- In this tutorial we're discussing how to do UTTHITA PARSVAKONASANA / EXTENDED SIDE ANGLE POSE A & B, as practiced in Ashtanga's Fundamental Sequence. We explain the traditional vinyasa cues and Sanskrit count, cue the correct actions and alignment for injury prevention, and talk about some common mistakes. We also talk about different kinds of challenges in trying to do the vinyasa.

Thanks for this tutorial. I actually really like this posture, the side stretch feels so good. B is a work in progress of course. I really like what you said about meeting the discomfort. This can apply to so many things in life.

Is Utthita Parshvakonasana B in your video is rather Parivrtta Parsvakonasana? Still trying to figure out the difference between Parsvakonasana, Utthita Parshvakonasana and Parivrtta Parsvakonasana...
I realise I put my arm straight up in B not over the ear
