Solution for MINI Key Fob Not Starting Car

Although pressing down worked for about a week, I ended up having to go to the dealer and order a new key fob. I paid $160 for the key fob without the metal key, which I kept from the old key.

This was helpful, thank you, for the others who is asking how it was done, here is how: You push the key fob in to the slot and than lightly press at the fob from the top by your finger and all the system comes up to live :) sorry I didnt make video but hopefully this expanation will help you.

Dear sir.In your clip after inserting the key fob in, you mention push something down on top of it. Push what down on top of it? Could you please clarify.

Did you notice any sluggish starts before you got to this point? I was feeling kind of a fading cranking power until today. No crank, no start. I’ll give your push down method a shot. Anything to avoid another shop visit. Thanks!

That doesnt work if it does it will happen again and again just got my 2010 mini cooper s towed after 2 weeks of never knowing when it would happen again paid 525 dollers for new key was literally stuck at the dallas zoo barry a locksmith came to the zoo at 7:00 pm security at dallas zoo were soo nice i kept telling them locksmith is on the way

Tariq Salim unfortunately for me, I ended up having to get the key replaced which cost like almost $150 since the keys are only available at the Mini dealers. Luckily it was anything serious with the car at least
