For 30+ years I've heard people talking about slowing down, not swinging as hard, and getting better results. I'd never bought into it that much because I never real thought about or had explained to me exactly what was meant by that or the logical reasoning behind it. Then I stumbled upon Trevor's channel and was immediately drawn to his lessons because of his great talent for explaining the mechanics and logical reasoning. It may be like a "duh" sort of thing to many, but Trevor's explanation of how much faster the hands move than the body, the 6 to 1 ratio, and how as a consequence you need to give your body a head start, just like lit a freakin light bulb for me. In the last week or so I've been really trying to put it into practice to sloooooow my down swing. Slowing down, and to a lesser extent a little bowing/flexion of my lead wrist when hittong irons, has really improved my game. I'm hitting my driver farther and straighter. Same with my irons, which fly higher now as well. Now today, over 30 years since I last broke 90, and often shooting triple digits thevlast several years, I broke 90 again! And I know I can do it again and again because it wasn't luck. Thanks for your unique way of teaching, Trevor.
So grateful to hear this and I can’t think enough the compliments, feedback, support and detail in your own personal story! Thank you! trevor, i just got to try what you explained in my backyard off my practice mat and wiffle balls, [don't laugh]. it made a big difference with my arm structure and ball striking. i get to try it in action tomorrow for real in my golf league. i'm 74 yrs old and a 13 hdcp. thnx for the help.
Another awesome video Trevor. Plain English. I get turn around with all that supination, flexion, extension, ulnar, etc. The Tee up Tee down is so clear. Thanks for making these instructional videos for every golfer and aspiring golfer.
Great video. Got no problem with keeping the tee (elbow) pointing up at the top of the back swing. I just have to work on keeping it that way through the contact point. Your half swing punch shot is something I'll work on at the range today. Thanks
Thank you and glad this helped! Working on this feel through impact is a great way to gain a feel for this!!! Let me know if you have any questions or need anything!! TS
i have trouble pulling my right elbow behind me like you have shown and i've been trying to improve the action. i know this is gonna help and will try it tomorrow, thnx.
Excellent. I set up like your instruction, but at times fail to maintain the correct elbow position throughout. This will be a focus of mine during my next practice. Thank you
Hi, thanks for this - I can see how this is important, however can you give some insights on how to square the club face? I find that my club face is open at impact when I do this. Should that be taken care of with grip (mine is neutral) or is there a specific release pattern to square the club - or something else like rotation? Many thanks.
Thanks for the comment and feedback here! If your grip is neutral this will definitely work! Release patterns I would say are extremely important and also things that need to be trained! Feel like the “V” between your thumb and index finger stay on top of the grip from P6-P8! Hope this helps and thanks for feedback again!
I have been doing this recently in downswing with some success. But I have been unsure as to whether to replicate on backswing and also wasn’t sure whether to hold on to that feeling post impact.

The first thing I’d make sure of is that your pressure isn’t to far and that the upper body isn’t in front of the lower body in transition. This can cause the hand path to pitch out. Hard to say without seeing you motion. Happy to jump on a consultation call with to discuss if you’d like: calendly.com/trevorsalzmangolf/free-15-minute-consultation

Awesome! Let me know how it works and if you have any questions!!! 👊👊👊
so when would we release the club?
The forearm can still release with the elbow being in this position. I’d would not say I’d want this to be a hold off move

Way too kind of you! Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏🙏

Awesome! When working on keep the trail arm width in and it should swing more on a constant radius! 👊👊👊
