I'm glad you really enjoyed the song. vocalist Vocalist David Draiman from Disturbed explainded explained the song's meaning: "Basically, 'The Vengeful One' is the personification of The Destroyer, the Angel of Death, Gabriel, or the Hand of God looking over humanity," he said. "In the song, it's the End of Days. Things are getting worse, and we're becoming more destructive. The media is playing everyone against one another and baiting the entire world. It's judgment day. This is that entity's voice speaking and passing judgment." Disturbed's "The Guy" mascot. "The Guy is the embodiment of the Archangel Gabriel the Destroyer," Draiman explained to Artist Direct.
This "The Guy" Avatar character has been feature in different music videos from Disturbed. You had a close analogy but in the end is all the same, and you are still correct.
The Vengeful One is one of my favorites songs. I use a list for my jog routine, keeps me hype. I've a few recommendations in case you want to do reactions to them. I mostly, listen to Disturb, Skillet, and Kamelot. I do listen to different bands like Black Veil Brides, Eurythmics, Evanescence, Motionless in White, Linking Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars, In This Moment, LG, New Years Day, etc ...but my favorite song picks are limited on these bands; From Skillet - "Feel Invisible", "Not Gonna Die", "Hero", "Awake And Alive", "Monster", "Anchor". From Disturbed - "The Vengeful One", "Sound Of Silence", "Down With The Sickness", "Inside The Fire". From Kamelot - "Liar Liar", "Sacrimony", "My Confession", "The Haunting", "Phantom Divine", "Insomnia", "Amnesiac", "Soul Society".
I'm sure I am forgetting some from the back of my head right now. :P I saw that you did a few reactions to some of these, so I have to check them out. Remember that we all have the right to interpret what we believe and have our own opinions be heard. This is your channel and we loved the content you're making for us. If some people don't like the way you paused the video to do commentary then fuck them. Either adapt or get out. This is your channel, Fable. Not theirs. Keep up the good work. The Dark Messiah depicted in this video is actually the bands mascot if i can call it that. Is named The Guy. You will see it on most of their album covers and on almost all their merch. And in a lot of videos.
Is a song about how media is used to manipulate the masses and they show the people just part of all the stories, the parts that keep us fearing others and keep us apart and fuel the hate for each other so that the corporations and the ones owning the world can keep on reaping profit from all of us through war, propaganda, hate and so on. Loved your taking on the song and the video.
For me Disturbed are the gods of music, my all time fav band. I love seeing your reactions to them cause you listen to the message and speak of it. Amazing reaction. Thank you man.
yep "the guy" seems f***ing awesome.
The Guy kind of has a double role in this video, he's the band mascot but in this video he's also meant to represent the archangel Gabriel sent to deliver God's judgement and vengeance on the evil ones corrupting the world. He's the Hand of God passing judgement on the wicked in the End of Days when humanity has hit its lowest, and leaves after destroying that evil and restoring the world to it's more humane natural state.
A fine reaction. No need to say sorry for the interruptions, this song in particular has so much message, you just must talk about it.
Also liked that Ball of Cameras shaped like a "virus", the root to poison the minds of humanity. "Because the Apocalypse must be televised".
As Draiman explained, this had nothing to do with "fake news" or anything like this. They criticize the atmosphere of hysteria and fear the media constructs and then reap the profits of it.
This was a risky song, as not many bands would survive such a stand against "the media".

I honestly can't believe Disturbed got away with making this music video. The lyrics alone are a pretty nice smack of reality, but this video serves as one hell of a red pill. Anyways, good on you for not bending to the comment section nazis. Constructive criticism is great, but there's a big difference between that and trying to micromanage someone else's videos. Now that you have been introduced to The Vengeful One. You should react to the Disturbed cover of Land of Confusion. Originally done by Genesis. It's another one of those covers that is better than the original. At least that's my opinion if it.

Do I sometimes, watching your videos, groan and think, "Oh ffs, is he seriously pausing _again?"_ Sure. 90% of the time, by the end of the epic, ranty, thought-provoking social commentary to result, do I end up thinking, "I'm glad he paused there to say that!"? Hell yeah I do.
You do you, man. Almost sixty thousand people so far seem to think it's worth watching. You can't please everyone.
Actually, when I used to produce a TH-cam channel, my advice to my client was always "If you're not pissing somebody off, you're not saying anything worth anyone's time." There are lots of reactors who just bob their heads, pause exactly X number of times because they think that's what keeps the copyright demons away, apologizing for it the whole time, and let people giggle as they relive their own nostalgia. Not that many add meaningful commentary, not just about the music itself, but about what the music is _saying,_ why it's relevant to the time and place in which it was made.

Also... David Draymon (sp?) Is Jewish. His vocal training started as a child with the intention that he would sing the necessary parts of Jewish religious ceremonies. If you listen to his music he has alot of religious terminology. I'm not very religious, but I feel like it adds weight to the lyrics.

I don't mind the pausing, because you're making good observations. I'm not religious, but the Bible is pretty explicit that the arrival of the messiah will not be peaceful or serene. I think the imagery of the father pushing the little girl away was subtle compared to a lot of the other visuals, but particularly brilliant nonetheless. Anyone with a shred of humanity finds that downright revolting.
This video has deep meaning
Strong message about basically good versus evil. The good comes across as maniacal and evil when in reality the good is destroying all that corrupts us. All that feeds the hatred. All the fuels our division. "I'm the hand of God. I'm the dark Messiah. I'm the chosen one". It's telling you to look at yourself. What kind of person are you. Clean up your sht or the vengeful entity is coming for you
The woman who is actually a proper human: hope is now dead. She most likely represented hope. Hope is dead and humanity has lost it's way.

You paused quite a bit of times but I like the fact that you didn’t spend a minute talking during every pause. Just mention what you felt about a lyric or visual and started to play the video again right away. Nice reaction
Also, you keep doing you man n don't be apologetic bout it or do less of bc of criticism. The pausing and breaking down of the lyrics and or vid meaning is what sets you apart from alot of the other guys only head banging or non-substantive comments.
