With Marauders and King Crabs I almost always build for the torso mounts. They're higher than the cockpit so you can hit anything you can see and, with practice, hit things that you can't. I haven't picked up a Blight yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
You are my favorite MWO youtuber by such a huge margin Baradul. I'm super glad you're mixing MWO back into your uploads. Keep doing what you do comrade. Hope to meet you in game one day. -Smaffles
Love the Blight...I'm running it with 5x AC/2 + 2x ER-M + TCOMP 1 and about 1000 ammo...doing more kills and often also more damage with it than with my 8x AC/2 Fafnir Juggernaut because of the nicer convergence....you don't shoot a broadside as wide as a barndoor ^^ same downside like the Scattershot Shadow Hawk tho: the extreme flashing of the muzzles while shooting is not suited for epileptic people, can throw your aim off if you're not accustomed to it
With the current light mech meta, you might wish that you had invested those speed tweak or range nodes into velocity and torso twist speed and pitch, but thx for explaining your ideas behind nodes. Always helpful to new players.
That's probably fine if you're running other weapons that generate heat. If it's just the HGR you're running the ghost heat from the 3rd probably is negligible
Maybe if the Marauder II could actually equip double heavy Gauss. Unfortunately there is no variant in the game with a ballistic hard point on each side torso.
@@DavidPontbriand-ys6kh I don't play MWO anymore but the 4L and AL would fit the bill. You don't necessarily need them on the torso and when they're on the arm, you simply torso twist accordingly.
@@MisterNi you can “not” fit Heavy Gauss in arms on any mech. You can only mount them in torso. Marauder II does not have a variant in the game with a left torso ballistic and a right torso ballistic.
@@DavidPontbriand-ys6kh Then toss in a snub nosed PPC instead. It's not a big deal that weapons have to be in the torso, so long as you torso twist appropriately.
@@MisterNi I don’t think your understanding. You can’t fit double heavy Gauss in a Marauder II. That is all I am saying. You commented to put double heavy Gauss in a Marauder II instead of the regular Marauder. Literally has nothing to do with torso twisting. YOU CAN’T FIT IT IN THE MECH.
Advanced zoom buys me nothing on this mech unless I am using a dual regular or light gauss. Heavy gauss on this one doesn't work for me. Now a pair of RAC5 with 3 HMG is just nasty! 5 AC2 is actually pretty fun I have found.
Thanks for the build Bara! Always enjoy seeing your takes on a Marauder. Think you might take the Marauder IIC legend, the Dreadnought, for a spin sometime?
How in the kentucky fried Diamond Shark does a 75 tonner mount TWO heavy gauss rifles xD "How much "fuck you" do you want in your mech?" *Yes* Also, I fail to understand why, in MWO, gauss weapons are short range weapons. Is it because of the tendency to brawl or something else?
@@Khazandar heavier projectile and shorter barrels so not enough sparky bits to drive the mass relative to the lighter types. They are basically SB that dont fragment
As someone else said it is only the heavy gauss that is close range. and the heavy gauss has a really short optimum range but it has a really long maximum range so it can still do normal gauss damage up to about 400 to 500 meters iirc.
double Gauss are always deadly, but i dont use this build because of the Waste of all the nice unused hardpoints. For this build i would suggest the Thanatos. Same Tonage, same high Hardpoints. But its just mho.
I LOVE! The marauder, but this legendary was a massive disappointment. Maybe one day we will get a really cool marauder 2 legendary that will not be terrible like every other chassis in that series.
Marauders, Warhammers, Locust actually look like war machines. All of the asymmetrical humanoid types are kinda silly, no one would ever design like that
My 'head canon' is that since the pilots use neurohelmets to help subconsciously manage things like balance and movement, the closer the 'mechs move to real humans, the more intuitive the connection. So a humanoid 'mech would be more natural to pilot than having to imagine yourself moving around like a velociraptor. I know that's not really reflected in the rules or anything, but it's how I explained it to my RPG group (who knows little about BattleTech) when they asked why their robots all looked like Iron Man. It worked for us! 😅
You need to learn teamwork more than you need to learn the map. That catapult was aggressive and taking most of the attention off you allowing you to hit hard but instead of covering him you turned and left him without any communication. But hey as long as you get the damage and killing blows. This type of selfish play really makes me wonder why i follow you 🙄
I actually like putting a couple skill points into torso pitch angle for mechs like this. Not being able to get a shot from high ground is a bummer
not being able to blast the flea whose eating your butt is also a bummer.
I also invest into torso pitch for builds with torso only weapons. It makes a huge difference if you can afford the skill points.
While I don't play anymore, I am so glad I can wake up to Daily Doses again :)
Holy crap, that Night Gyr from the last game did 1250 dmg.
I like how the skill tree looks nowadays. It was right around its introduction that I stopped playing. Love a boomstick build!
07:20 Poor Brizna in his Javelin. :-D

Glad you finally did the blight. I was struggling with finding a build as you saw on your latest stream. I'm going to try this one out.
I Love the Design of the Marauder
It feels weird not to put weapons in the arms, though. They're just (very cool looking) clubs now.
I used to run 3 gaus on another mech, would cycle up the 3rd as i was shooting first 2, made for a nasty double punch.
That's probably fine if you're running other weapons that generate heat. If it's just the HGR you're running the ghost heat from the 3rd probably is negligible
MWO Content! Thanks for showing off the build!
I was super disappointed in the Blight. I haven't tried the dual heavy gauss, but that's not my favorite weapon system. Glad you got it to work.
Interesting build. I think the Heavy Gauss would work better on the Marauder II instead. Also, good video Bara. 🙂

Another great video thanks
Thank you again for another McWhorter online video

Glory to Baradul :-)
Notice how the Night Gyr at the end had nearly 2x as much damage as you with his HAG30s which weigh 5T less each than a H-Gauss...
Because clantech is much, much more powerful than spheroid tech.
@@Crazymoniker Hey j@ck@ss, it's a computer game. It has to be balanced between the two factions or everyone would just play one faction.
My build!😂 I am sure you make it work, in mi case was just a fun experiment ...I change it for regular gauss and light ppc

Catapult pilots are either LRM cowards or "DRIVE ME CLOSER I WANT TO KICK THEM!". That one in the second game was just a relentless madman.
Two Rac 5 and three light mg might be perfect nice
That last fight was great

The marauder is actually quite a good mech and can do some good builds.
@@LavaDa1shi The marauder is fantastic and I love the bounty hunter hero. It's the marauder II I'm not a big fan of.
I've always hated the new Marauders with the side-mounted guns. But seeing the twin mounts like that looks AMAZING.

That Night Gyr had two Gauss Rifles too. Luckily Bara pulled it off

Wrong, all those feeble symmetrical mechs are inferior and they cannot even dream of matching the great Corsair, the perfect war machine.
Agreed, except for certain light mechs, I could definitely see a Commando type mech getting made.
If I may ask, why not a light engine and a bit more speed or armor?
Try
2UAC20 (chain fire the same group)
2ML
3LMG
Video hast even started yet, yet i can only say...oh Boy....
glad you rendered the fafnir obsolete
It does not, since the fafnir has ecm more ammo can carry more weapons like medium pulse with the gauss and has better quirks.
👍
Woohooo!
So sad, there's no ECM slot. It would so nice to stick some stealth armor on it
lol, totally broken hardpoints arent enough?
Bring a thanatos friend along :D
