I recognise the audio quality wasn’t it’s finest in this discussion, and it was noticed in post-production. I could either scrap the video or publish and hope you come along on the ride and tolerate. Thanks to those who persisted 🙏
I really enjoyed the upload. Jordan is a great guest, and his battle report videos are solid. I just started collecting AoS models with the Abraxia box because damnit it just looks too cool. I’ll be sure to tune in and listen to more episodes while spending the next month painting all these Frank Frazetta inspired turbo cavalry units 😂
STD Is also going to have some good play with the nurgle regiment. You can put Blight Kings into the Gaunt summoner, and the harbinger combines well with all the offensive control score abilities we have with our artifacts and heroics l. I think there's a control score-based build there somewhere. Putting the conquerors crown on a Lord on manticore marked for -1 to wound seems like an effective way to use a bunch of models that seem less useful at first glance. The obvious army of using the cavalry and such is obviously better The primary way but this is another fun option I see for those of us that own those models. I also see an option to run a list around the unlimited spell we have. Take the coven of thrix and the lore with the mirror to maximize your casting bonuses, take the gaunt summoner to throw 20 warriors with the -1 to wound forward to take the place of power to set up your castle. You can definitely get the ability to throw out 12 to 15 mortals a turn At whatever comes to you at +2-+4 to cast. I think you can get your chance to fail even including banishments down to less than 20% like that, which should be a pretty viable build. Not talking tournament competitive but fun and effective enough to play and enjoy.
People are sleeping on the Tzeetch mark. I would argue it's not great but better than Slaneesh and would have been meta in some cases if marks were chosen during deployment and not during list creation. I have seen battle reports from 4.0 with endless spells lifting units. Being able to deny endless spell damage isn't horrible, just very situational.
I absolutely agree. There are enough movement shenanigans to make the +1 feel quite niche. Whereas Tzeentch has fittingly become the mark of casters to save them from dying to spells.
Unfortunately not. While they are treated as an enemy unit for the purpose of combat range, they aren’t actually an enemy unit for slain model purpose, same reason you can’t score a battle tactic from slain manifestations
I think the basic nurgle chaos warriors are really underrated with a 5+ ward from sorcerer lord. With 20 models in the unit, you can defend objectives a lot easier. They don’t hit soft either and seem very hard to clear off an objective
You're right... everyone talks Khorne but Nurgle is very strong. Most people prefer to play offensive rather than defensive, which is where Khorne always creeps forward but a Khorne+Nurgle S2D brings the best of both worlds.
For some reason the audio was much better for me using headphones instead of my PC speakers. Maybe that will help someone because this was a great listen. Thanks Coach and Jordan.
really valuable information in the video but terrible sound quality. my ears really hurt after listening for 2 hours to this. but as I said, really good content was said in it.
Thanks for sticking with us, i did have a warning about the audio not being the best pinned to the video. Your dice will be blessed now with lots of 6s
I get that you invested time into the conversation to make content and that tou had to get the video out, but Jordan's audio is unwatchablely bad and i just can finish this.
Sorry you felt that way, certainly hard getting audio correct half way around the world. I’ll try harder in future discussions, however; i’d rather release this than scrap it all together. Appreciate you watched as long as you did
@@AoSCoach Do you just record the video call or do you have separate audio tracks? If you dont already do the latter, I would suggest you have the guests do a local recording and send it to you. The software to do it is free and syncing the audio doesnt take too long.
Honestly StD got incredibly shafted, it really makes me sad just how boring and underwhelming the "index" is. Manticore lord hits like a total wet noodle compared to his 3e counterpart, Demon prince sat on shelves for the entire 3rd edition only to be slapped with 100% point incrase in 4th? What the hell is GW thinking, its obvious no playtesting was done at all, just spam cav and hope for the best, the book has no options at all.
I would never expect I will be so disapointed. Those rules look like no one putted any effort and thought about what will be played, no replacement/substitution to cabalists/ knights of the empty throne/host. Ok it is a "new game" but there is no depth like it was in the past.
@@marcinkarolczak if it's anything like the 40k release for 10th, it's purposefully limited so you learn the bones of the game so that they can fully expand with the codex/battletome
Our "competitive" battle formation is damaging objectives. No army cohesion or thematics. Any decent warscrolls we had were absolutely gutted by points. I was looking forward to 4th, but not now. Very disappointed after the points release.
@@marcinkarolczak cabalists: magic is toned down all around. Having 3d6 by a defunct heroic action seems too much in that context. Now we’re all Cabalists lite with free Endless spells and Nexus Chaotica Knights of the Empty Throne: Swords of Chaos or cav focused Godswrath warband is your best bet. Our cavalry lists will work differently but fine, with easy buffs through Eye of the Gods. Host of the Everchosen: rally rules are included in command unit rules and Ensorcelled Banners don’t exist anymore, alongside a lot of overrules across all indexes. With a lot of easier buffs through EotG/DP buff/CSL buffs, good warscrolls and great rules (like Strike first Belakor), your worries are unfounded until we try the army and get some actual feedback
If it helps, all the armies have been reset and no doubt that depth will return with the battletomes. I recognise your frustrations, i know some of my lists haven’t been exciting without that depth we previously enjoyed
Hey coach, great video. We are having a bit of debate at our club as to wether a Daemon Prince of undivided can use his Ruinous Favour ability on chaos legionnaires. Arguments have been made for and against, as in it needs to be a 'mark of chaos' created keyword or because 'Mark of chaos' is an ability not a keyword that the resulting keyword carries argument. I'm curious what your take is or if you have heard what they might say in the FAQ if anything to clear it up.
And now to the bad news: if I understood correctly, then according to today’s free files for AoS4, I’m really fucked with “Legends” rules: there are not and will not be any Greenskins, Phoenixes, etc. In short, if the miniature has _live_ game, then for other systems there will not even be legend rules! I.e in fact, models of one system are categorically banned in others. That is, I have tons of vintage fantasy miniatures on round bases and adapted for the Mortal Realms, and GW now tells me to go play the Old World? Let GW go to hell...! Let's see how 40k players sing when the Leman Rus tank is removed from the Imperial Guard army and left only for the Solar Auxillia in in the Horus Heresy!
I’ve had models retire too and it sucks. I get it. Plenty of models i can’t use also because i bought them as allies which are no longer in the game and i don’t have plans to expand into a full faction

I would love if you put TH-cam Podcast on Spotify again.
It was always a joy to listen while driving
I'll get some up on podcast again soon.
