WHYYYY do you keep getting the names wrong in all your videos?? Stop reading them with American dialect, like, why do you say "You-tah-dah" it's "Ooh-tah-dah" you also said, "Pen-ee-lo" instead of "Pen-ehh-loh" in the final fantasy video and many other ones you get wrong, like you say agito with a g for the word gel, but it has a hard g as in the word goat, it's so stupid because many of these names they verbally speak them out, like, wtf dude. The fact that we were never referenced to Sora's mother again after the first world of the first game still haunts me to this day with questions
I pray every KH fan lives to see the day when the mystery is solved.
I always liked to think the Master of Masters (MoM) was a reference to Sora's mom. I always pictured the series as a sort of game that Sora, Kairi and Riku were playing at Destiny Island, and they were just using things around them or stuff they grew up with as ideas for worlds. Like for example, why so many FF characters show up, maybe as kids they used to play FF games all the time, and maybe they watched Disney movies as kids. Just small things like that. Whereas the MoM is considered the "Highest of them all", sort of the greatest out there. Maybe Sora, or whoever is playing this game is using their mom as a sort of basis for that. Super random I know, but with so many different Genres and Characters from different sources I had to come up with SOMETHING as a kid to understand what was happening, and what better way as a kid playing a video game then to imagine the whole story as other kids playing a game together?
It’s even more scary that Sora got into Smash before we ever heard from his mother again. I was always wondering which would happen first.
Especially considering how in the recent games parents seem to be becoming more of prominent thing in the story.

Ansem the Heartless took the name after his "former master" when Terranort split his heart in two diferent pieces, creating Ansem The Seeker of Darkness (Heartless) and Xemnas (The nobody)

I'm surprised that no one brings up that King Triton in KH1 KNOWS about the other worlds/Keyblade Wielders, being the only other Disney character besides the Villans.
What happened in Atlantica before we got there?
Triton more than likely heard of the legends of the Keyblades, such as the ancient keyblade war. It’s not that a tragic event happened in Atlantica more that he knew of the keyblades dark history and wanted nothing to do with it

I've always just assumed he was one of those wise elders that knows all the secrets of the world. Him being King Triton, ruler of Atlantica and wielder of the Triton was always enough of a reason for me.
I hate it when people bring up Riku's quote from KH1 "There can't be two keyblade masters" as it's proof of the retcon or smth.
Riku at the time didn't know shit, and was just saying hurtful stuff to mess with Sora since he stole the Keyblade; alongside that, from most characters POV at the time, there was only one Keyblade going around, so it makes sense for him to say that. They were all new to the whole Keyblade and outside worlds stuff, they were ignorant. It's not a plothole lmao

I'm talking about the people who expected Riku to know all the KH lore by the time that scene played. Yeah I totally agree. It's the same as when we found out that the characters in the Avatar world were just really stupid when the ability to bend elements was actually revealed to be from the Lion Turtles in The Legend of Korra instead of studying the inspirations from nature as it was explained in A:TLA, or when Obi-Wan started to talk in riddles to Luke about how Vader was actually his dad and he just neglected to give him all the details of his initial, incredibly blatantly implied statement of his father being someone with little significance. Totally not retconned or anything, they were all just idiots the whole time lol.

But the point was that even if there are a million keyblade masters, Riku has only seen 1 Keyblade ever at that point, so it's very "in character" for him to claim that there can only be one keyblade master
It's kinda different if you compare it to StarWars (haven't seen Avatar so I can't comment on that regard), because he knew the relationship between Luke and Anakin, but still chose to lie about it (looking from a character's pov, not the writers') because he didn't want Luke to be influenced by the fact that his father was this big bad emperor, since it could cloud his vision when it came to defeating him. His emotions could stop him from reaching his full potential, or he could have a "Rey moment" where he might think he's destined to be evil; stuff like that.
They are different scenarios, they objectively ARE retcons, but it still is very "in character" for both of em to act that way even if you consider the grander picture. Riku was an ignorant child, and you could say that Kenobi was afraid of Luke's reaction
@@Nachachus I mean the entire game supports it calling Sora the chosen one, if the voice was mickey guiding Sora along he was either just lying, which is honestly in character with all the aqua shit, but since its never actually stated that he lied to sora its more likely to be a retcon.
All this in the fact that multiple times he's refered too as THE keyblade bearer, and the fact every enemy in the game watches Sora specifically. The whole game is framed around the Chosen one concept so its defiantly framed more as a retcon in all reality.
It was retconned because it was a mistranslation. In Japanese Sora was only refered to as the hero chosen by the Keyblade, never Keyblade Master.

"I imagine some of them weren't even intended." They were all intended. They do the same thing in Disney World. There's a whole book written about hidden Mickey's. I have one that's out of date because new attractions have been added. There's not a hidden mickey that wasn't intended trust me.

@@qrowing Not really that weird of a choice considering doing voice over work for a video this long would require an hour or two of retakes, going through the entire audio file at least a couple times to make sure all the levels matched up right, and then there is the workflow which almost dictates that V.O. work has to be done first before any editing can be done. Probably saves him HOURS on each video. Over the course of a few videos you almost get the time to do another COMPLETE project in just time saved alone. Some people may not like the pronunciations but that's minor inconvenience considering how much information is packed into these IMO.
Yeah the voice over is the reason I think there’s so many mispronunciations. Makes it difficult to get through even though the subject matter is interesting.

HERE ALL MISTAKES AND FALSE STATEMENTS:
1. 9:05 Birth By Sleep was planned for ps2 and switched to psp not because they were "forced to", as stated in this video, but because the dev team wanted to implement some multiplayer element and that was easier with a PSP.
2. 11:17 Sora vanishes in KH3 because he overused the Power of Waking. Here in this video the narrator talks about him missing his heart, which is completely made up.
3. 12:58 The narrator talks about how Xemnas and Riku share a "striking resemblance" and yet the characters that appear on screen are Riku and Young Xehanort's models from KH3, which could not look any more different. I find this extremely funny.
4. 15:00 Yozora and Luxord seem to be native of Quadratum, a city existing in another dimension dubbed "unreality" by the characters. Here in this video the narrator claims it is another planet, which is completely false.
5. 21:08 Ava appears instead of Larxene as the other traitor of the Organization.
6. 22:57 Nomura being drunk while conceptualizing KH:Coded was proved to be a mistranslation.
7. 24:37 The cover art of KH2 foreshadows the sky and white geometrical structures of the Final World, certainly not the rock pillars of the Keyblade Graveyard.
8. 27:08 In Birth by Sleep it isn't Sora who states that his father brought him and Riku to the island, it was Riku.
9. 30:02 Ansem the Wise isn't Xehanort's Heartless, Xehanort isn't even a Nobody, this section is just a mess.
All these mistakes were really funny but please refrain yourself from making these kind of videos if you yourself don't know what you're talking about. Because now I'm led to believe that all of your iceberg videos are full of mistakes and errors.

The little boy in Traverse Town is definitely not Tidus. Tidus already appears on the Destiny Islands. Why would they change his design so drastically between the events on Destiny Islands and Sora waking in Traverse Town? I've always theorized that it's a simple matter of reused assets. Swap the color pallette, and you've got an entirely different character. A cheap but efficient strategy used commonly in video games even today.
Definitely just a pallet swap. There are a handful of recolored NPCs all over KH1. Some of which you can only see at very specific points in the game.
Dont forget, the one guy who we see loose his heart on the first TT visit becomes the shopkeeper after Cid leaves the accessory shop. Sora can even ask him "haven't i seen you before? " which directly 4th walls the fact that model had "died" earlier
@@TheInnerEvil You can also see him just before you leave Traverse Town for the first time. He's in the first district, outside of the door to the third district.
There's a recolor of him in Agrabah working inside one of the stalls, but only if you explore after defeating Jafar, but BEFORE leaving the world

With Sora in Smash and how beloved his inclusion is I hope Disney changes their mind and let Square develop that Kingdom Hearts Fighting Game we were robbed of.
They should test the waters and make a Disney fighting game with zero characters from/ connection to Kingdom Hearts, except maybe Sora as a guest character. If it performs strongly, make the KH fighting game. With both games having rollback AND a plethora of single-player/ offline content.
My guess is that Disney would male a fighting game to copy off Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. And with that they would probably add more Kingdom Hearts chacters
I am so ready for a KH fighting game where the story is we play as Kairi training with Aqua to become Keyblade Master. To do so, she sets off on her journey in the Disney worlds (which serve as stages) and fights whatever. She could also battle digital versions of many characters created by Sid like he did in Limit Cut, and eventually the "non-story" mode would allow you to play as all the characters. There's so much potential to make a fight KH game that CAN contribute to the lore (as Nomura loves doing) and be coherent gameplay-wise!
This series is so close to my childhood. Hundreds of hours into kh2 and COM on GBA. To this day I love it and still play all the games. Great video. Keep up the great content!
Quick note in the "Marluxia was originally female", with "they didn't wanted the 2 traitors to be female", it was referencing Larxene, not Ava.

I’d watch an animated series that followed the same story as the games. I don’t know what Disney is talking about, kh isn’t any darker than scar murdering his own brother. Or seeing the shadow of Clayton being strung up dead. Or that they like kill parents (often) as part of the plot in their movies. I like Disney but the too dark is bs. Most of the people that are into kh aren’t kids anymore but for fans that are, they probably seen darker material from Disney.

You know he theories comes from facts right? He is the most knowledgeable in the online community period.
I like to think Nomura already had the entire Dark Seekers Saga thought up, but with only Major characters and plot points idealized. Like Sora, Riku Kairi, the Days Trio, the BBS Trio, Xehanort, Ansem, etc. But along the way through telling it, he arranged it George Lucas Style, and thought of some stuff off the top of his head.
That's why even though the series can feel super random at times, everything makes sense. He always had the concepts of Nobodies, Data Realms, Dream Worlds, Unrealities, and Time Travel realized.
Like knowing that Organization 13 was gonna be a thing. But thinking of who to add as he went along. Deciding to link a few to the Union X Saga was probably on the fly. He could just tell 1 story within another.
Once FFVXIII was canceled, he probably decided "Well... I have the next arc of KH coming up... Fuck em. Yazora is in KH now and Luxord is his Chauffeur. I'll think of why later. For now Sora gets a card from him."
A couple more notes that most people don't know or don't notice:
- Riku and Rikku never meet once in the franchise and you'll never see them in the same scene addressing eachother's names.
- Sora is 14 in KH1, he's 15 in KH2 and KH3, meaning all the events between KH2 and KH3 happen within the same year. By contrast, Riku is 17 by KH3. (which means Sora has been gone from home for a whole year)
- Aqua has been 18 this entire time due to whatever timey wimey nonsense is going on in the Realm of Darkness, she would be around her late 20s or 30 by now.
- Kingdom Hearts had a weird pre-release special on the Disney Channel that no one remembers it seems, it's an odd commercial where someone who clearly sounds like the voice actor for Roxas narrating that sneaks into a secret Disney Lab to find information regarding Kingdom Hearts. There was a couple more from that era that are mostly lost to time it seems, but I did find this one on YT.
There is a lot of debate on Sora's age in KH3, but if you read codex entries in each game you'll learn that there was a year gap between KH2 and Dream Drop. In the Character Files entries for Terra, Ventus, and Aqua in Dream Drop, it states "One of three Keyblade wielders who played a pivotal role in a historic clash more than a dozen years ago." Meaning there are 12 years between the events of BBS and Dream Drop. In A Fragmentary Passage, Mickey informs Aqua that she has been in the realm of darkness for 10 years. Which means that there are 10 years between BBS and KH1. Therefore Sora is 15 in KH2, 16 in KH3, and will be 17 in the next installment.
@@JPzizzle The only time a significant amount of time passes is between Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Ending of KH CoM Sora is asleep for 358 days (358/2 Days). By the intro of Dream Drop Distance there is no difference between Sora's appearance by the start or the end of that game, he starts and ends in his KH2 attire, meaning that no time had passed while he was in the dream world, and KH3 starts immediately after 3DS as the credits scene suggests. This doesn't account for an entire year's worth of time.
Sora is about 4 years old in Birth By Sleep, ergo 10 years Aqua has been in the realm of darkness, so he'd be 14 by the start of KH1, 15 by KH2 due to the year's passage, and no time has passed between KH2 and KH3. You'd have to find a line that proves that time had passed between 3DS for Sora to be 16 by KH3, to be technical he's 16 post-KH3, not at the start.
At the start of Melody of Memory, Kairi goes into a deep sleep, similarly to how Sora did in CoM, which leaves us to believe that it's been a year since the start of it. Kairi is the same age as Sora, so both of them would be 16 by then. If KH4 starts after Melody of Memory, Sora would be still 16 unless we get some more timey wimey bullshit.
@@JPzizzle On a side note, Sora was still in his KH2 attire during it's intro. Note that 3DS happens literally right after KH2 nor did much time pass at all due to it happening in the realm of dreams (or whatever the name was). At the end of 3DS Sora still has his KH2 attire which leads us to the intro of KH3, so no time has passed either. What I'm getting at is that a highly insignificant amount of time passes between KH2 and KH3. As stated previously, the only times where a significant amount of time has passed is after CoM (one year after it's end, 358 days to be precise), and after Melody of Memory (one year, so probably the same as when Sora went to sleep). This accounts for both Sora and Kairi to be 15 during KH2 and KH3, and finally 16 post-KH3 and probably still 16 in KH4.
28:46 - Nomura confirmed that he came up with the rest of the story after figuring out a role for Xigbar, whom he had always intended to be important, so technically he's planned it since KH2. It's very likely KH2 because of Xigbar's Journal Entry, and the Birth By Sleep references in Final Mix. To answer the question, he didn't plan it directly from the beginning.
Donald has stated, that the magic of Donald changes the uniform in some worlds so they could fit in and not to distrup the world order. Also the first time when the Trio got into the world of Captain jack sparrow, Sora got hyped up and told Donald and Goofy how much he loves pirates. There was a small scene, where Donald had a quite thoughful expression when he heard that. In KH3 Sora got his own pirate costume, which made him very happy. And again you could see Donalds smile.
I think that Donalds magic changes the outfits, but he has not fully control how it outcomes. (Maybe because he hasn't learn it how to control it)
Like in the one part in KH2 or KH1 Donald said:"This is not how magic works!" when Sora wanted a specific outfit.
Another example is in Lion King, when Donald was just another form, more naturally looking, bird. Or Like Ventus, Terra and Aqua didn't change any form for a world...(not that they needed to, but just for an example)
Like in Dream Drop distance Sora or Rikus outfit didn't change one bit, because there weren't in the "real" worlds.
THEY PLANNED TREASURE PLANET?! Awww...it would've been so cool if they had keep it... Treasure planet is one of my favourite movies! And it would make sense story wise! In the movie itsself it's about changing locations to find the big treasure. And seeing Sora using the glider would be soooo cool!

I never understood people being confused about Namine.
It tells you in 2 of the games that while she's is Kairi's Nobody, she was born from Sora releasing his heart. Which is why she also had the power to rewrite only Sora's memory.

It states at the beginning of CoM that ANYONE who enters the castle, loses more of their memory the deeper they go. Which is what happens to Donald and Goofy.
But Sora doesn't lose his memory. He keeps them, but she changes them so that instead of Kairi, it was always Namine that he grew up with.
@@getshwifty3101 That whole thing about people losing their memories when they go to Castle Oblivion was a lie by the organisation so Sora and the gang didn't suspect anything when they started losing their memories. Namine doesn't just have power over Sora's memories, she has power over all of the memories of the people that Sora has interacted with too (literally said by Namine herself in KH2 and I believe in the Ansem reports as well although I could be wrong about the reports) So, when everyone starts losing their memories in Castle Oblivion, it's Namine's doing for all of it which also explains why the organisation members don't lose their memories even though they often stay on the highest floor.

The only way of effected Donald and Goofy were the memories OF Sora.
In KH2, everyone says that even they all forgot about Sora for a while (which is when she put him to sleep to restore what she messed up) and didn't remember about him until the moment he woke up in Twilight Town.
So if that was the case, you could say she had control over EVERYONE'S memories. But she doesn't. It's literally only Sora's memories (even if it's just memories linked to Sora via him being apart of the memory) that she has power of.

But how do you explain the organisation members who travel throughout the castle and remain on the highest levels almost all the time and they DON'T lose their memories? Also with Aqua, when she turned The Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion, why didn't she lose any of her memories? Every bit of memory loss was caused by Namine, Marluxia just told Sora that it was the Castle's doing so he wouldn't suspect them of manipulating his memories.
I wouldn't say Luxu is being set up as the next villain of the series. Despite constantly being a double and triple agent as Xigbar, Luxu is loyal to the Master of Masters and both are definitively on the side of light

Riku vs. Rikku
There's more to it than that. Riku is the reason Rikku isn't in KH1. Rikku was intended to be in KH in the original plans; most likely in Destiny Island, since Tidus, Wakka and Rikku are often put together in FFX segments (they are, for instance, the only characters capable of swimming and are forced together for at least one swimming boss fight). Since that would have had two Riku/Rikku characters with nearly identical names in the same place, they instead planned to have her in Hollow Bastion with Squall/Leon and Aeris. But since this STILL would caused name confusion since Sora would have just left one Riku to meet another Rikku, they ended up removing her entirely and replacing her with Yuffie, whose attitude and identity as a 'genki girl' was similar. They finally did include her in KH2 as a member of the Gullwings with Yuna and Paine, and also made them fairies, so this minor YRP cameo allowed them to totally skate over the name similarities.

Not really. It depends on whether they heard the right pronunciation prior or not. Most of the time people just read the names the way they think fits.
Its because this is being read by a text-to-Speech and those are terrible at pronouncing names, especially the made up names that make up half this franchise.
For the Riku and Rikku Thig: Rikku was planed to be in KH1, but because of the names and possibly confusion she was cut. She does appear in KH2.

Regarding princesses of hearts and nobody, I would like to point out that while it is true princesses of heart cannot create a heartless because there is no darkness in their hearts, they can totally create a Nobody. Nobodies are unrelated to the concepts of light and darkness, they're just the remnants of the body of someone who lost their heart. Princesses of heart are not excluded from this process.

I really REALLY hope KH4 has an in-depth final fantasy-esque plot rather than the simple dumbed down plot of KH3. I really think the studio should hire a writer from the FF franchise. I didn't enjoy KH3 nearly as much as 1and 2.

Most of the theories discussed in this video are dubious but Master of Masters is Sora's mom because MOM and the lack of details about his parents? Seriously? With how convoluted the story has become for this series, I certainly hoped for more interesting theories.
I think I started that theory. Eventually it grew to the Organization being afraid of Sora's mom because she could curbstomp all of them except Xigbar who'd be exempt from getting curbstomped on account of *SPOILERS FOR POST CREDIT SCENE FOR THE END OF KH3*

Another neat little thing is that simple and clean sounds pretty similar a song by Stevie wonder called "I just called to say I love you". The first singing notes are exactly the same lol.
George newbern is my favorite voice of sephiroth, he was the voice in dissidia and crisis core and has also the voice of Superman for some animated movies and the injustice series!
No matter how much praise the second game has over its actual good combat system, no game in the series will ever get the atmosphere of the very first Kingdom Hearts game, there is nothing quite like it in any other game in the entire franchise.
It also has the best balance between FF and Disney characters.
I think exactly the same!! 2 and 3 are more fun in terms of gameplay but no Kingdom Hearts is like the first one, hence why it's my favorite. I was so happy and surprised when I saw Sora in Smash in his KH1 outfit, I thought they would go for the KH2 one since it's the most iconic

I don't really agree, to me the second game improved everything upon the first. Even the story was still well put together, even if the beginning was confusing. I had more moments of amazement while experiencing the worlds of KH2.
I think I have to split my agreement between you both. The first time playing the first game was magical. I played it another 3 (and part of a 4th playthrough) times. I enjoyed it, but the first part of the game is really kind of laggy and slow, even if it builds up nicely with the hints at the Disney villains. Indeed, the "recap" for it in the intro to KH2 has Sora jump off the tree on Destiny Islands...and land at Hollow Bastion, because most of the major story and reveals of the first game happens after that point. Up until then, you were traveling to Disney worlds without a particularly clear objective other than "lock their hearts to prevent darkness" (yet somehow, more darkness comes in later anyway) after fighting the main villain of that Disney world's movie, but after Bastion, you start to see the real story take shape.
KH2 the first time playing was magical. So was the second. The third is when it had the falloff. You could tell Nomura wasn't sure if the first game was going to be a success, but once it was, he really got into story, mystery, hints, and leaving unanswered questions to address in future games and give players things to ponder over and theorize about. The combat system was probably the best in the series, true, but it had both mystery AND familiarity in measure. Going to Radiant Garden felt like going to a friend's home/safe place, with familiar faces to talk to. A few of the worlds felt like meeting friends again, while others were first time ventures. And there was consistent mystery and unknown questions being brought up to consider and press players to want to keep playing to see how the story would evolve.
I think the only other game in the series I really really liked was Birth By Sleep, and arguably the STORY of Union Cross...which was probably aided by me starting and beating the game in 4 days before the finale came out and then playing through that as well. That pace gave me a constant influx of story instead of playing the same Agrabah map over and over over the course of literal years...which would not have been nearly as enjoyable or story rich as getting 95% of the narrative all at once over 4 days.
Kh3 was a lot like KH1 in that nothing REALLY consequential happened until the last world (though there were a lot of "throwaway lines" tossed about to not be answered, such as the 4 Org members having a "sleeping Keyblade legacy", only two of which we know, and only from Union Cross...) There were a few fun things, like the open ocean freedom of Pirates' world. But much of the rest was kinda busywork that didn't really develop story or plot. Which, in a way, was like the first half of KH1...but without the novelty...
I'm hoping the next game is more like KH2/BBS/UC(in overall story, not gameplay or story as it was released on live) and like KH2 in feel. I'm not sure it's possible to capture that KH1 novelty lightning in a bottle a second time...
...but if it COULD be done...I would certainly not complain!

13:10 A Heartless doesn't need to be created in order for a Nobody to be made, nor does darkness have anything to do with it; only the heart needs to be removed while the soul and body remain, which the latter two then become the Nobody. That's what happens to Kairi either at the beginning of KH1, or at the end depending on your perspective. Either way, Namine's existance is entirely normal within the universe

Rikku's name in FFX japanese is pronounced Ryukku, not Riku. Riku's name in japanese is the word for Land.
However, Rikku was originally supposed to be the exact same role as Yuffie in KH1, but because the names of the characters were so similar, she was changed to Yuffie.

17:12 while to english speakers these names may seem to be pronounced the same these names are pronounced differently in Japanese. Theyre still very similar mind you, but its not a difference in how hard you pronounce the K, double consonants in Japanese denote a skipping sound. In katakana theyd be spelled リク(Riku) and リック (Rikku). While english speakers probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference Japanese speakers definitly would. That being said they still cut Rikku out of being in destiny islands and replaced her with Selphie certainly due to the fact of the name similarities.
