I’ve used Clip for years now and I’m always so excited when someone tries it out!!! Also, is the lineart brush you use one that you downloaded? Because the texture of it combined with the soft coloring in your work is GORGEOUS and I feel so inspired rn!!!
as a paint tool sai user; it was (and still is) insanely hard for me to get used to this program, everything is so different and drawing in the program is something i'm still learning how to do, but i do like it!
theres an asset in the store that is completely free and it colors in your lines for you, no blobs needed, just select the asset in the lasso area, set the line art to a reference layer, make a layer under the line art, then use it wear you want to color it in. i’m not good at explaining it, but you might be able to find it in a Kooleen art tip video.

its really interesting seeing the perspective of an inspirational artist (for me) reviewing a program i already use. ive been using it for way over a year now but still found this video so interesting :)
When I first started CSP it was wild very confusing to me when it came to customizing my work space and all the small things hidden away in little off tabs was wild I loved it yes but it was a definite learning curve since it was my first purchased program

Your process is so fun to see progress as the drawing gets more and more finished - About clip studio paint, my experience with it was definitely overwhelming as it was the FIRST drawing program I had ever tried. (It came with the wacom tablet i got) unfortunately i cannot go back to it now that im more experienced, but I definitely get what you mean about all those buttons and having no idea what they mean
This video made me finally make up my mind about buying the program and hopefully using it to improve. I'm still quite new and have been using photoshop to try learn how to do digital art but it has just been more annoying then anything as I also use photoshop for actual image editing of photos I take with my phone irl and I have to re adjust some parts of it every time I swap between image editing and drawing. Thank you for the helpful video and hope to see you use it in the future to try and achieve further goals and reach beyond your imagination in what you make.

I literally wanted to get CSP and while I was trying out the trial version, the bombshell of the subscription service dropped. So if I decide to get CSP, it's definitely only gonna be when 2.0 comes out, because the 60$ for 1.0 would be a total waste. But it's really a **** move to have people pay for version 2.0 AND make them get a monthly subscription for the 2.x updates.

I mean kind of, you get to keep V1 without a subscription and V1 has pretty much all the features you need. It’s just with V2 and V3 you pay upfront then a subscription for the additional updates which is still pretty scummy.
@@jenixelle8298 yeah, but how long is V1 gonna work before the software of your device changes too much? With every software update they’d need to update V1 too (which I don’t think they will) or else it’ll get buggy or might not work at all.
@@spine1706 that is true, but the thing is, with dropped support that only means they wont do bug fixes. and i have had friends that used softwares that similar things happened, and it takes ab 5-10 years for the software to actually fully break. dropped support doesnt mean its gonna break as soon as v3 drops but ill say its far more likely the software lasts for ATLEAST 6 more years after the supports dropped unless windows drops a fatass update that breaks many many more old apps which is very unlikely
when i went to a friends house a while back, i got to try clip studio paint (and a drawing tablet) for the first time! it was a lil confusing as i use ibis paint but it was really fun!

Thanks for the review. Sounds like you're sticking with PS as your main tool. I'm subscribing to CSP because I only so simple illustrations and its cheaper.

I used Photoshop for decades. Stopped using it because overall expense is too much. I hate subscription plans for work applications. Clip Studio Paint gives you a much bigger bang for your buck. We need more companies rivaling Adobe because they gouge the crap out of their products.
@@beefwhale I know that. It feels like a betrayal. I've even dropped money for the EX version so I can animate. I'm currently using Affinity and CSP. I'll probably move to Affinity alone once CSP decides to intentionally break their 1.0 version of the app, which will probably be in the near future.
@@yamchayaku i dont understand why people believe it will be so soon. A lot of old software that is no longer supported is still used by artists nowadays. Clip studio v1 is certanly still going to work fine for years and the subscription is for v2 not v1 so dont worry about it ma man :0

They're still offering one-time purchase. You can still the V1 perpetual license. I plan to do that, and upgrade to V3 later down the line.

nah, its just how purchasing software used to work with an extra option to get more features over time before the next version for a subscription
