I am afraid that the Dune movies will come and go. Hopefully, enough people will get snagged by the books and jump into that world. Swim around a bit, you know.

I was very disappointed that the film left out the banquet scene, it sets an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty, of [who is really what they seem?], of plans within plans.
Definitely. It showed a lot of the politics of water, the power dynamics of the planet, Kynes....
They did shoot some kind of banquet scene, but it got chopped up with a lot of other parts of the film.
They shot a number of scenes for the film that were cut. I think an extend cut like the ones for the Lord of the Rings trilogy would greatly help the film.
