2nd game "Suut is getting all the kills here". Lol I thought you took them all from me 🙂. Great game we had there. Good team work. You were a bit too fast me though. Keep up the content man.
This Charger has become one of my favorite light mechs. I do the all ER Small laser build. I've got more cooling instead of the TC. First time I took it out was kind of as a joke. I goofed and wound up WAY out of position and got killed right away, but I still did 300 damage before I went down. So, I kept at it. I can get 8 or 9 hundred in it pretty often. And one time 1200. It's such a fun mech, and sniping with small lasers at 700m is just silly :D
Ran a squad with Canopus Cat and someone else a few nights ago, just 3 Charger 1A1's with 7 small lasers each, and we would just wait until main enemy force was engaged by the team, position to flank from the rear and all 3 of us would YOLO into the center of the enemy group. The insane part is it worked almost every time. We'd deal a bunch of damage and hard focus 2-3 Mechs one by one before we would die and in the ensuing chaos of the charge, the enemy team would be so disorganized and distracted from 3 CHARGERS running full steam into the fray, that the rest of our team would just annihilate them while they were focused on us. It was both hilarious and oddly viable. You just can't ignore 3 Chargers each dealing 50+ DPS
Just getting into the charger, was playing off meta with ppc's and medium lasers. Now I'm satisfied with 3 er large and 4 er small, the er small go out to 720 meters with the quirks... It's bonkers! And generate 0 heat! All while waltzing through the battlefield going 95 kph 😂
What I love about this ‘Mech is that it’s NOT overpowered, but it’s still fun and can do lots of damage if left unchecked. I pray that they don’t nerf it into the ground, it would be so sad if they did… Edit: I got my first Ace of Spades in this ‘Mech not that long ago!
The issue has nothing to do with servers - people restart their game because the loading takes too long - you notice they often come back into the game after 1-2 minutes. Long loading times can be solved with deleting the Cache folder under C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Shaders\ I had the same issue where i often barely made it into the match before it started and i got a modern gaming pc with an NVME SSD.
Do you need to delete the shaders before every match, or just before every session? On Solaris City I often get stuck on the map loading page for ages, but not all the time. It doesn't seem to be consistent
I love this build on this mech, one of my favourites. Have only ever run into the situation where i couldn't get it to cool off once and that resulted in 1700 damage. Whole enemy team pushed most of our team and they weren't shooting at me. I just held the fir button down as they were so tightly packed i couldn't miss
Very impressive. Fast, solid armor... and with the cooldown cut to only 1/3 of normal, with pinpoint accuracy and such a short burn time, this thing's DPS and ability to pierce components is incredible.
its a ton of fun. I routinely get 1000 damage games in it. Though I cut the targeting computer for a beagle active probe and more double heat sinks so I can fire nearly indefinitely.
@@westcoastwarriorsarchive7929 I just throw all the dissapation and half the heat gen skill nodes at this build. 22 Sustained DPS on a 95 kmh assault mech is insane.
@@XKS99 its also really fun when someone overheats themselves while fighting you and you can just tell that behind their screen they're panicking while the small lasers eat their side torso
I hated the Charger because it seemed like a bad mech on paper but youve absolutely stomped with this build and it's making me want to try it for myself!
A Charger 1A1 with nothing but small lasers as weapons-just as Mech Jesus intended! Edit - 15:05 Also, I see Baradul killed someone named MaudDibUsul. Looks like the Lisan Al Gaib is no match for the Laser Al Gaib.
the charger lore video almost made me skip this mech when someone recommended it to me. Since the 1a1 was only decent because there was nothing else left. But then I looked at the quirks and decided I had to try it.
Drop the engine to Light 390, swap the FF for Light FF (drop 3 points of armor), and you can fit an extra heatsink and the Mk 8 Targeting Computer. This will raise the total of alpha strikes before overheating by around 24 for practically no cost(Still runs 90.1 KPH w/ Speed Tweak). Primarily, this is also to ensure that even if your L-AMS is constantly firing, heat is never an issue.
With my charger 1a1 I have 2 binary lasers and 5 small lasers, it has long range alpha and short range DPS, versatile build with 360 light and 9 extra heat sinks
While I do run mine with ERSLs I also run an ERPPC in the right arm instead of the TC, so that I can deal with UAVs and have some firepower on the approach.
I've been playing with a build very similar to this for a few days now.. I am not exaggerating when I say that 70% of my games have been 1k+. 7 small lasers sounds awful, but the quirks really push them over the edge. Not only is their optimal range pushed to a whopping 305m, but they're doing more DPS each than a medium x-pulse laser, at 1/4 the cooling and no HSL. Yea, getting in can be hard, and with the peekaboo meta it can be difficult to find your moment, but when you do.. Not much is going to beat me in a stand-up fight, and anything fast enough to run from me isn't tough enough to last that long. It's not a perfect mech, but man is it strong when played to it's strengths.
Oh and I run this with two binaries and the rest smalls. I like the combo of some firepower at range, and the bigger alpha helps if anyone strays too close.
Actual Charger Lore: So much armor and speed it had only small lasers; all five IS great houses declared it almost useless until it was all they had left. MWO Charger Lore: "1022 damage with Small Lasers and only five kills? I can do better next time."
I recently bought this one too but I run er smalls and a butt load of heatsinks instead. I'm still amazed at how well it does on most maps *edit* Yeah I've been a disconnect on Solaris City a few times. It just hangs on the map loading screen. Eventually you get in, but you might be dead by then
Believe it or not it is not as much as a meme as everyone makes it out to be. It's a giant distraction mech when you need armor, with incredibly low battle value with the small lasers. While it is a bit pricy, picture fighting a clan lance with higher battle value. You can throw multiple Chargers at the same battle value of a Timberwolf and it takes only a couple of alpha strikes to core out the rear of most mechs. The clan equivalent is the Gargoyle. Both are great mechs and they make much more sense when battle value is a concern.
Wow, this BattleMech looks…really good. It has a good amount of speed, a good amount of armor (as evidenced by how long you lasted in close-quarters combat in the first game), and surprising damage output. The only statistic where it appears to fall short is effective range. The Charger's lore says that the 'Mech was a failure at its launch because it always had need for more armament than it could carry, but this is a game, and the developers may feel obligated to balance it. This has undoubtedly led to the team devoting time toward alleviating the 'Mech's supposed weaknesses.
I have pumped 6 to 7 full bursts of 8 Med X-Pulses into the Torso of a Urbie. I dealt less then half the lasers dmg due to it moving even though my x-hairs are leading him and the laser animation having all of them hitting the Urbie directly. Lights are broken right now and not registering dmg while moving properly.
@@lukek1219one way to boost dps is to mix in large x-pulses, but I find the way fhe small lasers deliver their damage in bursts is just so much easier to use that I typically just stick with the all SL loadout. Bottom line small fast moving targets are hard to hit with x pulses.
It's a DPS build and has all the range in the world. You wasted tonage on that computer, and it's a hot mech. It has no cooldown time between shots, so it gets hot fast, so go all heatsinks and all speed baby. Max the engine, and if u want range do the ERs, the cooldown difference is negligible, but u get that same range without blowing 5 or more tons on a computer. Spend it on cooling, your going to need it. It's a light mech, so go do light mech things, and find the snipers or lurm boats and absolutely wreck them.

I was on the other team, felt like we got utterly flattened by the flank 😅
