Description: Top Gun: Maverick brings back Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, but what if Goose's son, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, took center stage? This video explores the potential of Rooster as the protagonist, examining his character arc, motivations, and how his perspective could have shaped the story differently. I don't understand. You are trying to sell us your own idea of what the movie is about. Not what the movie is actually about? It's that pretentious nonsense where the 'critic' trying to show everyone how we are all stupid for not seeing what it was 'really about'.
At no point did either the creators of TG or Star Wars etc told you this was what their movies are about.
You are simply projecting and fantasizing wildly.

I am Jacks lack of media literacy.
Analysis of themes is a core pillar of media literacy. Engaging with subtext both intended or perceived is useful for understanding why a piece of media resonates with an audience, or what lessons intended or other wise they might take away from it. This is a different skill that media reviews or criticism. It is completely valid as a form of expression. At no point in the video essay did the author imply they were reporting on the film makers intended subtext.
