I got an 03 XTerra SC and it has bad rod knock. Is the bottom end the same as a NA? What would I have to do to get it back up and running with junkyard parts if possible? NA Longblock?

I have a 2003 Nissan frontier xe not supercharged but I know it can be installed my only question is how does it get oil because I'm assuming it had an oil cooler or something
I know this video is pretty old so might not see this but happen to know what the torque specs are from the intake manifold collector bolts all the way back up? Rebuilding an xterra and would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!
Not sure off the top of my head. I have looked them up a few times in the past with a google search. If you cant find them on google Ide try a mechanics shop or dealership. I torque the head bolts to speck, but just snugged the intake by feel.
hey mate my vg33e (now supercharged) has just blown its head gasket. leaking coolant. where did you get the multi layer gasket you mentioned. as i dont want to change it more then once lol
I cant seem to find the place I ordered mine from, but the price has fallen dramatically. Look up steel or cometic head gaskets for the VG30. and most of them you have the option for larger bore sizes. (I believe the 92mm is the one you want) Look that up or measure to make sure.
R P thats the plan! Euro cams and if i got enough money some new headers, can you not take the headers off when everythings still on or is it just easier
It runs good with the stock computer... a little rich with the bigger injectors. We put the supercharged computer in as well a few months later. you can see the test drive in part 3

Im doing the swap but my n/a xterra does not have the bypass silinoid vave on the drivers fender.what did u do about that?

I think the 33ER (the Supercharged block) might have lower comp pistons. but a 33E (NA block) will work just fine

Is there any other bolts other than the top 4 Allen heads and the 4 nuts holding the lower plenum? I’m having a tough time to even get it to budge!
That should be it... They can get pretty stuck down. Keep at it you should be able to knock it loose. try some penetrating oil on the gaskets.

I have a question regarding a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. I want to make it super charger. Do I have to change the lower intake as well?
I talk about that a little bit in these videos... you can make the NA lower work, but if you have the SC lower use it!

The supercharger is a sealed unit, there is no oil feed from the engine

If your pulling the heads its a great time to install cams and headers! there are some headers on e-bay for about $150 !

way easier! with the heads off. and if you can get some new head studs.
