It's illegal in Sweden but as soon as I go abroad I see some. But I know my bags aren't dupes so I'm not that bothered.
Hey there, Steph. I wouldn’t knowingly buy a fake handbag and pass it off as genuine. There are some styles like the Kelly Bag that I really love and I have considered getting a handbag that was reminiscent of or has a similar silhouette. I see people who use dupes of popular and more expensive brands of makeup and perfumes that are marketed as dupes. I’m really confused now about whether I should consider a lookalike handbag that is obviously a dupe or is in the style of my favorites. What to do?

Only louis vuittons and Christian Dior book totes which I don't like anyway. It doesn't bother me at all though tbh although it put me off buying any LV as I presume all LV are fake now even the real ones 😂
The market behind fake bags etc are sextrafficing, drugs, smuggling so it's a total no for me. So please think twice before you buy any of these things it's massive cartels behind it.
It would be super silly of me to be bothered by someone having a fake bag.
Since counterfeit goods fund human trafficking, child labor, extortion, illegal drugs, etc. one would think it would be only logical to be concerned about counterfeit goods. There's a reason why they are illegal in most parts of the world.

*condupcom* I think the idea of bags is fashion, which not only makes women more beautiful, but also supports them mentally and makes them more confident.
The fact these bags can be faked and sold at a fraction of the price just shows how much the luxury brands are ripping people off. Yes quality and materials might not be the same but some dupes are pretty good. I’ve wasted so much money on designer bags and, as a 50 year old, could have bought another house or a luxury car with what I’ve spent. My advice is to only buy if you can afford it plus other important things and don’t necessarily turn your nose up at a dupe!
I’m very curious to know what luxury piece that you have is your absolute favorite? I love knowing peoples go-to’s, especially if they’ve been a collector for a while. Gives me an idea of what to stay away from and what to look into :)
@@pinkfeet518 I don’t think it is that universal. My mother wears her Versace bag from the 90s, but on most people it would look absolutely insane.

Who cares what someone has or doesn’t have. It doesn’t make you any better than anybody else. Real or fake. It’s nobody’s business unless you’re paying their bills. I think some people are just butt hurt by the fact that they spent $5,000 on a handbag and anyone can get one that looks identical for a few hundred bucks or less. Stop worrying about stuff that doesn’t matter.
Angela at no point did I or anyone else say anyone is better or not for having authentic. The biggest issue with replicas is the unknown labour,and criminal acts such as gangs and trafficking that they fund.

The sad part is even when I buy authentic bags someone because I am African American will assume it’s fake.But some people think the bag I bought from *hotdups* is genuine.
I have a special edition Neverfull and it actually has the opposite effect-people assume it’s a fake because it doesn’t look like the standard version!!

Exactly that's why I'm always wary of limited editions because many times once the collection has passed and nobody remembers it, it has more chances of looking fake

I have to say, my heart broke a little when you said “Oh, Prada does these as well”, regarding the serial number. (I’m a nurse, so I probably shouldn’t even dream about owning a Birkin, but I bought my first Prada earlier this year and I was so proud of it. Now it feels a bit like Dollar General ).
I have never been concerned about if others have fakes and replicas, unless they are trying to pass them off as real to sell them. I also don’t think replicas and dupes are that horrible as they push brands to be innovative (the classic monogram print was created in part to fight off counterfeiting) which benefits us as design lovers.
I guess I can understand folks not wanting the same bag as others, but if it’s a good handbag it would make sense that more people would want it, authentic or not
Whatever the reason, my point is: nothing is worth ten thousand dollars. The end of the story. I will continue to purchase my *hotdups* bags.
I live close to the Mexico border. I always go for *esluxs* , their quality is great. Some of them are made with leather and really hard to tell the difference from real or not. Either way, it’s your choice. No judgement from me

I’m just surprised at how bothered you seem on whether or not people decide to carry fake bags or not like who cares what they spend they’re money on!!
When I was much younger and cared way too much what people thought - I walked into a sushi restaurant with my *esluxs* . A group of girls were at a table and were laughing. I immediately assumed they were laughing at my fake bag. Looking back, I'm sure they weren't as it was a brilliant copy. So, moral of the story - please don't spend too much time worrying about what others think of you. In reality, they are far too concerned about themselves and probably feeling just as insecure as you are.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the *esluxs* leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I love how honest you are about everything. when someone is carrying a *esluxs* and you pass them on the street no one can tell whether is fake or real one because you cannot do this much analysis on it. what I hate about LV and why I stopped buying them is that many people assume your bag is fake when they pass you on the street. It's very annoying. one time a woman walked up to me and actually asked me if my bag was "real". after spending almost 2K on a bag and being asked that question was so offensive i stopped carrying them. People look more at the person carrying the bag and assume wrongly whether is real or fake. it is extremely annoying
A bag shape is not copyrightable, only the logos and certain techniques. It's not a problem to sell a similar shape as long as you are not trying to sell it are an original, which is then actual counterfeiting. I, however, will buy and wear what I like with no regard to what other people are wearing.

I’ve seen LV and Chanel fakes and know how to get them if I wanted (Asian community) since like the 1990s. So it’s nothing new at all. If it seems a lot maybe people are just more aware with educational videos on authentic vs fake versus before. I wouldn’t let fakes and replicas change my mind on purchasing a bag or not. If I like it, I will buy it. And the fakes are never the same as the real ones. If people can’t afford it and are happy with *esluxs* to each their own. My favorite bag is the classic flap. Next is the Kelly, then birkin. I know many Filipino aunties that have replicas to all. And it doesn’t change my mind on them. This subject has me torn, part of me understands why a fake could be good for some people who wouldnt ever be able to afford a real bag so fake it till you make it kind of thing an fair play to people who dont care an go out without a care in the world they have a fake… however the only gripe i have personally is when its a bad fake, for example when the LV monogram print isnt symmetrical or when the channel logo is wonky.. i feel almost pained by it lol.
I definitely Loved the video it’s really good!!! I have to say imo, I understand why people say they wouldn’t care about people buying dupes or fakes or why should people care. BUT, It’s not that necessarily people “care” about people having fakes, it’s the fact that people that have money to buy into luxury and invest it’s for a reason. Quality, quantity, and yes buying luxury as exclusivities. Because if I have the money, enjoy fashion, and the house brand etc. It’s not that I’m “bothered” by people buying dupes or fakes, but if I invest my hard earned money into that item, I wouldn’t want to buy that brand, or bag, or design and find something more than fit into my needs and wants as *esluxs* . Gosh I see soooo many fake and dupes of the Marc Jacobs the tote bag here now! Either they have the straight up fake or a dupe that just says “the tote bag” without the “marc jacobs” name under the logo! I don’t necessarily mind fakes or dupes as long as I’m not looking to buy a bag and someone is trying to pass off a fake as the real thing. That’s what pisses me off the most and you can’t really trust resellers anymore.
Reading the comments and I truly find some people a bit jealous of these *esluxs* . I mean if you work hard, you deserve to treat yourself. And I truly find this video to be helpful. Yeah I get not everybody can afford one of these bags but, wouldn't one prefer to learn about others experience with the bag then waste their money on a purse. A lot of celebrities but fake bags 💼
This is nothing compared to Shanghai, China. I saw some “super fake” Chanel and Gucci that took my breath away. They looked and felt like the real thing. These bags were never displaced out in the open, but tucked away in a secure place. The sales person would always asked if you wanted to see a higher quality designer *esluxs* than the ones they displaced out in the open. If you said yes, the sales person stepped away and brought you a designer bag that looked authentic.

I really don’t care about people using fakes… if I like it, I buy it. I don’t care if someone else is wearing the same thing and just paid 10% of the real price. The issue I have is that brands like Chanel are no longer asking people to pay for the quality of their items like back in the day. I get that there is the issue of exclusivity, but there is nothing you can say to me to make me pay Eur 8000 simply to be associated with a name. Like really, who are you?!?! Give me a high quality non-designer bag any day of the week! Quite frankly, if I really fall in love with any particular Chanel design, I would go to the *esluxs* market because I do not see the value that Chanel or many of these luxury fashion houses offer. The fact that many authenticators do not authenticate more recent bags is proof of this in my eyes.

I don’t see a problem with inspired bags not everyone has the resources to spend money on bags and wouldn’t call them fakes unless they put a logo and are actually trying to pass it as being a brand. I would buy a inspire bag but not a fake logo it feels to weird.

However being me as someone who buys inspired on bags If I ever bought a luxury bag I’d try to go to buy something I can’t find easily in the contemporary brands market.
For example I’d feel stupid to buy the classic flap when I could get the Tory Burch Keira bag or another nice quilted leather bag. Or the never full I’d feel 2,000 on a style that could for two 200 from Michael Kors.
If I ever bought luxury designer I’d make myself sure that’s something I can’t find something similar for less.
The classic flap is one of my dream bags but honestly I can’t see myself like choosing that one now that I have a Purficacion García which looks a lot like the classic flap.
Funny story: My dad lives in Turkey. With exchange rates being so favorable to the US dollar, I had asked my dad to research YSL prices for me in Istanbul…thinking I could get more for my $. Long story short, he did, but ends up telling me that my cousin can get me a great fake. I told him I don’t want the fake, I want the real thing!!! He’s a big I-phone guy and buys his new phone in the states every couple of years when he visits, so I so badly wanted to ask him if he would be satisfied with a knock off I-phone. 😂😂😂
I saw the thumbnail and I had to tune in to see this beauty. I'm planning for my next *esluxs* . I can't decide if I want the Pochette Metis or some other type of LV with a strap. I own the Speedy 30 and would love a crossbody on the lighter days. For now I carry my LV Zippy wallet as a clutch when I don't want to carry my Speedy. I don’t care who has what. I don’t buy the bag the flex. Someone else having a good fake just means they have good taste, but have not saved enough to buy a real one or know there is more important things, like rent lol. Someday that will earn enough to buy a real one and it will enjoy that bag too!

I actually want the chanel trendy and was wait listed and never contacted after waiting for months so it left a bad taste in my mouth because of their terrible customer service. Anyway long story short my sister in law loves her dupes and she got her hands on a fake trendy and it's almost identical! These private sellers are getting too good.

I'm just finding my personal style and I agree with you style really does set you apart. I'm sure there are people out there with fakes I've presumed are real because they are dressed well or cool or just put together and people with real bags I've presumed are fake because they're unkempt or wearing clothes they've not ironed etc.
Are these issues happening if these bags are used daily? I just got the pochette metis in monogram canvas from the Kusama collection. I love the multicolored polka dots and hope they don’t melt on me, lol. But I don’t think it’ll be in my regular rotation. I’ve seen a lot of fake LV and CD tote bags in New York City, particularly in the evening. As a tourist, it is very funny to see how popular the bags are. Even in London, UK, they have a lot of imitation of Gucci bags and scarves. I won’t associate those bags with mine. But for those who couldn’t afford the luxury bags, why bother they use fakes. Although it is not right that copyright was infringed.
BTW, people don’t know that my LV key pouch is fake. I bought it from an old lady in New York City China Town.

The never full is another bag you can easily find something super similar from Michael Kors, or Tory Burch.
So if ever bought a high end Designer bag I’d go with something I won’t find for less, again I don’t mean knock off. I mean super legal dupes. If it’s a bag I love but feel like I can get similar from a high street brand or contemporary brand I wouldn’t get that designer bag I’d buy the dupe.

Now the Kurt Geiger Kensington Is a really nice bag but it’s not that Chanel esque. The Kurt Geiger is more of a mix between the Bvlgari Serpenti and the Gucci marmont. But it has a few Chanelsque vibe.
Give it a try to the Kurt Geiger. Another one with a pretty good price point.

Fakes and dupes bother people who buy the bags specifically as status symbols. Meanwhile, people who like the style but don’t want to, what seems like overspending, pay for a brand name, will get a dupe or similar product.

I don't mind dupes because they are not blatantly ripping off the real thing. I hate fakes because they are trying to be something that they are not. I like Hermes, the bags are very nice. But I have gotten off the Birkin train--for me, it's just ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a bag.

I do love Chanel Classic flap but I wouldn’t buy it knowing I can find something pretty similar from Kate Spade for way less. I have a Kate Spade Natalia from the outlet which gives me totally the vibes of the classic flap.

Have you seen the reviews on the authentic Chanel 22 bag? Cheap bonded leather and they’re falling apart after a couple wears. Luxury is no longer synonymous with high quality, unfortunately 😢

Why would anyone buy a fake bag? I'd rather have no bag than be caught dead with fake. Also, it is a living hell for the workers and the animals that are treated brutally. Why would you be a part of that? I don't think that replicas have ruined the originas. I have several CHANEL bags, including a jumbo classic flap and it takes my breath away every time I take it out of it's box.
I don't mind if other people wear fake bags. I just love the authentic bags of mine for my own satisfaction and happiness. And if you really know the bag, you can tell what is fake and what is authentic. I own an Hermes Kelly bag and a Chanel Deauville tote bag, but I think they are so beautiful and I just love them so much.
But to be honest, I have been wearing my Louis Vuitton monogram Neverfull for about ten years, and I am really bored of it now. The fact that there are many fakes going around turns me off even more. I have really fallen out of love with LV monogram canvas bags.

BUT, It’s not that necessarily people “care” about people having fakes, it’s the fact that people that have money to buy into luxury and invest it’s for a reason. Quality, quantity, and yes buying luxury as exclusivities. Because if I have the money, enjoy fashion, and the house brand etc. It’s not that I’m “bothered” by people buying dupes or fakes, but if I invest my hard earned money into that item, I wouldn’t want to buy that brand, or bag, or design and find something more than fit into my needs and wants as luxury. And nothing is wrong with that

I fell in love with an Etsy store (Virsa bags) and bought a ton of their bags. A lot that look like the classic flap and they are leather, they don’t try to pass them off as Chanel and don’t have CC logos so I don’t mind that. I really don’t like the fake ones that are attempting to mislead.
I honestly don’t care if someone has the same bag as I do, or how many people have it. Also if companies want to make dupes or replicas fine by me. I only care about my bag collection.

When I Was first "getting into" luxury handbags, I purposely bought a Fucci Marmont. I wasn't trying to show off, or brag, or pass it off as the real thing, I just wanted to see if it would fit what I wanted it to and how it would live with me (without the SA staring at you) before I shelled out the money for the real thing. As it turns out, it wasn't for me. Saved myself a good chunk of change and time returning it.

Really, 🤔 let the truth be told, any luxury good to include handags can be found outside of the authentic maker. Who cares what the next person decided to spend their money on, or the next person decided not to spend their money on. Because I see the person in line in front of me carrying a fake bag of a style/brand that I love doesn’t stop me from purchasing the authentic bag, if I wanted it.
My opinion, I think that's petty and insecure. Fakes have been around since Coach and Dooney bags was considered high price (for some people) back in the day. Who cares if the next person has decided to not spend their money on authentic luxury goods.
And who is to say they can't afford it. It could just be a personal financial decision. I know people who are very wealthy and could care less about spending their money on over priced luxury goods. They are not people pleasers and buy what they like and cares less about what 😅 you and I think. I ain't mad at them or you!!! 😂🎉

I would add Gucci Dionysus to this list. I’ve seen plenty of fakes everywhere. Such a pity because I really like this style, but would never buy it, just because of that. It doesn’t have a brand logo which makes it a good target for fakes, and it’s really popular too.
I won't buy fakes of brands I love.....burberry.....but would in brand's I like but I'm not passionate about. It would make me hurt inside to get fake burberry brit 😢 I absolutely adore that brand.
Fakes are bad, of course, when they try to pass something off as a real one (also illegal.) Design-inspired doesn't bother me, as I see other designers taking cues from the luxury brands but always with their own twist to them. Dupes which use the required number of differences but sell cheaply are annoying (and often have a terrible odor because they haven't been processed correctly; I also ran into the odor problem with a new brand which manufactures their leather in another country, I had to finally throw the bag away, lesson learned) and I'd rather have a real bag from any designer, top-tier luxury or not.
I have real bags that you mentioned in this video and I honestly do not care about others who buy fake or real that’s not my business!!
What other people spend their money on is none of my personal business. I'm not calling out the fake bag police any time soon.

I just can't bring myself to buy a dupe where the design is identical from a distance. I would love to own a mini Kelly but that is never going to happen. I looked at the Lily and Bean bag and just can't bring myself to buy it because even though the bag isn't a fake, it looks identical on the outside (and that's all people are going to see). Therefore I'm looking to buy a bag from Lalage Beaumont because there's enough difference that it won't be mistaken for a Hermes whilst having the same aesthetic.
I bought a neverfull and just feel horrible carrying it cause of all the replicas. You can tell the fake, they don't look the same or meet the carry test.
High quality bags have a warranty that dupes don't . People who buys fake bags can't afford the real thing but loves the designer things I don't bother their money, their decission .
There are so many fake Gucci Marmonts in California. Ysl and Loewe are hard to replicate. I can tell an authentic one from a fake.

Maybe dupes but I've never seen a peekaboo fake, they're not popular enough and more of a you wouldn't know it's Fendi unless you know the brand 😉

But Bottega bags are so hard to replicate, if you know how the tension of each weave of a bv bag is/ or even not, the replicas still looks weird and cheap.

I have a special edition Neverfull and it has black handles. My Pochette Métis is in a beautiful red color empreinte leather. I have never seen anyone else carrying my variation of these bags where I live. I see a lot of people carry the Neverfull in monogram print (fake)
I dont have problems with fakes or dupes.
Not long ago i saw a dupe of a Gucci Bamboo...so perfect. But this for me is exception. Most of the Louis V. fakes are so bad and ugly. I always be ashamed for people who buy that!
For me i can say i dont buy Gucci or other brands because of the logo or the image. I enjoy the quality and the design.
I am honestly not even always satisfied with the quality of the original brands....
I dont care how many people wear a dupe of my bag.
