I wish Lady Macbeth hadn’t be marketed as a retelling because I think if that was the goal it was a complete failure. But I totally agree that it was mostly just coasting on vibes and Ava Reid’s beautiful prose. If I had gone into it without keeping the original in the back of my mind I think I would’ve liked it a lot more
Every time you drop a new video, it makes my day! So many good books. The Spellshop, Academy for Liars, and Ink Blood Sister Scribes is on my TBR. I’m kind of on the fence about T.Kingfisher after I heard from folks online that she made some unsavory comments about the women who accused Neil Gaiman.
I'm just starting Leviathan Wakes ... I'm 182 pages into the first book and I'm completely hooked. Funny enough I was able to get the last book, new from Amazon, in hardback for $8.00. I just happened to come across it being offered for 80% off. I know it'll take me a long time to get there, but you cant' beat that price. Thanks for the overview on the last two :)
Fantastic and brilliant month of reading 📖 lovely young lady you have hit it out of the park prayers and blessings for you and your family love ❤️ your Aussie family friend John xx
I read Leviathan Wakes because of your recommendation. It was good but haven't felt the urge to continue the series at the moment. And I just have some apprehension to super long series. However, I made the mistake of reading their latest release, The Mercy of Gods. It was amazing! And now I have to live with my poor life choices and wait for the next one.
What a great reading month! I also read A Sorceress Comes To Call, The God of The Woods, and The Spellshop recently and had pretty much the same thoughts as you on all of them! Belladonna was fun too, and there are lots of others here that I want to read 😊
Glad you enjoyed ink blood sister scribe unfortunately i didn't I read 10 books in October My favorite reads The violence by delilah s dawson a dystopian thriller Glitterland by alexis hall i think you might want to check these out
I haven't read The God of the Woods yet, but I recently had the pleasure of meeting Liz Moore at a book festival and got my book signed by her. It was so fun listening to the lore behind the story, and I can't wait to read it soon. I also picked up Belladona at the book festival since you and others have said such good things about the series, so I'm excited for that 🥰

After one of your wrap ups my tbr grows a lot lol, i need to prune it a bit or start reading the ones in my tbr instead of new ones.
Love the "prune" ❤❤❤❤
Loved The Spellshop. It was exactly what I needed to get me back into a good reading streak after a really stressful Fall. Such a sweet little book!

Okay, besides the point, but I love that sweater and almost got it from Madewell but thought it would be too itchy….is it?

Hot take but I didn’t like the God of the Woods at all. I rated it 2.5 stars. I found it slow and very boring.
