Hello Leonardo, It's almost a decade since you made this amazing solo, and its still etched in my mind, how emotional and at the same time technically jaw dropping this solo is. Probably the best melody I've heard in ALL guitar contests clips I've watched on TH-cam. I'm still protesting why this is only 2nd Place, when it should be the winner of ALL the competitions. Its already 2021 and I still remember the melodies and comes back to this. I hope your reading this. I hope you could create an online tab of this for us to learn. It's up there with Guthrie Govan's Larry Carlton jam, Yngwies Black Star and EVH's eruption. Thanks for this amazing piece.

Pierre Garnier playing 100% perfect is not the point of the music... it's mathematics then. I really love that little imperfections (when he's not 100% in the click on some notes), gives the human feel and style, and makes melody bit awkward in a good way. If I wanted robot playing I'd listen to Guitar Pro. And BTW he plays really crappy guitar, and good instrument means a lot. If that was RG2550... but that's the charm of the video :D
kanaziras Its true that playing perfectly is not the point of music but somehow it is the point of competitions like these. I am trying to say that they both played amazingly and melodically but the one that did not make any mistakes like yannis ,because even if we like it or not when u make some technical mistakes it messes up even a little bit the sound you produce,deserves to win as he somehow "did everything right" as far as melody,mistakes and shredding are concerned.Some may prefer Leonardo but the competition is like test , a composition as the most important thing is to cover all its aspects.

This is so good, I liked the most very beginning where you had so much damn good musical ideas but in the end it got out of hand like just repeating those same legatos, running scales up and down with those Van Halen and Vai tricks. I loved when this was dedicated to your beloved dog. They are awesome personalities and one significant part as a member of family. I still miss dog that I had to let go couple years ago because of cancer.

First saw you on a Federico Melaman video. Although FM was getting most of the praise, I thought " wow" that kid in the hoodie is really extraordinary and then you guys played " Sunny" and I thought, man he's as good on guitar as FM is on bass. You have phenomenal crops here my friend, it's a pleasure hearing you. I know FM lives in Italy, but I hope you two meet up again. It was total ear candy.
So much emotion with his technical playing and not soulful? The reason why he didn't win is because Ibanez already starting to look bad because the amount of shredders they have. If you ask someone what they played when it comes to technical playing, most can't explain or it's some half assed answer to not get embarrassed. Unless you're Paul Gilbert, Jeff Loomis, Andy James or any other guitarist who can shred like hell and back it up, you're alright. You can throw in a melody for 30 seconds and show your technical abilities and you'll still be considered just another shredder.
Don't get me wrong, his playing is amazing but companies are starting to get bad impressions. Especially fabrication of 9 string guitars. A skateboard with strings for Djent players. How lovely.

You should of been first place. The first place winner was really good but your style is so unique, that alone should of won it. The way you attack your notes is so different.
