I have to tell you….Although I do love to fish, I’m not usually particularly interested in watching others do so. Your honesty, humbleness, skill and most of all your respect for what you catch make you a pleasure to watch. I believe that even if you had a channel that showed nothing but you shoveling horse manure you’d still receive the love you do on this channel. It’s more about you than the content. (Although I do give you kudos for your content as well.)You seem like a very nice guy and it’s not luck that you do as well as you do. Keep it up. You’re a pleasure to watch.

You know what's great about your videos? I feel like we're out on the beach hanging out and catching some stud blues together in the sun. I'm actually just sitting at my desk avoiding work, but you have the ability to let people just mentally get away for a while and relax. I asked my wife for one of your sweatshirts for my birthday. I'll let you know next week if she came through!

Great videos! I'm 77 & learned a trick from my Mom about blues. She told me to fillet them & soak them in milk for 1 hour plus, if it's very large. I recall watching the oil rise to the surface of the milk. Sweetest fish fillet I ever ate! My dad & I used to catch 20+ lb. blues off shore from Stone Harbor, NJ. Lived in Ocean City, NJ-now in south AL.

I think it's fantastic that you can share pure fishing adventures with your mom. I enjoy all of your videos that I have seen. Take care God bless both of you. Art from San Antonio Texas ✝️😃🐟

One last comment. One year I was catching a lot of blues and not much of anything else. For a few days for some reason. They are oily. Put some fillets in a glass baking dish. 350. Check them every couple minutes and pour off the liquid. When there done rendering or a little before then take them out to cool and make something like a tuna fish salad with the blue meat. Fresh and delicious!

really late to the party here however I do hope you get a chance to see this. When you have a sand flea take a knife and just poke a very small hole at the back side where the shell is there is a small tringle looking area that you can poke into with out going all the way through. this will allow you to put the hook through with a little more security and will not dull your hook as much as if you were to just push it through the shell.

You do use expensive tackle. I have a Shimano SSG 7000 rear drag saltwater reel that I love. It is huge with 14 drag washers. I use Offshore Angler Ocean Master graphite 11’ and 12’ rods I’ve used for 30 years now. I put 20 lb. blue Yo-Zuri braid on it backed with 20 lb. mono. It’s the first rear drag I’ve ever used in the surf. It caught a lot of fish! I collect and restore vintage surf spinning reels with 175 reels in my collection. Those were very nice blues. Great video!

If you've ever bought 'bay scallops' from a seafood counter, you've eaten stingray. Bluefish is an ideal fish to keep if you grind your own chum and freeze it in small plastic tubs.

Haven’t fished with any thing like fish bights in years. Didn’t get any action on them but it is nice for tipping a tender piece of shrimp with that 3ozs. Know you aren’t fishing “on credit”.pick up some flounder strips or something leather like next time I go to store. I am not a beginner. But I am in the market for some new gear. I think even veterans and definitely beginners really appreciate all the descriptions of your gear and specifics on stuff like hooks. I hope it helps,Worth a sub & like from me.

I was in Orissa, in East India, and the kids were fishing from the beach with lines wrapped around bottles. Some kids caught a ray and they were hopping around so I gave them my leatherman penknife, thinking they they would get the hook out and put it back. They snapped the poisonous spines off it and took it to eat.
