i have the same problem but it won't start. indication lights like the EML BATTERY OIL and everything all turn on but can't get it to start i think it is my starter. Problems happened when i left the headlights on 1 night on multiple occasions and eventually drained my battery, got it recharged then put it back in and still no luck

My 04 john cooper works is doing the same thing and it made me wonder if it was the ignition switch going out. I watched your vid and it is the same thing. Were did you get your switch from? I am trying to order one/ get one before the switch is completely useless
I've got similar problem where airbag is on(dimmed)/rear wiper on/AC won't turn on (all Off position)/no radio when I start it up. After warm up several minutes I turn it off then back on (in Netural gear at stop), everything goes back fine. Does anyone else experience this as well?
right yesterday just had an engine mount changed (front 1) hand brake cable RH went home from MOT this morning started up fine drove fine 5 min drive came home for 10mins then went to fill up with petrol, came out car wouldnt start lights on radio works but no fire , thought it was the battery ! called a hero for jump and nothing so had to bump it. went home left the car running lights on dash were going on & off when using window they moved super slow radio going off if holding window up sat nav flicking on and off then car just stalled and wont fire !!! HELP

Okay I’m having the exact problem with my mini R56, ALL the lights come in blinker acts funny , my car will randomly lag in gears. Was this just a ignition problem? Also how much did it cost to fix labor and all?
All the world almost drive on the Europe side and use km, cm,mm, liters ,etc . Only few countrys that use antique mesurments and drive on bad side of route. Thats why the right hand steeringwheel cars , go down in price like crazy.

+Kevin Alexander Alvarez The solution to my issue was the ignition switch. $80, 10 minute install. Very simple, very easy to do yourself.

Mine just wouldn’t start on the last turn. It was like the immoboliser was kicking in. Replaced the ignition switch. All sorted.

Might be something to do with the fact that your steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Yep, same issue I had. I replaced the ignition switch and it fixed my issue.
I had the same problem with my mini cooper s 2006 . Once the key is in , all the electrics work perfectly , but won't start please help me .....

Does the dash light? When you turn the key, does it make any noises like it's trying to start but can't?
@@InnocentPaperclip I got it fixed the problem was the wiring harness. $135 and they repaired the clutch pedal.

It took me 20 minutes to replace it. It was the ignition switch.

Charles DeFilippo I replaced the electric ignition switch and it solved the issue immediately. Needed no programming and took maybe 15 minutes
looking into that now. went through car and mechanically looks okay. Thanks!
