- 240SX KBD Polyurethane Body Kit Unboxing: Ever seen a whole body kit fit in a box 1/3 the size of a bumper? What about side skirts folded in half?😳
Today the KT Crew opens up our new bodykits, courtesy of KBD #partsthatfit! Unlike most body kits which are built from FRP aka fiberglass, KBD body kits are injection molded from polyurethane. Polyurethane is similar to the ABS plastic that many OEM bumpers are made from. It's durable, flexible and generally doesn't crack or break: an ideal option for the hard-wearing body panels of drift cars!
Thanks to KBD for supporting grassroots drivers like us, in all honesty these kits will probably outlast our chassis haha, but hopefully we won't prove how durable they are in crashes right away...😂

eXite Video Magazine they can do it if you want to try it! I checked with my contact and evidently they’ve shipped a couple 350Z kits over in the past.👍

jacob reichard thank you! Yeah, I think kouki pieces are being planned! Injection molds are pretty complex and expensive though so I’m sure it takes a while🐢❤️
I appreciate the vid bro, quick question I’m looking at getting a navan either KBD or OEM navan front for my s14 (similar price range - oem is clean but not perfect). Having seen the quality which would you go with if you were in my position? P.s. I don’t drift it
Jaygoesin To be fair I haven’t compared the two products personally, but from looking at our S-chassis parts I don’t think you can go wrong with a KBD product. Fitment and quality is👌
IMHO the biggest challenge is mounting: polyurethane is flexible and indestructible, but it’s also significantly thicker and heavier than FRP and as far as I can tell, more flexible than ABS. So you have to put a little thought into mounting a bumper to ensure it won’t sag under its own weight in some spots. If you’re having a shop do it or have some basic DIY skills I don’t think it will be a problem, but I for sure can’t mount a poly front S13 bumper by 4 bolts in the center like I do my FRP one.

I didn't know you could order a bumper with no turn signal lights. How did you order that option on their website?
crimsonskye thanks for the comment, good question. I actually ordered from Irving directly and found out about the option from him. I don’t know if it’s listed on their site but I’m sure if you contact them you can ask what options are available for a given bumper, if any✌🏻

Do they go to normal shape just by the sun or is it the heat that does it. I have a side skirt to mount but it’s winter
It’s mostly the heat. Bring them inside, if you have a sliding door you can set them by it when the sunlight is shining in. You don’t have to cook em but they unfold pretty easily in the summer 👍🏻
What turn signals were used with the gp bumper?
Complexpanda I honestly don’t remember at this point what was used. That said, I’m pretty sure they’ll fit the type x ones, everything is cut to fit on bodykits anyway 🤷🏻♂️
You have to put them in the heat or a heater for hour till open up
409- Phine for sure! It was a cool day when we opened them but they’ve all unfolded and look great! Ben mounted his but I just got my car back together and haven’t started on bodywork yet😅
How long did it take to get your kit after ordering?
2jzrob got my tracking number in about a week and arrived 3 or 4 days later! Generally Injection molding components are quick to run when the machine is set up for that part, but if you catch them off rotation and have to wait for a few other parts to roll thru it can take a while. You can always ask KBD when they are gearing up to do a part run if you want to time your order for fast shipping. 👌

Cars Simplified yeah, KBD has a fair bit of savings to offer on shipping! Their stuff is bulletproof unless you drag it across the ground for quite a while. Impact damage is almost non-existent 😅

The same way you would for an FRP bumper...make a hole, bolt them in and wire them up?? 🤔

Yudi 0312 they’re about half the size of an S13 side skirt if I had to guess. A little over 1/3 the size of an S13 front bumper. I don’t have measurements offhand but hope that helps😅
i left my sideskirts out for like 2days amd they are still bacon
Weird, mine look good 🤔 They exposed to enough heat or is it cold where they are. IIRC the temperature is a factor
