Doc there are 810 reasons you could tell Belle in 30 seconds of what makes BAND-MAID great & like you know, you only have to tell her one of them to explain it : Miku Kobato.😁
>Saiki, aka the ice queen, is the main singer, a mesmerizing princess on stage, overflowing with charisma, yet she is a fan of baseball, trains (yes trains!) and sneakers. >Miku, aka the pigeon, is as tough as cute, a true excentric, poker player, horse race amateur, the extravert founder of the band, the business women in charge. She is the backing vocal for Saiki, singing complex harmonies while playing similarly complex guitar rythms backing up Kanami the lead guitar. >Kanami, aka Kanamincho, is the airhead genius composer of Band-Maid music and genius lead guitarist of the band. She has written a staggering number of hits among the 120+ songs of their musical catalog. >Misa, aka the barefeet assassin (she plays her bass barefeet on stage), is a shy genius of bass. On stage she always bring a flash of whisky with her and has beer during the interludes. >Akane, aka the Gorilla, bananas eater on stage, is the drum powerhouse, probably the happiest drummer of the world when you see her bright smile on stage. With her close friend Misa, she is forming one of the best rythm section I have ever heard. These five ladies are genuine kind people forming a family of fellow musicians, caring for their fans, always pushing themselves to new challenges and improvment. This kind of band is a rarity.
Welcome to Band-Maid from a chilly Staffordshire! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and bad-ass musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. They are so good I flew from the UK to Japan last October just to see them live. I saw four shows in nine days. They play 2+ hour sets, no support, no encores. They blew the roof of every time! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. The idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
@@tasminoben686 Greetings from the UK! It is all from her name Miku Kobato. Kobato translates to "Small Pigeon". Miku in Japanese numerology is Mi = 8 and Ku = 10. This is where Miku gets her age from. She changed her name when she started Band-Maid. Before Band-Maid her name was Mika Naguchi.
@@Davey-Boyd Please allow me to make a slight correction. Not "Mi = 8 and Ku = 10". "Miku" is a common female name among Japanese people. I will explain it correctly. In Japanese, 8='Hachi', 'Ha' (short), 10='TOH', it becomes 810='HATOH'. 'HATO' means pigeon in Japanese. Kobato means small pigeon. This is why Miku Kobato is an 810 year old pigeon. Don't even think about the fact that she was 810 years old last year too.
Kawaii Davey i was so happy for you when you said you were going to see the Maids in Japan cos i know how i would've felt if i'd been lucky enough to go :)
A smile and a tear while listening to BAND-MAID is a sure sign of a Maidiac! I've heard a lot of great music in my 62 years but no other band has affected me like BAND-MAID., my favourite artist of all time. 🤘✌
I'm only 60 but Sokoninaru & Gacharic Spin made me as happy in finding in them something that in the west has lost its way. 88Kasyo Junrei & Heilung also affected me powerfully but in different ways & Otoboke Beaver took me back to the 70s with an aggression most punk thesedays can't compete with.
@@kevinallen4743 I was buying Punk records in the 70s, and was huge into Hard Core in the early 80s, until Thrash came along and became my new passion. I chased every opportunity to see bands like MINOR THREAT, BLACK FLAG, MDC, and BAD BRAINS in tiny clubs in San Francisco, so I was thrilled when I discovered OTOBOKE BEAVER about five years and saw they were keeping the flame alive. I finally saw OTOBOKE BEAVER live last night. I can't remember when I last had so much fun. They put on a great show and created a truly unique experience.
Band-Maid is the product of five of the best talents on the planet. Band-Maid has over 120 songs, and there's not a single song that's boring. Therefore, you cannot choose the song you want to request. However, this is just my personal preference, but you should definitely check out "Dice & Hate?" at the Lollapalooza Chicago festival.
An American once said, ``Rock was born in America, grew up in England, and was perfected in Japan.'' Currently, there are many wonderful groups of various types active in Japan. Please enjoy it. For example, Love Bites, One OK Rock, and Nemophila.
Congrats RLC on discovering the best band you never knew about. Let me be the First to say that under Maidiac law you now have to react to "Don't You Tell Me" live at Yokohama next....Pleeeeze.🤗
You have just entered the Maidiac zone; only 130+ incredible compositions to to go. 10 yrs in they are the most professional yet totally rocking band I have ever seen in my 72 yrs on this orb. Saw them live last year and with all deference to Zep, Bowie, D Purp Metallica Allman Bros Bruce Petty Black Sabb etc etc. this is the BEST band I have ever seen experienced FELT. Yes you hit on it- they mix prog, punk, thrash, speed metal, acoustic ballads Belle- we all get emotional we LOVE this band. Belle- be very careful watching Daydreaming have plenty of tissues handy th-cam.com/video/RCaeUkrItyY/w-d-xo.html

You forget a song: Freedom (LIVE) ... and Alone ... and Don't you tell me (current new LIVE video) ... and Play (Live) ... and ..... ah, sorry .. I see: You had to pick just a few for a shorter list ... 😍
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Miku loves Miffy. Kanami has a vision that she has a private studio one day. Akane loves anime espesially Haikyu! Misa loves ex Smashig Pumpkin, D'arcy. Saiki loves Japanese professional baseball team, Hanshin Tigers. She also loves train too.
Don't feel bad Belle, I cried like a little girl when I first saw Endless Story video live at Yokohama, 10 year anniversary show, and it was the finale of a 3 hour show. Check it out.
This is just a small sample of what Band-Maid can do. They're destined to be legends. Keep watching their live videos. They are a live act second to none. They keep that energy level going throughout their 2+ hour shows. Their live shows include a lot of audience interaction, humor, and everyone leaves with a huge grin on their face. No one in this band "phones it in", the musicianship is always spot on and boundary pushing. The two vocalists are excellent and perfect compliments to each other. The rhythm section are the most creative pairing of bassist and drummer you'll ever witness. Their lead guitar is amazing withn unknown depths of talent; although Band-Maid composes as a group, Kanami Tono chairs that committee, Bassist MISA is second in command, and Drummer Akane Hirose fills in the percussion, and Rhythm guitarist Miku Kobato and vocalist Saiki provide their thought provoking lyrics. Kanami (Mincho) is one of the most expressive guitarists I've ever come across: she speaks through her guitar. The more you experience Band-Maid the more you will expect to be astonished. They never disappoint. Last Thanksgiving (US) I got up at 2 AM (EST) to watch their tenth anniversary tour final live stream. It was a THREE AND A HALF HOUR SHOW with never a dull moment. I'm an old guy who watched The Beatles live on television and Band-Maid is the most memorable band I have ever seen.
Oh, I've cried at the lyrics to this song quite a few times before. At my lowest point, when I doubted what I was doing with my life, and I wonder whether I should just stop dreaming, face reality and live to survive, THIS song came to me and told me what I needed to hear. Even until today, the lines that begins with "Destiny of Soul where are you?" sometimes puts me to tears, reminding me that all of us have a destiny, and even if it's so far away and I can't no longer hear it or see it, it is there. Sometimes we just have to strain ourselves to hear it once again... Sigh, I'm in tears now.... This is the first time I've ever said this, but the ones who saved me from despair and gave me hope again were really Band-Maid....... I actually owe Miku my soul....
You're not the only one they reduce to tears, trust me. Astoundingly great band. The more you dig into their catalog, the more you'll realize just how special they are. Maybe for your next reaction you can do the just-released live video of "Don't You Tell Me" from their Yokohama tour finale. They were on fire that night.
This is their energy playing the 22nd song of a 23 song set. Great rock music the way it used to be played, performed by people who love being on stage. I'm old enough to have seen Pink Floyd in a small (400 people) venue for the old money equivalent of 60p (12/-) but I've not heard many bands that have excited me musically, and grabbed me emotionally, like this band does. And they are fun!! Remember fun
I saw Pink Floyd for the second time at an awesome show in a hall holding 250 people (Farnborough Tech , Feb 1971) after previously seeing them at a disastrous Royal Albert Hall show the previous summer. Like you BM gets me more emotional than any other band I've loved and seen before.
If you like a nice cry, check out BAND-MAID's Puzzle (esp. the acoustic), Sayonakidori (esp. the acoustic), Endless Story ( Chicago House of Blues 2022).
After four years and thousands of listens to this song I still get emotional. Only 130 more songs to go! The Pigeon Hole (no rabbit here) is deep. Get comfortable, strap in and hang on because it's one glorious ride that just keeps getting better. The Maidiacs welcome you on your new found journey.
Welcome home, Princess and Master! The birth of 2 Maidiacs is always a reason to celebrate! Not to overstate it but you have found the band of your dreams. This is usually the gateway to the music of what I consider to be the greatest proper rock band currently tourin! Full stop. Youve been hit by the Gap = the cognitive dissonance between cute girls in maid attire absolutely shredding face melting music. Fans call ourselves Maidiacs while the Maids call us Masters and Princesses. They call their concerts servings. The newly minted Master said he has never been in this situation before. Shock and awe and delight are not unusual responses to their music! Oh how I envy your upcoming journey into the 120 plus catalogue of great music! They recently celebrated 10 yrs together ~ same line up! New sub here! Do a react to the new LIVE version of Don't you tell Me from the 10th anniversary concert in Yokohama!
Miku Kobato (red flower) founded the band in 2013. She was working in a Maid Cafe and came up with the idea of a band playing "cool'" music wearing maid costumes. This is called "the Gap" in Japan meaning the difference in what you are seeing, demure maid vs what you are hearing Rock Music. They were annually touring the UK and Europe prior to covid. I think they may be touring in the UK and Europe later this year. They compose and produce all of their music now. Kanami, guitar, MISA bass and Akane mainly are responsible for the music, with Miku as the main lyricist. Now Saiki, vocals is working with Miku. "Domination" lyrics were written by Miku. Worth looking up, she is a very very good lyricist.
MISA! MISA! MISA! The Japanese Female Rock & Metal Scene has blown up over the last decade and with so many people that stayed home during the pandemic looking for good entertainment, they found it with groups like Band Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, and many more!! You have a whole new world of music to explore with Japanese music!! More Band Maid Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
I've been a rock fan in all its guises for over 50 years! I discovered this band a few weeks ago and I'm totally obsessed. They have a fantastic set of videos on their youtube channel. The official live videos are best as not only are they incredibly tight when they play together, they add in little solos and extras and of course that amazing energy. I've never seen a band enjoy themselves on stage as much as these. Also worth seeing is their Omajinai time when they have a session of fun and banter with the audience, they don't have much English, but they still make it captivating!
From Japan Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. Their charm lies not only in their talent as musicians, but also in their individual wonderful personalities. It's not since the Beatles that I've loved every single member of a band. They give me comfort and hope in a chaotic and anxious world. Their brightness and energy are helping me.
It was a very enjoyable broadcast, thank you very much. People all over the world say that all of BAND-MAID's songs are great. If you like live performances, you can have fun listening to "Freedom" and "Play" together. You can also listen to the recently officially announced "Don't You Tell Me" (live) with great sound.
If you enjoyed that, you'll be blown away as BAND-MAID only gets better from here: Freedom (2020 live) Warning! (MV) Shambles (MV) Dice & Hate? (2023 Lollapalooza) Blooming (MV) From Now On (MV) Secret MAIKO Lips
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. You have only scratched the surface of the depth of the true excellence of these ladies.
well brother , i saw your face in the first 5 seconds of the video and said to myself, "he's in!" im a 60 year old boy in Tennessee and these young women are my favorite band. if you want to see a drum solo watch "Freedom" live. Akane is smiling the whole time and the drums are begging for mercy! 100 songs await you and there is not one of them you wont like. On behalf of my fellow Maidiacs, Welcome! Manners/Black Hole,,Onset live, Afterlife, From Now On (killer instrumental) ok ill stop now only 95 left HA!!!
I'm an old-er farm raised hard ass and I don't know how many times these ladies have brought tears to me. They are just so talented, demure, polite, funny, fun, so much of everything that brings me joy. The music captured me, the ladies' qualities enraptured me..
and Scandal, Toranoko Rammy, East of Eden, Hades, Bridear, Aldious, Show-Ya, Mari Hamada, Glim Spanky, TRiDENT, Paradoxx, Leopardeath, Saiseiga, LETITOUT-lelia-, SheGlapes, Whiskey Dust, Dragdown, and Nekomeshi to name a few more lol! :) Plus from Korea: Rolling Quartz, DIH, Walking After U, ClownUs.
Welcome to the fandom! Best rock band in the world right now! Seen them play twice in the past few years. They played for round 2 hours each time. Best 2 concerts I've ever been to! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, Influencer, No God (live), Real Existence (live), Onset (live) & Puzzle (live)
You know what? You’d be surprised to know that 4 years ago this was one of the videos that best showed their talent. Now, IMO, it’s been surpassed many times, in terms of awesomeness, if you can believe that. So you don’t yet know how awesome they really are! I gotta go, but I know other commenters will give you all the good next recommendations.
Great reaction to a fantastic band! I have loved Band-Maid for many years now, also seen them live a couple of times now... yes, we all have that same feeling. It is what they do! Check out more, thanks for the reaction. Ironically, you said "Peace and Love" ... Miku (the rhythm guitar player and founder of the band) has a solo song of the same title.
They get me so emotional that I got on a plane at Heathrow and flew around the world to see them. Check out the recent official live performance video of ''Don't You Tell Me'' from there ten year anniversary tour finale at Yokohama Arena Nov 26th 2023. They played a three and a half hour, 33 song tour de force with 4 MC sections. They are fabulous songwriters and musicians . There live performances are epic. Make sure you check them out when they come back here. They are due an EU/UK tour
This is excellent. You are teetering on the brink of a Rabbit Hole of epic proportions and you are unaware of it's enormity. Quite possibly ending on a runway in the months to come. There are a plethora of amazingly talented all female Japanese Rock and Metal bands. You probably haven't even seen Babymetal yet. Then there are these three girls from Mexico who are worth a listen. Enjoy
I am a proud Madiac and I loved your reaction. The fact you were emotional only cemented that for me and you have a new subscriber. I’m a Canadian but I was born in Derbyshire. 😊 I can’t wait for you to discover the rich discography that Band-Maid has. And then there are the plethora of all female Japanese bands for you to discover. Fasten up your seatbelt for the ride of your life! 😁
Real Life Couple , Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin, next song Freedom , official live video .
Yes! I'm very sure a majority of Maidiac's will say their first hearing of their songs elicit an emotional reaction. You’re among friends. Welcome to Band-Maid and their Maidiac fans! The best rock band in many a year!!
Goosebumps, water eyes, a chill up your spine are all common BAND-MAID symptoms, along with a grin that's hard to wipe off. Try the OMV for 'Shambles' for your next dose of BAND-MAID fever. Congrats on finding The Best Band In The World! They literally are The Beatles! If they were born 50 years later, on a different island, as girls. They have already been together longer than The Beatles. They are Japan's Secret Weapon. Their stated goal is World Domination through their Services, as maids, that rock. They can bring the house down, and clean it up. They have every kind of song you can think of from their many influences, Rock, Punk Funk Power Pop, Jazz, Metal, soft acoustic ballads and Traditional Japanese. Dive deep down the Pigeon Hole! But is she wants a really good cry then check out BAND-MAID's love letter to the fans during the COVID Clamp Down, a little song called, 'About Us'. It's a real tearjerker!
Best group of musicians out there male or female. The Maids are rock and roll. Check out their songs Play live and Puzzle live, they just released Don't You Tell me official live
Band-Maid are indeed awesome and up there with the very best of them but they are just one of a huge amount of all-female Japanese rock and metal bands known as “Japanese girl’s bands”. There is plenty there to be proud of, literally hundreds of young women making world class music. Check out this small sample to tempt you down the rabbit hole: TRiDENT - Spoopy Hanabie - Be The Girl Nemophila - Revive LOVEBITES - Holy War (live) Aldious - Megalomaniac (live)
Onset is an instrumental where they give Saiki their lead singer a break. Freedom they turn their drummer loose. They celebrated their 10th anniversary with a concert and dropped a new video Don't You Tell Me.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. As you’ve noticed these ladies are fabulously talented musicians and are great song writers to boot. 10 years in they already have amassed an incredibly deep catalog. Enjoy the ride with the girls. I know I have.
Freedom (live) is another feel good tune. They have so many great songs. Try finding one you don't like. Have FUN! Band-Maids genre is Band-Maid. The break the rules constantly. (or make up new ones). there are songs where the complexity gets so full that you can go back over and over and find different things. (Corallium from Eggman is a favorite. That sentence will make sense some day! )
Love to see reaction of first timers to Band Maid. I fell in love with Band Maid after the first 30 seconds just like you guys. I thought the best of rock was years past in my youth with Rush, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and so on. But what rock really needed is a woman’s touch! Best band on the planet….ever! You have so many songs to catch up on (‘Moratorium” or if you really want to tear up, acoustic ‘Puzzle’.) To be honest, just pick a song and you cannot go wrong.
I think you'll find that, in addition to wonderful music, the band members also specialize in being charming. Thanks for a genuine first-time reaction. BTW, Real Life Couple is a great channel name.
We ALL feel what you are feeling! I had the pleasure seeing them in October of 2022 in the U.S. Every song will make you smile. They bring such an amazing energy to everything they do! Another great live video is Freedom from this same concert. I think it was the song directly before Domination, and Domination was close to the end of their set. All that energy after playing over 20 songs! Enjoy the pigeon-hole!
0:20 When you "guys" said you "had never, ever heard of Band Maid", it put a big knowing grin on my face. Because I knew that you were going to have your minds blown. I've been following BM for five years now. You will get the details from all the other Maidiacs commenting here. We can all say with complete confidence, "It's ALL good, man". If I may, try some of their earlier tunes. Arcadia Girl, Daydreaming, Matchless Gum th-cam.com/video/VU05_NyA47I/w-d-xo.html (Live, of course). Now go and dive into the Gap.
Wonderful and fun reaction. I rediscovered Band Maid during the pandemic when I was lonely and depressed. I had forgot about them from several years earlier. I had exactly the reaction Belle had -- over and over as I worked through their catalog (over a hundred songs now). They saved my sanity, or at least my happiness. Later they actually came out with a song about just that. How they helped everyone during COVID. It's Unleash!!!!!. React to the MV, it's really cool). While a lot of acts stopped, Band Maid just shifted gears and brought themselves into our homes and hearts.
Epic reaction, y'all! While I have never seen anyone tear up watching Domination, I have definitely shed a few while watching/listening to About Us and Memorable. Daydreaming has been known to make my eyes wet as well! These wonderful ladies are the best hard rocking maids around! Looking forward to more!
I guess we gonna get more of the MAIDS here.... Love it!!! Your right about the MAID outfits, if you really like Drums, FREEDOM!! is the song to go. If you like BASS, go for NO-GOD, MANNERS and many.... They recently uploaded their MV for DON'T YOU TELL ME... that's a good one too.
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. Please explore them more. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
@Real Life Couple - Mark this day, your life has changed as this is just the tip of the iceberg in your journey of discovery of the epicness of Band Maid.
This is why I watch reactions. Just trying to find people that had the same reaction as I did when I first heard this band. Fantastic job to both of you. I do want to recommend the latest live video they released last week. “Don’t You Tell ME”. It’s from their biggest show today date and I think it’s all of the ladies performing at their absolute best. Especially Saiki (the lead singer).
They make my eyes squeeze out water all the time. They instantly became my favourite band of all time a couple of years ago. The thing that comes across in their music is the absolute joy they have for performing. They have a sisterly bond, and a wonderful bond with their audiences. During their 2 hour live shows, they take a couple of breaks and interact with the audience in a style that draws upon Miku's time working in a Maid Cafe in Akihabara. Here's something you can watch without spoiling any music reaction opportunity... th-cam.com/video/eEK4O6UNgfA/w-d-xo.html
Welcome to the Madiacs, guys. Lovely reaction. PO This was my first encounter with Band-Maid (2 years last week) and this song still give me goosebumps. The only band that makes me travel 5000+ miles to see live Freedom from the same consert would be my next choice.
Girl Power indeed, the Maids are the definition of it ! Almost 11 yrs and around 130 songs, the Maids are getting the recognition they deserve !!😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
21 hrs and over 7000 views! Is that a record for your channel? The root cause of this is LOVE. We love the Maids and their music. The Maids love playing live and writing great music. The Maids love each other and even hang out with each other when off duty. The Maids love us and have written 3 songs of love and appreciation to the fans. So the greatest power in the world is infused in every lick and riff and fill of BandMaid music.
Chris! 100% and we have been overwhelmed by the love and support of you all, it really does mean so so much to us :-) We have some many plans for this channel. Thank you to you all and Band Maid has 2 new fans!
Belle, you got my sub with that react... and the answer to your question is, yes, I get emotional on this and very many other Band-Maid tracks. I hope to share those feels with you on down the road with this band! Great reaction! Rock on, Belle!
Hej Couple ! Welcome to the world of Band-Maid ! Amazing to see their effect on the female part of the couple ;-) Band-Maid would be proud to be inspiring. Looking forward to mooore Band-Maid reactions !
Hello from a Maidiac in sunny Southport. This one grabbed me during lockdown 2020...girl power indeed!!! :-) I'm subbing on the promise that you guys jump straight down the 'pigeon hole'...not the empty one behind you...the rockin one with greased sides where you can't (but won't want to) escape. Tremendous band, you can't go wrong...but sooner or later, you must go to 'Freedom' from this same concert (for the happiest drummer you'll ever see). Happy Maidin'
Definitely check out their latest single "Shambles." Band-Maid is that band that'll take your breath away. Crying is okay. We've all done to their music.
They are on my top 5 of my favorite Bands of all time, and by far, my favorite concert i have ever been to in all my years. Please enjoy your journey as you listen to their art 😁 I really want to see your reaction to another all female band. - Hanabie - and their song "We love sweets". It'll be fun, promise 😉
Do you want to jump forward in time? Check out "DON'T YOU TELL ME" OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO from YOKOHAMA ARENA. They have new costumes. The video's not a week old yet!❤❤❤
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band Maid all I can say is hold on tight I have seen them live on there us tour and it's a serving you will never forgot best live band ever

We ALL feel what you're feeling!! That's what makes us all MAIDIACS!!!!! Interviewer: Maid outfits aren’t exactly rock ‘n’ roll. What is your ultimate heavy metal costume? MIKU “Now Band-Maid’s outfits are part of rock n roll, so we pick these!” Interviewer: Why should people listen to Band-Maid? MIKU - “We’re not a pop idol group! Don’t judge us on how we look. We want to blow you away with our heavy rock sound.” Interviewer: What’s the meaning of the name “BAND MAID”? Miku: I used to work at a maid cafe, and I thought “I want a band!” So it became BAND-MAID - maids in a band! Interviewer: How did BAND-MAID come together? Did any of you know each other before joining the band? Kanami: Miku was looking for members to be in BAND-MAID. I was approached to join the band, and then I brought my friend, the drummer Akane, with me. Then, Akane brought her friend, the bassist Misa. So the instrumental performers were all gathered through connections between musicians. After that, our vocalist Saiki joined through an audition.
I'm a bloke and I've teared up watching this band more than a few times. It's their dedication to a musical form I love which has almost died in the jaded (former?) west, performed as well as anyone could possibly do it. "Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello!" - yes, Kanami and the band are nodding to Nirvana, and there are so many other influences they seamlessly pull into one perfect 4 minute banger after another.
Like Davey-Boyd, I to have flown out from the UK (Scotland) to see these ladies LIVE in Japan.....They truly are a special goup of ladies....Long May They Reign!👑
@@RealLifeCoupleReact I did it twice!....Last year was their 10th Anniversary Tour..But they didn't come to the UK or even Europe. Very disappointing for many fans. So I went to see them...The first concert of the tour..at Tokyo Garden Theater in Jan..Then again in Nov for the last concert of the tour at Yokohama Arena.
It only took 30 seconds for Belle to understand everything that's great about Band-Maid! Girl power indeed!
Doc there are 810 reasons you could tell Belle in 30 seconds of what makes BAND-MAID great & like you know, you only have to tell her one of them to explain it : Miku Kobato.😁
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yup, 30 seconds is all she needs to sell you the 810 reasons 😆
@@realdocloco Haha. It's sooo true.😂

LADIES AND WOMEN NOT GIRLS !
Thanks for your comment :-)
Jedes Mal, wenn du erzählst, dass sie eine 820 Jahre alte Taube ist, muss ich schmunzeln! Grüße aus Hamburg bin😊
@@Davey-Boyd
Please allow me to make a slight correction.
@@zoob6510 Ah thanks!
Kawaii Davey i was so happy for you when you said you were going to see the Maids in Japan cos i know how i would've felt if i'd been lucky enough to go :)
Saw that song hundreth times, and taht part is still overwhelming sometimes.
A smile and a tear while listening to BAND-MAID is a sure sign of a Maidiac! I've heard a lot of great music in my 62 years but no other band has affected me like BAND-MAID., my favourite artist of all time. 🤘✌
İm 63 ,Ditto best band ever,
I'm only 60 but Sokoninaru & Gacharic Spin made me as happy in finding in them something that in the west has lost its way.

Completely agree with this. The Dice/Hate? combo from Lollapalooza is probably one of their best performances.

You forget a song: Freedom (LIVE) ... and Alone ... and Don't you tell me (current new LIVE video) ... and Play (Live) ... and ..... ah, sorry .. I see: You had to pick just a few for a shorter list ... 😍
Thank you so much for writing this out for us, we appreciate you all :-)
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band.
Thanks for your comment :-)
This is incredible, thank you for your kind words and support! Wow to have been their through Beatle mania! Much respect from the UK!
We are so happy that you're better and also here with us ❤ thank you for sharing that with us
You're not the only one they reduce to tears, trust me. Astoundingly great band. The more you dig into their catalog, the more you'll realize just how special they are. Maybe for your next reaction you can do the just-released live video of "Don't You Tell Me" from their Yokohama tour finale. They were on fire that night.
Thanks for your comment :-)
Thanks for your comment :-)

Thank you and we are now proud to be part of this! We were blown away, thank you to you all :-)
Miku Kobato (red flower) founded the band in 2013.
That's so cool, if they tour we are going ❤
MISA! MISA!

Hanabie - Be The Girl
Nemophila - Revive
LOVEBITES - Holy War (live)
Aldious - Megalomaniac (live)
Thank you so much for your comment, we can't wait to check these bands out! Thanks for being here
Onset is an instrumental where they give Saiki their lead singer a break. Freedom they turn their drummer loose. They celebrated their 10th anniversary with a concert and dropped a new video Don't You Tell Me.
Thanks for your comment :-)
@@RealLifeCoupleReact Onset is the first song I watched and when MISA tucks her pick to slap I became a Maidiac.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. As you’ve noticed these ladies are fabulously talented musicians and are great song writers to boot. 10 years in they already have amassed an incredibly deep catalog. Enjoy the ride with the girls. I know I have.
Thanks for your comment :-)
Freedom (live) is another feel good tune. They have so many great songs. Try finding one you don't like. Have FUN! Band-Maids genre is Band-Maid. The break the rules constantly. (or make up new ones). there are songs where the complexity gets so full that you can go back over and over and find different things. (Corallium from Eggman is a favorite. That sentence will make sense some day! )
Thank you for the comment! We can't wait to delve deeper! Thanks for the support

Amazing!!! We tottally agree with you! These girls are awesome and we can't wait to do lots more!!
I think you'll find that, in addition to wonderful music, the band members also specialize in being charming. Thanks for a genuine first-time reaction. BTW, Real Life Couple is a great channel name.
Thanks for your comment :-) and thanks for the kind words!
@rogerchance9074 I was at the DC show 🤘🤘
This is amazing, there's so much love for these girls! We can't wait to delve deeper, thanks for being here!
The best part is that there are no bad songs, live and recorded is all great, and they have tons of songs to check out!
Thanks for your comment :-)
0:20 When you "guys" said you "had never, ever heard of Band Maid", it put a big knowing grin on my face. Because I knew that you were going to have your minds blown.
I've been following BM for five years now. You will get the details from all the other Maidiacs commenting here. We can all say with complete confidence, "It's ALL good, man".
If I may, try some of their earlier tunes. Arcadia Girl, Daydreaming, Matchless Gum th-cam.com/video/VU05_NyA47I/w-d-xo.html (Live, of course).
Now go and dive into the Gap.
We were blown away!!!! Thank you for your kind words and we can't wait to delve, thanks for being here with us :-)
Wonderful and fun reaction.
Thank you for your kind words!
Ahh thank you so much for your comment :-) they are awesome
I tear up every time, and it's been probably 200 times now. Geez, About Us and Memorable are gonna slay her.
...especially if they get a little backstory first. And then the original MV of Nemophila "Life" with Tamu welling up will finish her off :)
Thank you so much for the kind words, we can't wait to explore more! Thanks for being here!
100% we are going to do more Maids! They have 2 new fans! Thanks for your comment :-)
Emotional? During the pandemic this watching this video lifted my spirits every single day for at least 18 months.
Thanks for your comment :-)
(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Es always. Liebe Grüße from Hamburg! Ben❤😂
Thank you so much!!!! Thanks for your comment :-)

Best live rock band on the planet
We can't wait to see to see them one day (maybe)
This is why I watch reactions. Just trying to find people that had the same reaction as I did when I first heard this band. Fantastic job to both of you.
I do want to recommend the latest live video they released last week. “Don’t You Tell ME”. It’s from their biggest show today date and I think it’s all of the ladies performing at their absolute best. Especially Saiki (the lead singer).
Thanks for your comment :-)
PO
This was my first encounter with Band-Maid (2 years last week) and this song still give me goosebumps. The only band that makes me travel 5000+ miles to see live
Freedom from the same consert would be my next choice.

Thanks for your comment :-)
Definitely check out their latest single "Shambles." Band-Maid is that band that'll take your breath away. Crying is okay. We've all done to their music.

We ALL feel what you're feeling!! That's what makes us all MAIDIACS!!!!!
Interviewer: Maid outfits aren’t exactly rock ‘n’ roll. What is your ultimate heavy metal costume?
MIKU “Now Band-Maid’s outfits are part of rock n roll, so we pick these!”
Interviewer: Why should people listen to Band-Maid?
MIKU - “We’re not a pop idol group! Don’t judge us on how we look. We want to blow you away with our heavy rock sound.”
Interviewer: What’s the meaning of the name “BAND MAID”? Miku: I used to work at a maid cafe, and I thought “I want a band!” So it became BAND-MAID - maids in a band!
Interviewer: How did BAND-MAID come together? Did any of you know each other before joining the band? Kanami: Miku was looking for members to be in BAND-MAID. I was approached to join the band, and then I brought my friend, the drummer Akane, with me. Then, Akane brought her friend, the bassist Misa. So the instrumental performers were all gathered through connections between musicians. After that, our vocalist Saiki joined through an audition.
Thanks for your comment :-)
I'm a bloke and I've teared up watching this band more than a few times. It's their dedication to a musical form I love which has almost died in the jaded (former?) west, performed as well as anyone could possibly do it. "Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello!" - yes, Kanami and the band are nodding to Nirvana, and there are so many other influences they seamlessly pull into one perfect 4 minute banger after another.
Thank you so much for the comment! They are epic!!
Like Davey-Boyd, I to have flown out from the UK (Scotland) to see these ladies LIVE in Japan.....They truly are a special goup of ladies....Long May They Reign!👑
Looks like we will be doing the same haha thank you for your kind words and for being here!
The best hard rock band today.
