You won't believe how bad that smell was. Never did find the reason, but we had to drive with windows open to get the smell out. We had incents going for next few days 😆
@kevinmott6205 Yes, I grew up in east London, my school was near jonny knights slaughter house, near canning town E16 so I knew the smell. It was raining when we stopped and went to sleep. As soon as the rain stopped the smell came. Yuk
@@Roadshome Yes the smell never completely goes away, excessive rainfall seems to kick start the smell process, there is an old landfill site down here in the Chudleigh area of Devon that suffers from the same problem, can go for months even years with little or no smell then a deluge of rain over several days seems to start it all up again.
Yes both park ups were air fields built and used by USA for ww2 Kind of slobbering when you think how many feet went along that path, flew out and never came back.
I drove through Bridgewater this morning, on my way to Watchet to visit a radio museum. Marvel at these old buildings and towns while they are still around because their future fate is uncertain, heading towards global conflict and dystopia.
Some of the people still remembered sioux and her friends from school. Amazing seams she moved away when she was about 7 years old. Some of them cars fate may also be doomed 😳 classics used to pride and joy. Not no more since the loons took control.
@Roadshome wow , shame its arched mate , be worth a fortune if it had standard arches . Always wanted a lotus twin cam , they will rev to 10k rpm tuned properly on 45's , they had twin 40's standard . Some car in its day . I had a mk1 Mexico RS for a while and a mk1 with a vauxhall red top 16v on dellorto 45's on a 5 speed Sierra box , lsd , 5 link axle , turreted and gusseted , seam welded , that car was a beast tbh .

@@Roadshome Was it you Mark that said it could be a dead animal? Not a nice smell at all. 🤢

They used it for animal waste landfill during Mad Cow disease. Great boost for any future crop growth but smells awful.
So we were right ,when we said it smelt like rotting meat.

Looked like a runway to me but all I know of that airfield is that it was built by the Americans for the RAF in WW2
