    I too am Bama born ( Decatur ) and now live near the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. I enjoy your vids and what you said is so true, once that hook is in the water you never know what's going to grab it. I heard you mention military service and again I too served in the Army, 75th Rangers. Bama boys learn how to hunt and fish at an early age and are proud to serve their country. Just subscribed to your channel. Keep 'em coming and thanks.

    THANK YOU;
    I have shore fished off the far Northern California coast for years but due to the crap that is happening in California, my entire family is moving to Florida and look forward to fish the gulf coast area.
    The fishing is much diff. in the warmer waters of the gulf than the cold water on the Calif. / Oregon coast. The main fish I usually caught off a beach with sand crabs was Red Tail Perch and they taste fantastic.
    I know you’re not off the Florida coast but still in the gulf and your information on what you use is of big help.
    Thanks again and may God Bless
    PS: I will be looking for a boat when I get moved. Can you do something on what is a good boat for the gulf?
    thanks

  • @dimap81
    @dimap81 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Could you please explain how you chose the spot to fish? It looks like water around you were pretty featureless, and those things that they say about reading the surf did not apply. Was it by water color, meaning dark vs relatively light? Thanks!

    • @BamaSaltwater
      @BamaSaltwater  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's mainly by water shade and wave swell. You can tell a sandbar (aside from water color/shade) by the waves breaking and rolling, then nothing , then breaking again at the beach.

    Hey Bama what pliers are best to use in your opinion?

    • @BamaSaltwater
      @BamaSaltwater  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally think there isn't a "really good" pair of saltwater pliers. Every one I've handled (a lot) all seem to have one weakness or another, but I personally have on my boat (aside from my Van Staal Pliers that were a gift) a Pair of Rapala Needle nose pliers: amzn.to/3DGAdES
      Have a can of WD 40 handy every week or so, I coat them nice and good and keep them freely moving.
      Also, these hook Removers are my absolute favorite: amzn.to/3x5FvXQ
