    My mother used to garden almost daily after her retirement. She had 7 acres to play with, she monitored all of her plants and moved many of them repeatdly. I'd joke with her and claim some of the plants had traveled more miles on her property than I had in the US in my entire life. I helped her a lot and all of the planting and replanting never bothered me because my Mom had goals in mind and achieving them made her happy. I think helping my mom back then really prepped me for Marc's channel. I actually admire how tenacious he is and how focused he is on achieving his goals. When I was younger and well off I liked an open floor plan but after a divorce my job was abolished and a I suffered a real dip in income. I worked 3 jobs for several years just to provide for my son and I. I really do appreciate how one can save money by being able to close off rooms and only heat the rooms as needed. I'm a retired senior living below poverty level, not easy but doable because I am very frugal and know how to accomplish a lot with very little. I love this channel channel. ❤

    You`re always at your happiest when you have a plan. I`m much the same as you but considerably older and my home will never be finished. I love moving stuff about and I`m always happy with the result....for a while.😂 Wishing you the very best as always.

    Lucky you are getting rain. We had the least rain last year for over 40 years. Our Reservoirs are at under 30% capacity in South Aus. Great re-use of those meat trays. I must have been yelling louder than I thought "Take the blasted door off!!" 😂😂I love it when your plans come together! 😂😂

    Hopefully I’m one of your tribe Marc. I get your humour. Even though I never move my furniture, I’m glad you do. Makes life interesting. I love your kitchen units too. Whatever you put your mind to, you do well. I knew those units would fit in that space. ❤

      Hi Marc. Think I might be one of your viewers that maybe sounded negative, never meant it like that. Love your house, maybe I'm bit old fashioned, loved it as it originally was , but appreciate it needed making comfortable and to your taste. We built a stunning, ultra modern house & after 10 years living in luxury we e moved into an old, Spanish Casita maintaining most of it's originality. So Marc, never intended to be negative, you just carry on doing your thing & like someone said you'll get there. From now on I'm with you all the way 😂❤😂

    Oh Marc you are almost back to where you started. it is February soon and before you know it will be spring and weather will change. I honestly think before you start to move all the electrics I would rethink this idea of changing bedroom and dividing up the house into very small spaces with doors everywhere leading to small spaces. Take time out I really think you can come up with a better solution.

    Follow your plan Marc, don't let the noise affect you. If you like small rooms, make them small. If you like them medium, make them medium. If like you like an open space, just open the space. The cat is young, can be crazy but he add life, he seems funny :-) Salute from Potton QC

    Hi mark, what do you think about putting the door and window across to the cubard under stairs which would mean you can have the kitchen between lounge bedroom like it used to be but would be longer to where you have just put the storage shelves, the blue cupboard could go back to the lounge , so basically kitchen from outside bathroom door to storage door, and sink where it used to be ta dah ! Lol just an idea mark, I know you questioned whether you should put new door and window where you have or across other way decisions decisions 🤔. Take care.x

    • @yt-GoingSolo
      @yt-GoingSolo  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I did think of building the wall with the window how you described. I felt that the 'corridor was too narrow outside the bedroom door (less than 4 feet) and I wanted two doors between my bed and my kitchen. 🙂

    wasn't there a sink in your bedroom. Couldn't you put your sink back there. And make your kitchen a rectangular shape

    • @yt-GoingSolo
      @yt-GoingSolo  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There was no drainage for that sink. There was just a whole in the exterior wall with a piece of pipe. The sink would just drain in to the front garden. 🙂
