- This why you should stick to fiberglass instead of Polyurethane, when cold out it fits just perfect, but with heat it expands and lip starts to sag, this is a Vicrez bumper and i have other friends that have KBD and experiencing the same issue.

Oh where to begin. These bumpers use the same install points and brackets as stock. On your car u have aftermarket crash bar with no impact foam, which supports the center of a polyurethane bumper to keep it in shape. Also didn't see a under tray which helps support the center section. Not exactly a fair review if its not installed correctly
i have other friends who kept all those parts on their cars and got the same problem, hey feel free to buy one and see it yourself.
Most OE car manufacturers like Ford and GM use polyurethane bumper covers on their Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, and classic Trans Ams and none of those polyurethane bumpers have this issue. And they are in fact, polyurethane. My 91 Trans am still shines even after some guy in a pickup truck accidentally backed his tow hitch into my front (Polyurethane) nose. It basically just put a little line scuff in the plastic bumper.
@@norz3399 I'm just going out on a limb here... and taking a wild guess that you applied way too much heat to that bumper somehow more than normal. Was this a warranty video?
He probably didn't even cure them in sun. Just threw on out the box
your supposed to heat it up after unboxing it so it goes back to its factory shape and that paint chipping is from bad surface prep

running kbd. zero issues. cant speak for vicrez. kbd its sturdy enough to support itself and heat wouldn't cause it to sink or sag. i live in socal so heat is a norm. make sure you have the styrofoam or center reinforcement for the bumper and you're fine. but it looks like the paint is chipping because you didnt prep it, and at least show how you bolted it up. seems like you might've done it haphazardly then blamed the company.
I’ve painted mine 4 times two by experienced body shops the bumper lip is dropping severely and paint comes of in areas that are flexing even though we used flex agents in paint. After sanding the bumper down 3 times am also not happy. Prep I spent hours prepping scribing Ajax in our shower then spraying adhesive primer to enhance the paint to stick. We sanded to bumper. The only way to keep the lip up is to attach a metal support from the frame to support the lip. What’s funny is the ad photo for my bumper show the lip bowing and it only gets worse. It may be strong but it heavier than OEM and it doesn’t hold its shape as stated. If you have to add support then the product should say that. I tried heat guns to get it back only made it worse. It sat in sun for weeks to regain shape it never did. So maybe the style you have is more forgiving. However I have tried more than I’m willing to any longer. I purchased a bumper that is primed and made like OEM it should be here and day I’ll use that.

@@ibu4aday they have to have adhesion promoter as well as agents to allow it to be more flexible in the paint you obviously didn't go to a good-enough shop because if you did they could have painted it with a good enough paint so that didn't happen

I see no undertray and someone didnt put adhesion promoter on the bumper it’s plastic moves and bends so it needs the help so the paint doesn’t break and chip

Polyurethane parts should be thicker than what kbd is getting away with. I have painted and installed urethane bumpers that never deforms or sag because it’s high quality. I choose high quality urethane over fiberglass
Funny because I have a Duraflex I’m thinking about going to Vicrez with haha
Dura fits amazing accept where the bumper tabs go they always cut it like 1” too short. This is my second one for the Z and 3 tabs are always off the bumper unless I shove it too far in and it doesn’t line up with the hood.
Other than that the duraflex/ED bumper is awesome

Duraflex i threw in the trash it’s like China cracked before I even installed . Drove all the way to the warehouse to pick up . One thing it paints much better than polyurethane. The urethan bumper has to to have special flex agents added to paint or the paint will flake off. The bumper is heavier than duraflex and virtually indestructible.

Been rockin the visres and never looked back.

no. this is not Durash*t lol, stay away from anything Polyurethane
U probably not having issues or moved onto another bumper but make sure u tell ur painter if they know how to prep/paint polyurethane I got my bumper painted it cracked and peeled soo easily got I repainted by someone else and soo far no issues
ive had both and fiberglass sucks it breaks with anything and fitment is horrible kbd producs are great never had a problem with them at all and where i live is really really hot most of the year

So I got a email from KBD and they are replacing the bumper to my surprise. I didn’t expect to hear back from them after I wrote my last email🤪. I guess I’m going to give it another chance. The last guys that painted it had 50 years experience but didn’t use the correct primer or something it’s only coming off toward the lip and it’s flaking off in chunks.
Been watching vids on here being prepped and painted and seems like you need to use a flexible sealer so it don't flake in chunks. Got to make sure I do mine that way when I invest in KBD
They sent you a bumper just for it chipping paint ?
Then again mine bows down in middle . The only way to fix it to build a support to keep it straight. Mine is KBD and they won’t do crap

I have a kbd bumper and I been having the same issue with it sagging. I will primer it and let it dry in the sun to come back and finding cracks line . Bumper dose not hold its shape, will keep sagging even after paint. After paint the paint will chip off because the bumper will keep on sagging to the point that it will show crack line. About to give up on this trash kbd bumper. Bumper should not be sagging at all. That just show you that bumper won't hold it self together. Been in the automotive industry for over 15 years.
Kbd and vicrez use the same mold and technique. Used to be the same people. Vicrez gets a little wavey on hot temp, but if you do the holes right and have the bar, you are good to go. The one you took off is not kbd or vicrez, they dont crack like that. When painting, make sure you use adhesive. This video is so misleading. Created for views?
