has at least 4 or 5 anime OP and EDs. Last one is their song Shambles, that it is another monster of a song.
I saw them 2019/2020 (i think) in NYC. They are incredible live. They played for almost two hours. Crazy energy the entire time. Such a cool crowd of people. It made me laugh a little seeing a bunch of big burly metal dudes head banging to four Japanese chicks absolutely shredding on stage.
Miku is falling at 5:17, that is one of her greatest skills. Falling, that is. She is said to be full of bruises. She is falling in the live Freedom video also. This time the fall was small, in Freedom it is bigger. She is kind of clumsy. But she is also very cute. And believe she is a pigeon. And is the founder of the group. And also the reason for the maid outfits. Our little pigeon is multi talented.
Lead singer Saiki once said of Miku, "We'll be walking along and next thing you you, she (Miku) is in a ditch." These girls have become the best of friends. They can joke around with each other and they all laugh, and we, right along with them.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 What I find amazing is the music video where she ran through Tokyo in her Maid uniform and high heel shoes. If anyone has TH-cam link I'd love to have it.
Japan is leading the way of reviving the hard rock/heavy metal scene & a lot of the groups are females! Band-Maid just celebrated their 10th anniversary, they have tons of awesome songs. This is just the start of a great journey for you with them. Also, try listening to other Japan groups like Nemophila(heavy metal) & Asterism(mostly instrumental heavy metal-look for the song Dawn{live version} when lead guitarist Hal-Ca was only 16 years old when it was recorded-it will blow you away!)
Hi 👋 from the UK 🇬🇧 something you might like to check out the band is called Nightwish it's a symphonic metal band from Finland 🇫🇮 with a Dutch singer floor jansen ( the vakyrie) This band has a massive following in Europe and the Internet the go to song to start your Nightwish journey down the rabbit hole that is Nightwish Nightwish ghost love score wacken open air concert 2013 official music video And prepare for the Nightwish army arriving at the door 🚪 lol 😊
One of my favorite things is watching people listen to Band-Maid for the first time.
indeed, someone even bothers to keep a playlist of all the first reactions (1300+ so far)
Agreed. 1000 percent. 😂
ikr I check everyday for new Madiacs.
Slaying the masses with love!!
The best live rock band on the planet.
Truth.
Pigeon Hole....
Po!
flew out to see them twice (2022 Philly/2023 Houston). Best 2 concerts I've ever been to! ♥
@@_JimS Yeah but they won't understand that reference yet. 👍
Kool! @rogerchance9074
As you guys pointed out them gathering around their drummer, they like to go up to her and make faces at her to try and screw her up, which never works, and instead she just makes faces back at them 😂
Our Maids always have so much fun. That's what makes them great.
Watch Puzzle, From now on, Shambles …..
Something to follow up with this band
Puzzle, yes, the latest live version will blow you away.

(Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid.
Saiki Atsumi...(Ice Queen) lead vocals
Kanami Tono...(Princess) lead guitar, composer/arranger
Miku Kobato...(Small Pigeon) rythm guitar, lyricist and founder of the band..."po"
Akane Hirose...(Gorilla) drums and leader
Misa...(Barefoot Assassin) bass
Welcome down this pigeon hole (you get it eventually) with us Maidiacs.

Even in their intermissions, they were entertaining the crowd and having fun.
bruh that 3 hour concert was hell for the bladders
I was at Yokohama. I've never been the same. Best band on the planet.
This is song 22 out of a 23 song, 2 hour plus long set, and they still perform with the same energy as at the beginning of the show. Their studio songs are great, but their live performances are extremely amazing. You can't go wrong with any of their compositions.
These guys have a really good, really deep catalogue
Band maid songs basically punch you in the face nonstop....and when they end you smile and ask for more.....their newest released single is "shambles" and is a anime ending theme. Their songs chose me was in "peacemaker" movie. Blooming OMV was featured in the netflix show "kate".... but one of my favories it "corallium live 2022 at shibuya eggman...very small venue and way up close....i saw them 5 times in 2023, which included 2 festivals (pointfest, and lollapalooza)
Now you're just trying to make us all jealous. 😣It worked! 🤘😝
Women in Japan have taken over the Rock and Metal scene
I saw Band Maid in the states last August
Was great
There is a band from Mexico also. I guess you know who!
Had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times last year... they killed every show.

Whatever you do, don't call Miku Big Pigeon. She will say, "Miku not Big Pigeon. Miku Small Pigeon."
It is a huge honor in Japan as a really pro band to be invited to write opening or closing music for a big anime. BAND MAID has performed several.
Fun fact: Jimmy Page (yes THAT Jimmy Page) caught one of their shows when he was in Tokyo and was so impressed by their drummer he asked to meet her.
I saw them live 9 times in the past 15 months here in the US, so that should tell you what I think about them.
I saw them in NY, one of the best shows I have been

The music video Dice was my 1st Band Maid song. I saw them in October 2022 for the Pigeon's birthday. I flew from Wisconsin to Dallas, no regrets. I like the other songs that were requested too. Have fun figuring out who the Pigeon is.
PO
Welcome to *BAND MAID!*
🤘😀🤘
The Warning hasn't your ear yet? Try Evolve in the 2023 Vma's

More BANDMAID! Please take a look at FREEDOM Live......
I’ve seen them twice in the U.S.. they’re fantastic.
It's only the tip of the iceberg. Best rock band on the planet. Here come the Maidiacs.
It is juste one of the best rock band today in earth ! And Misa the bass player is probably the best bass player on a rock band playing today
They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!
Welcome home!
Welcome to the fandom! Best rock band in the world right now! ♥
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
You have no idea what Maids were up to when they huddled around the drummer during the middle of the song.🤣🤣🤣
They always do that during their concerts.😉
"There's a lot going on there" ~ every Band-Maid song!
This is what hard work and dedication to the craft get you . Band Maid like several other great bands from Japan are no joke . Band Maid for me is next level .Just another day at the office . Having seen them live they are the real deal
Great reaction ty
👍👍👍👍👍
(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

Cheers.
Welcome to Band-maid ❤
Please lets do more...
MY kind of maids. ✨🥰🤘
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:
ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html
Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html
ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html
Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD.
“P and D⁴” Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinDakaPanic810
And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:
Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: th-cam.com/video/DgxU-MVjta0/w-d-xo.html

If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
[BAND-MAID NEWS]
BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo
The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album.
They were at Lollapaloosa 2023 in Chicago not long ago...
Well done Roger.👍😎
"It freakin better be cool" fcken understatement of the century,😂 this band gents is not lightning in a bottle, these Rock Goddesses create the lightning thats goes in the bottle, the best musical journey going and the Maids are addictively charismatic, well done Roger and cheers from Australia 👍🍻🍻
Welcome to the "pigeon" hole..."po"......try "Moratorium" live at zepp Tokyo....or really ANY of their over 130 songs....Shambles, is their latest....enjoy guys....its all about the smiles....you'll learn on your journey to become a true Maidiac
🤪
Congratulations on discovering the best band in the world today! Enjoy the ride!! Oh wait, a request, how about Puzzle by Band Maid.
🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
They are really something aren't they? As musicians and audio guys I think you are really going to appreciate these ladies. Best all around band I have heard in decades. Their music can be wonderfully nostalgic yet it's fresh and innovative. The production quality of their MV's and official live MV's is outstanding. Mix is not always perfect IMO but dam if it isn't close. Enjoy the ride, I know I have!
They toured the US last year. Opening for Incubus in Japan now
Roger done you a BIIIG favour. Explore Maid Rock with no regrets.
All 5 musicians in this band are pretty solid and tight! Damn!
From now on (mv)
Dice (mv)
Manners and black hole (live)
Blooming (mv)
Why why why (mv)
But really just about anything will do.
Good❗️Better❗️
The best‼️❤
It's always fun to watch someone who knows what they're seeing and hearing! I mean, sure ... it's a gimmick but it does not matter at all as soon as you watch and listen to them. Believe it or not, they've gotten better and more self-assured since this concert in February 2020. They took the time away from touring and improved their equipment and their techniques, produced an outstanding album called "Unseen World" and then an EP called "Unleash." They will have a new album sometime in 2024. Until then *"from now on"* (opening track on Unleash).
Yer gonna love this guys....strap in and prepare....these ladies are truly legit....humble, best friends and geniuses of juxtaposition
Fantastic musicians!!

The most adorable musical badasses in the universe.
Here's what Rolling Stone had to say -- Japanese Rockers Band-Maid Put Guitar Center Showoffs to Shame
There’s a pun to be made about how much Band-Maid ripped, but the Japanese group goes even harder than that. -N.C.
You are now entering into a bigger world of awesome, next level, music, with Band Maid. Wait till you hear the rest of their songs!
Tank’s ,great reaction.
Hey Audio Lunch, welcome to the world of Band-Maid.
As you were entranced by our Bass goddess Misa, brace yourself for what will be coming ;-)
See you soon with your next Band-Maid reaction !
We all know that look when we see it , its down the pigeon hole for you 2 , po!
I think this one of the best songs ever recorded
Between the Japanese bands Band Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites and of course The Warning from Mexico, women are saving rock and metal.
MISA the bass player tucks her pick to slap.
Lead singer Saiki once said of Miku, "We'll be walking along and next thing you you, she (Miku) is in a ditch."
These girls have become the best of friends. They can joke around with each other and they all laugh, and we, right along with them.
@@ChuckJansenII Yeah, a walk in the woods with Miku will be just nice and dandy until she falls. Which seems unavoidable.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 What I find amazing is the music video where she ran through Tokyo in her Maid uniform and high heel shoes. If anyone has TH-cam link I'd love to have it.
!!!Band Maid GOODISM¡¡¡ Greetings from Argentina
Japan is leading the way of reviving the hard rock/heavy metal scene & a lot of the groups are females! Band-Maid just celebrated their 10th anniversary, they have tons of awesome songs. This is just the start of a great journey for you with them. Also, try listening to other Japan groups like Nemophila(heavy metal) & Asterism(mostly instrumental heavy metal-look for the song Dawn{live version} when lead guitarist Hal-Ca was only 16 years old when it was recorded-it will blow you away!)
