      I love ❤️ that bag so much I would buy it from you, but I am 76 and have lung and brain cancer. So it would be foolish for me to do so. I only hope that enough people having problems try to return theirs. Perhaps enough complain will force a recall.

      Although this is super annoying, on the upside you are young, gorgeous, super slim & beautiful, healthy, and in love. This irritation is the definition of a first-world problem. XX PS I had something similar happen to me with a gold reissue 227 and I just became very good at fixing the problem with Barry M gold nail varnish and Angelus leather paint. I use that bag all the time now it's my 'work-horse' bag. I definitely got my money's worth.

    Lately it seems like you've been having big problems with Chanel, yet you continue to shop there. I wish influencers would stop indulging in brands that clearly don't work for them. I know you love Chanel and these sagas probably drive traffic to your channel, but... if they're 1) treating you poorly, and 2) making low quality products, stop giving them money/attention. We can shop vintage Chanel and let them feel we are not happy with the recent direction .. the girlies of wealthy families who shop Chanel will likely keep buying, but they are not their only customers. Many wealthy people care for products lasting and don’t want to produce so much waste. within a few years there would

      Oh my gosh. SAME! Influencers who are upset about their bags falling to pieces (when it's obvious Chanel expects you to wear the bag once and then buy a new one in a different color--- and c'mon, it's OBVIOUS that's what people are doing.) I do feel bad about the waste....but I watched a video and the influencers were like 'yeah, this sucks but I'm still going to buy Chanel'. Well....yeah, that will sure teach Chanel to make things better. Seriously, I want that level of disposable income. :)

    Romina, I hate to say that when you brought the bag in for assessment I figured this would be the outcome. My opinion would be to stop purchasing Chanel. I see so many people complain about quality issues, repeated price increases and bad customer service. But the truth of the matter is that until people stop purchasing from Chanel the current business model will continue. As with any product, the only way you can let the brand know you are dissatisfied is by taking your purchasing power elsewhere. Sad but true. 😢

      I also vote for the 'do not buy from Chanel' but...so far I haven't heard from most of the fashion folks say 'I'm going to stop buying from them'. The only way to stop Chanel is to stop purchasing their junk.

    I am just tired of people revealing all of these ridiculous Chanel issues, complaining about how their quality is declining and how their customer service in unsatisfactory yet go back spending $$$ at Chanel. If you are fed up with Chanel stop buying from there. Constantly, I see TH-camrs make videos about Chanel issues and then follow it up with a new Chanel unboxing video. Until people stop buying from Chanel, they will never change. Start investing your money in better quality and better customer service. I loved Chanel, but had to stop buying from there. I always get tempted whenever I pass the store but I have to remind myself that until Chanel rights their wrongs, I can’t support. So if y’all ever see a girl closing her eyes while speed walking past Chanel - yep it’s me.

      Right there with you! It’s vintage Chanel for me, thanks. New Chanel is definitely not worth the money and I’d rather support brands that have better quality products at this point. I don’t have time for this level of drama, nor do I wish to support brands that clearly do not value their customers.

      I been on the team since 2019. Being a Chanel bag customer, is like a Abusive relationship . No matter how bad they treat you, the customer stays and won't leave. I managed to leave them and find a new beautiful relationship with YSL. They may not be from the same class and money as CHANEL, but YSL treats me better, the customer service is flawless, and the bag quality is alot better.

    Ask your credit card to suspend payment. They will then ask you to fill in a form explaining your problem and they will decide whether you should pay or not! Don’t let them get away with this, the reasons they have given you are rubbish.

    In a nutshell: I am shocked. So, basically, as long as it doesn't peel, it's fine? No problem there - if I were you, I'd wear this bag now NON STOP every bloody day, because it WILL peel. And then? Back to Chanel ASAP.

    I’m sorry, but you need to tell Chanel that they returned it because of the same flaws for Dacob and they need to honor that with as well. This is completely unacceptable. Not only did they return it for him but they sent him gifts and treated him much better. You need to call Chanel directly and argue this. I wouldn’t give up. That is what they want. Keep fighting Romina. 😊

      Can't you take it back to the Paris boutique and get straight in contact with Chanel? I don't think you should give up. Use the bag a bit more and see how it goes, maybe the pink leather will start showing even more, Then it must be a fault in the production. Dacob got to return his bag you should clearly be able to get your bag in. And be treated as a proper valued customer.

    You obviously love this bag and I think you should wear it. Those spots, while visible to you, are very tiny and do not at all deter from the visual quality of the bag! If you have to have perfect lighting and zoom in super close to see those marks, it's not that bad. It's a gorgeous bag.

    That's crazy! My YSL wallet literally ripped in two after using it a few times and I was so mortified. I was young and it was my first luxury purchase. My mom convinced me to go to the store to speak with the associates. When they saw the wallet in two (and it was obvious it wasn't used anywhere else), they apologized profusely and actually swapped it out for me. I will maintain that YSL has THE best customer service out of the luxury designers

    Sell it, even for a loss. Get yourself another bag from another brand and promise yourself to NOT shop for Chanel bags anymore. TBH: I don't get the luxury TH-camrs who buy Chanel, complain about the quality, but don't learn their lesson and keep going for more.

      But who can you sell this to? Surely no one would buy a very expensive bag in such a poor condition. I don’t think pre-loved shops would take it on either. It looks like the damage will continue to escalate with wear. I suppose ideally it should have been returned within days of finding the damage and then they couldn’t have trotted out the ‘wear and tear’ excuse.

    Let’s be honest. Chanel was never going to fix that bag. It is unfixable. The material it is made out of ... what were they going to do?!
    I’m sure at this point the ‘team’, has been told to give that little song and dance to customers. Chanel had a quick meeting ( I can just assume), and said ‘We have to stop giving people their money back’!

    In a way I'm glad I'm not into Chanel, way out of my price range and I'm happy with my LVs. But man, watching this Chanel drama unfolds is crazy! I feel for Chanel lovers. So far I have really great experience with LV in Europe and here in the US and my items are holding well.

    STOP THE PAYMENT with your credit card and report them to the department of consumer affairs (or whatever the equivalent is in England). If no one takes any action, they will continue to do this to people. I would report Harrods as well.

    What a load..... I'm so sorry. If this is " normal " they need to be making these statements before customers are buying. In Colombia 🇨🇴, we pride ourselves on our leather goods, especially bags and I've never seen this. I have a bag that my grandmother wore regularly and it is still in amazing shape. Being called a heritage brand is a privilege, one Chanel has forgotten.

      Depends on what your idea of 'flawed' is though. Chanel is making a bag that will break easily so they can sell a rainbow of colors to a consume base that has more $$ than sense who WILL just buy the next shade next season. It's just wild, but I think we are not the right demographic. Chanel wants to sell to the super wealthy who think nothing of dropping $5k. I think that's what we are seeing.

    Wow. This is disgusting. I've been lucky with my Metiers vanity box on chain purchase - my first non-vintage Chanel bag - as it has no issues. I've decided I won't be buying any more new Chanel leather goods, as they're just not worth the kind of hassle you've had. I think this is something I would take to the Small Claims Court in the UK / dispute with credit card company or bank. You have evidence from Dacob that Chanel does refund / credit these bags for this reason (albeit his was peeling a bit more, but yours is clearly on the way!): that gives you a good legal case. Chanel don't deserve to get away with this - or mess you around by getting you to send it in for repair again in a month when it is worse...

    If you love something . . let it go . . Sell the bag . . You'll be obsessing over every new paint crack and peel and in the end it will cause you more distress than it's worth . . There are other bags out there for you to fall in love with . . and remember when you shop at Chanel . . Let the buyer beware!

    I expected them to say this. They cannot possibly repair everyone's bag or replace them as they know the Chanell 22 is just below standard. I think people should just stop buying them but then people will still try to manage this bag. I honestly feel its a waste of £4000 plus as i said in my video. I guess it depends on how much one is willing to spend on a bag that is frankly not worth it. I prefer my preloved high quality Chanel bags of over 20 years as to be honest they are in a much better condition after such a long time. Having said that I do feel for you Romina 😒

    i hate to break the news to you..but chanel will not do anything for you... you can't change the trajectory of people buying chanel n their bags! they do not bow down to ppl who have TH-cam channel influencer etc.. the only people they cater to are the big couture clients who have face to face interactions with the chanel owners n executives.. as an ex chanel worker its just what it is... romina i luv your chanel.. just enjoy this lovely bag and wear it to the fullest without care... ala Olsen twins vibes...hahaha luv how they wear all the vintage beaten up birkins n kellys.. or else just stop buying chanel bags...ppl are still buying big time! nothing will change in chanel till ppl stop buying chanel! it comes down to their bottom line!!!

    🇬🇧🦋Romina , please contact your trading standards officer. the bag is not fit for purpose , should not be wearing like this ... it does not matter wether Chanel or a £9.99 bag , still needs to be investigated . Being Chanel they would not want you to do this , I can assure you if you tell them this is your next intention there attitude will change for the better . You have tried to return bag , took into there repairs team . They have sold a defective bag . You will be able to find your nearest Trading Standards online . Wishing you lots of luck lulu . Xx🦋🇬🇧

    Chanel no longer stands behind the quality of their pieces. Unfortunately, when it comes to these luxury houses, quality is going out the window. They just want to produce pieces as fast as possible and continue to raise prices. Also, I do believe people are resigned to the fact luxury pieces are flawed. It's sad, but these days when I purchase a luxury piece, sometimes I am shocked It's in perfect condition. 😞❤️

    I feel so bad for you. I would be furious if it happened to me, but the fact that they claim it is part of the material/design, should be stated or informed prior to purchasing. Don’t you have some kind of official policy about customer protection where you live (UK ?), if, then maybe you should open a case at/for them to investigate whether this lame excuse from Chanel is justifiable. I think it is a scandal and Chanel should be better than that.

    My DHGate/Ali CC bags after two years have not shown ANY sign of peeling or wear. Still flexing them almost twice a week 🖤🤠 so sorry for your experience 😣😣

    In my opinion, stop purchasing new Chanel and stick to the good vintage bags! But I wouldn’t torture yourself over this one, use it and enjoy it as long as you can!

    Problem is that people will still buy it because :
    1. People have silly money
    2. Quality of the clientele is deteriorating together with the quality of the brand.
    Customers do not have self value and self respect if they continue to worship Chanel after their pretty much way of showing the disregard of the clients.

    I would be furious if I bought this bag and that happened! I have many Chanel bags and shoes but I will not be purchasing in the future. Ysl, Dior, Ferragamo are quality bags. Shopping in their boutiques is so much more pleasant

    😒I am sorry for the outcome💔. Is partial of reason Chanel knew you have wore the bag few times (they do keep eye on youtube influancers) and also the coating of this particual bag as they mentioned? If I knew after one time wore the bag and issues occures, I would return it the next day. Just the thought. Hope we all learned something from this.

    Chanel treat their customers like this.
    In my opinion, if you pay thousands of pounds for a handbag and a month later there is evident damage to it then it is not fit for purpose. Chanel can try to wax lyrical about how it is part of the bags charm, but the fact is that it was not purchased in that condition and should not suffer damage in any way in that time frame from normal use.
    I have been through this myself with a Gabrielle that I returned 31 days after I purchased it. I had to have a 3 week long email argument with various managers, area directors etc (not to mention the trips to Harrods) before they finally gave me a refund. Their bags are aesthetically beautiful but their quality, customer service and now price points are completely incongruent.

    U got the point Romina! I was at Chanel few days ago as the SA told me they had recent arrivals. A lady next to me was checking out a vanity case, only to find out that the leather inside was splitting and so I heard the SA saying to that lady that they couldn’t sell it to her. I was surprised that it got passed QC to get into the store. And thanks for sharing ur experiences and voicing these out, helps me at least to decide if I should spend elsewhere.

    I have lived by this motto most of my life. This is how it goes. The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. But with regards to Chanel, the price is high and I except the best quality. Don’t Chanel, Karl and Coco will be rolling in their graves and your people will ruin the good name. Look after your loyal customers or you will lose them.

    So sorry to hear it didn't work out : (. I thought at least they would give you a refund/store credit if there was no exchange. You could leave it as a piece of art and look at it but I believe you bought the bag to use as well as admire that beautiful colour. I would lean more to wearing the bag then monitor it after each wear. The SA did mention if it starts to crack/peel (like Dacob's) to contact her and if you notice this then contact the SA. And, thinking about Chanel's warranty, it may be best to wear it regulary because if more issues come up closer to when your purchased it, then more of an argument can be made for a flaw versus if the issue comes up at the end of the warranty then they could have more of an argument for wear and tear. There is a lot of leather and even if it got worse, it is not in an area that is visible if you were to have it as an art piece so if it were me, I would wear it and enjoy it as much as I can then either "retire" it as an art piece if Chanel won't fix it or look into a third party who deals with luxury bags to see if they can fix. If you sell it noting the issues the Chanel 22 has been having I'm not sure how much you would get but at least it would be something , is one way of looking at it. How do you generally feel when you look at your bag? If it's more disappointment than happy, maybe it may be worth considering to sell it and maybe use the funds to buy a buy that makes your heart sing otherwise keep it if you feel more joy is my opinion.     Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this 😕 You just be so frustrated and disappointed.
    This is one of the main reasons I stick to Louis Vuitton- I’ve personally never experienced quality issues with their products and when I have, they’ve always provided the best service or like you said, they just opt for transparency and do a recall.
    Sell the bag! And buy the Garden Capsule Speedy from LV instead.

    Unfortunately Chanel is no longer the same quality. I’ve been shopping there for 2 decades - it’s time to move on from today’s Chanel. I will continue to wear my things that I love and will only shop preloved. Looks like they are moving in a different direction than what they had been for almost a century.

    Hey Romona! I think the Chanel 22 has a similar finish to the Balenciaga le cagole shiny metallic bag. After 2 weeks of wear I noticed a similar response to the coating of the bag and the nature of the bag is not strutured so it encourages the response. I hope you can enjoy the bag for what it is. Its very practical and I think you should wear it without fear.

    Disgusting! It really depends how far you want to take this, and if you are bothered about a relationship with chanel afterwards. You could wear it daily until it inevitably peels and then more likely get your money back on it. You could sell it (being transparent about the damage so far). Or you could go in hard with chanel, contact your credit card provider and explain the situation to them and try to do a charge back, they may be able to give you some legal advice on your consumer rights and how to determine if the item is fit for purpose or even if it was mis sold (if its not the quality of leather it was sold to be).

    Romina, the purple metallic colour is just stunning…you’ve been wanting this bag for awhile, I would just keep it. It might become a collector’s item in the future. However it isn’t the everyday bag that you wanted. I would just keep it and not worry about it. Much love ❤️

    I had unpleasant experience at Chanel 3yrs ago… and eversince then, I am no longer keen to buy anything from Chanel. If I am spending such amount of money, I expect above average service standards. But their standards fall flat for me…. So been gg to other brands instead

    hey you live in UK. Strict guidelines exist for retail and consumer rights. the bag is not fit for purpose. see a lawyer, pay the money and get them to send a letter to chanel! that will wake them up! its a disgrace

    For that amount of money you shouldn’t have to struggle. That is almost a down payment for a house or a car in the US. They already said that it’s going to get worse over time, might as well just sell it now when it’s in good condition. I’m sure more amazing bags will be coming this season.

    I would go to a non harrods location. It’s amazing how different locations will give you different info etc. i had lv replace a whole strap for me just bc meanwhile others say it’s not damaged etc.

    I feel so bad for you. I think we all knew that Chanel would not take accountability. For a company that has had a significant pricing increase, how arrogant of them to have such poor quality control. There are so many customer complaining. The biggest statement you could make is to stop purchasing Chanel. Maybe they will get the message at that point. But people will not stop purchasing them so they can go on with this behavior 🌸

    Dear Romina: Thank You for sharing this experience. I am a new follower, I find you adorable and oh so pretty! My overall opinion is this, You bought this bag and you were so in love with her! Oh yes the colour is STUNNING and she suits you. You really love this bag, yes you do, it looks comfortable and so fun. She is your friend who is having a little difficult time in life and she is showing a few scars and her natural colour underneath.
    Because you love her so much, you should wear her with all your might, and get the most use out of her as you can. Treat her like your best friend just had a hard time in life and got hurt and ended up with some scars, don’t neglect your friend because she unexpectedly got some scars, you love her and she loves you, I think you would be sad if you let her go or if you just let her sit in your closet all lonely. Wear her as often as you like, let the world know you love her and when her skin peels off so much that it’s obvious, then sell her, people are dying to buy a used handbag like this to repair, because it can be repaired, I have been learning how to repair gorgeous bags and I would repair her and keep her in her scars and all, and I would be so proud to have her and tell everyone in my life, this bag came from a loving caring gorgeous person named Romina, who loved and really cared for this stunning Chanel soft colourful bag.     Thanks for sharing your experience. I have stopped buying bags from Chanel long ago because of the quality reason. They really are not worth it with such price increase. However, I still buy shoes from them, I find them are okay at the moment. As to your bag, I had the same problem with a LV bag I bought in Bond Street, I actually bought that bag 9 months ago and only worn it a few times where the corner started to fray a bit. They looked at my bag carefully, they gave me credit note immediately and I bought another bag immediately 😂 and I have been using that bag for years. LV discontinued that produce. I bought my J12 in Chanel, the mechanical one, it was not working properly after 6 months. I took it back, they sent off to repair, I have no problem since. It really depends on the products. It is well known that Chanel bags have had issues for the last 8 years. My Chanel bags I bought around 2009 to 2014 are as good as new - hardware, leather (patent and calf skin), nothing change colour, aged beautifully. Including one parent I damaged myself under the strong sun on holiday (completely my fault), I rubbed and cleaned it, it’s not perfect but still in very good condition. I gone into Harrods recently, looked at the Chanel classic bag (calf skin), OMG, the bag just not remotely constructed using the same materials as my one. The leather felt cheap, the hardware looked cheap. Hope you will stop buying from Chanel one day, I did that before all the price increase.

    Thank you for being honest and show us what luxury should not be. 5k in a bag that won't look good in 5 years (maybe 2) don't worth it. Why not to use that money in a Dior lady art, the Hermes raisin bag or in Bvlgari garden crystals or in other bag that when you use it you won't feel that you was scammed by a plastic bad leather quality bag.

    I would try again and go to a chanel boutique. I was told the ateliers at department stores are different t from that of the actual chanel boutiques. Also, I was told chanel boutiques have better options and flexibility. Although I purchased my bag at a Saks, I went to my normal chanel boutique. Awaiting the result still…

    Wow! I don’t understand why people are still buying Chanel. I wish that they would take a stand and stop buying their products just to teach them a lesson.     Hi Romina! This may be an unpopular opinion, but I say wear it and enjoy it! I bought the 22 even after I saw that you, Dacob, and Jasleen had peeling and wear after carrying it once. I bought it to wear and enjoy and at the end of the day it's part of the permanent collection, so if there ends up being a recall we can exchange it then and if not let's just enjoy it and not sell it off for someone else to worry about. Not to mention you will lose money on selling it so quickly. Just my opinion. Whatever you decide thats up to you. Good luck😊💜

    I have been through this with COLE HAAN. I had gorgeous most favorite-bought 2 pairs-shoes PEEL & DISINTEGRATE. BEEN through this with BOTTEGA VENETTA PURSES, the most expensive ones. I never will be their customer again. Other exciting creative designs always pop up. You visited a vintage shop, I remember. Those have the old, superior quality. I also went all through trying to get them repaired, but their customer service is a flimsy shell and like a withered styrofoam cup, deteriorating in the street, so sad, but new designs do pop up…🍋🍊🍒

    I would wear it, enjoy it. If it gets any worse then take it back. It’s a gorgeous bag. I have a couple Chanel bags. I went to get a mini Chanel, the flap wasn’t level on two bags that were in stock that was just before covid not looked since. Good luck.

    My grandma was a dressmaker in Italy for years, and LET ME TELL YOU, there are clothes that you’d be actually able to wear today and they look new. That is the purpose of luxury fashion, especially when the prices are clearly luxury.

    If you love it, wear it. Is it eligible for the bag warranty? Is this in writing - it's been so long since I bought Chanel I can't remember - my Chanel 19 from 21P was covered I know that much. So if it is covered and you wear it and it becomes defective you can return it. Best of both worlds?

    They have no business at all to say that that’s normal wear and tear they can say that after years of owning it but not after 2 or 3 times of wearing it at least state that in the description when purchasing it that it’s part of the design to crack and fade ect right away as part of its design since that’s what there trying to tell every one who calls them out on there lies I’d say keep it wear it and In time ull have the natural peeling to we’re they can’t over see it any longer and will have to refund you this is not okay terrible on there part for not owning up to a defect iv never seen a bag have design concept that is supposed to age very badly and age immediately to say that’s supposed to do that has to be a joke! If that’s the case then they should cut the price in half and add to customers this is what is supposed to happen it’s really false advertising if we want to be real about it!

    I hate to say this, as much as I love Chanel, I feel like it's become high-end fast fashion anymore, and the quality is no longer there. I would rather buy vintage or pre-loved now. Ditto for Louis Vuitton and Dior. :(

    Vintage Chanel would be the only Chanel bags I would consider. IMHO it isn't worth buying new anymore. Maybe check out their fashion pieces?

    Why do people accept this from Chanel and continue to buy from them? I am Team Romina all the way. A $5,000 bag shouldn't show wear and tear after a few uses. Chanel needs to recall the 22 but they won't because they are greedy and people accept the higher prices for lesser quality. I think you either hold and hope for a recall or sell and buy something you can actually use. Like that Gold Ferragamo :)

    1- to impress others
    2- personality
    3- shopping enable self-expression
    4- success
    5- emotions
    6- to cover emotional insecurities
    7- selfishness
    8- you fall for marketing hype easily
    After all, I believe it’s for people who are not confident so they need a booster. Anyway I feel everyone should stop being so fascinated about the brand

    I had to comment again. Fight this. Go as high as you can go. That means to head office. I looked at the other comments and you have a lot of support. Most of the comments bring shame to Chanel. Take these comments and send them to the CEO along with a letter explaining the situation about the quality. No quality item should wear so quickly. You are an influencer with 40k subscribers. Management will take note of that. Don’t let Chanel walk over you. Watching your videos and those from other luxe TH-camrs about the attitude and quality of that brand has put me off. And they have the audacity to raise prices to boot.
