Out of all Valve's other IPs, Left 4 Dead felt like the best and most natural one to make a VR game for and I really hope they do eventually return to that idea.

Some say it started off as a CS mod, i do remember playing community made L4D style mods years before L4D so i believe it, and if so i'm going to boast on that too lol. Happy to have been there! Check out the steam charts all these years later, it's crazy how starved we are for honest to God fun games.
L4D2 is one of the best coop games for sure. If not the best ever, but one that is on par with it in my opinion is Deep Rock Galactic. DRG has a similar structure of gameplay as L4D, but instead of going from point a to point b, you do objectives then go home. You should try it out with friends.
Is needing the mod running new to the current update? I last played it a version ago but the only requierment for flat crossplay was accpeting the fact the server has to be an "-insecure" server I thought? I didn't need to tell my fellow flat screen players to install anything and it worked for us as long as I hosted.
If I join my friend's dedicated server (insecure command is on for both the server and my game), I end up getting a rubberband issue where I can't move from my spot, but I can look, aim, shoot, etc. I just can't move, anyone else have this issue?
Anyone know how to change keybinds properly? Playing on the Quest 2 and I'm constantly changing weapons while walking completely ruining the experience

To run the mod you have to run with the -insecure launch parameter. This means you won't be able to join official servers. But you can host local servers without issue. Just make sure the people joining you also have the -insecure launch parameter and that should make it safe for all players

@@Skinned_fried_n_cut_up_potato dead stopping hunters is pretty difficult, but you can get it consistently with practice. You can also do it with jockeys but it's a lot harder to get consistent. It's fun to try and master it... Start a solo match, enable console, and look up with commands to spawn hunter and kill it when you get pinned :D
Probably unpopular opinion, but Left 4 dead 1 is better than left 4 dead 2, it just feels better somehow and actually felt like a horror game, meanwhile left 4 dead 2 is just pure action
Not too unpopular actually. Quite a few of the original L4D players said similar things. I guess at the end of the day it was up to what sort of game you were looking for

@@_shenanigans_8337 so long as all your friends are running the -insecure launch parameter and you're hosting a local server it'll have no issues
L4D2 is so good, 12 years later many many people still plays it like it has just released

Imagine how sick it would be if someone managed to port a few levels and enemies into a game like bonelab, or hell, just mod bonelab into being L4D2.

You should give Deep Rock Galactic a try. It's taken my top spot as best co-op game. And they're just now working on a VR mod for it as well.
Have 600 hours in the flat screen version. VR version is next on the list :D

You may need to port forward left 4 dead 2 ports. You should be able to find many guides on how to port forward

Yeah you kinda aim down sight, which is cool, but its so fast paced you're more likely to use barrel authority to tell where you're aming

Thankfully not so bad, it pulls you to a third person view when you get pounced. So it's not too scary

Wait you can shove the jumpers off of you? I just checked I have 141 hours in left for dead two.
If you time it right you can 'dead stop' them. Which is to say you bash them before the pounce animation starts

They need to get rid of having arms and just keep the hands or even just a floating gun. I can’t stand those arms flying all over the place 😅
