So elated to see this. I'm 53, and a comic book nerd since my early teens. This is the single greatest 'superhero/comic book' movie of all time. And I'm predominantly a Marvel guy. But this movie is outstanding. And watching Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance as the Joker still brings tears to my eyes to this day. Just so... perfect. Brilliance all around with this one. I hope you like it.
I remember when Ledger was cast and everyone was losing their minds calling it bad casting. I was one of the few Batman fans who thought it was a good choice because I remembered how well he disappeared into the role of Skip Engblom in Lords of Dogtown. Let’s face it, Jack Nicholson was the Joker and anyone trying to copy that performance would have fallen flat. I knew that Ledger would at least try something new and hopefully interesting. And he didn’t disappoint. It remains one of the greatest performances of all time.
Yep. Exactly. Shows you how much the general public knows. Nolan needed a brilliant and fearless actor and he knew what Ledger was capable of. The rest is history.
@@cyruswhitley7840 I thought of Ledger as an actor who did romantic drivel, and furthermore (because I didn't see it until well after release) that everyone was fawning over him just because he died. Then I saw the movie and he blew me the f&$# away. Unbelievable performance. I was totally wrong.
@@adamwells9352That’s cause you didn’t watch A Knight’s Tale or The Patriot. And if you did you wouldn’t be saying this drivel! He was perfectly cast and Nolan knew what he was doing.
There is no way "everyone was losing their mind". Ledger and his Joker literally introduced that concept into pop culture with this movie 😊 so if at all they went all nuts or crazy.
Great Reaction...... "How I Got these Scars?" - Even in the comics, Joker has told so many versions of the story it isn't clear if the Joker even remebers the real story........ During the Hospital scene, When Joker is walking and the Explosions pause, and Joker slaps the remote and they begin again was unscripted..... There was a unplanned delay in the sequence..... Heath played it off Perfectly....
sadly I thought it true too for about 2 years... there is a clip here on yt where there is a mark where he stops and taps the remote control a couple of times!its filmed elevated from the left of the camera filming Heath!
29:10 Yeah, the "MCU" thing can be confusing, today. But when this movie came out, i don't think Marvel was calling it MCU yet. Only Iron Man had come out (Maybe Incredible Hulk too). In this movie, "MCU" just means "Major Crimes Unit" 😉
Tbf people been complaining abt the voice a lot, but I think if batman didn't change his voice someone would definitely recognize it. Half of of the reason isn't just to try to be intimidating, but to disguise himself. Those people who hate it don't figure it out, I think.
@@SatrioWibisono-o3m All the technology his company makes/owns, the bat vehicles, the sonar in his suit, all the built in suit gadgets etc. but for some reason they couldn't implement some type of voice changer into his suit?? Come on. Having him make his own voice was the dumbest idea Christopher Nolan has ever had 🤣🤣🤣 The voice complaint is valid. People know that he changes his voice so he isn't recognized. The complaint is about HOW he went about doing it.
Certainly the greatest super hero film, and... yeah, the best in the the trilogy. But The Dark Knight Rises is still my favorite. I sure hope y'all do more DC after 😉 Great reaction as ALWAYS!
This film always reminds me of how much I love Point Break. Would love to see Maya's reaction to Pfeiffer's catwoman one day. She was next level. Oh and The Rock..now that's a cool film.
20:55 he is not in Prisoners, you're thinking of Paul Dano (who interestingly is in The Batman). This actor is David Dastmalchian, whose body of work is also quite impressive, including appearances and voiceover work on other Batman shows.
15:36 the great Patrick Leahy, as a Democrat he's a former Senator of the Vermont from 1975-2023. As huge fan of the Batman comic books, which he still collects, along with this role he's made cameo appearances in Batman Forever, Batman: The Animated Series, Batman & Robin, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman v Superman.
Maya watching when Batman's Batpod came out was priceless! love it! yes, that was sick!! :D TDK is truly a great film!! (maybe the best super heroe´s film ever made). ;D
6:43 It was a reference to the previous movie. THIS is the same restaurant he said he would buy, and change the rules, (in response to being kicked out, because his 2 dates got drunk n started stripping) 😂
After this trilogy it would be fun to see a reaction to American Psycho and The Professional. Just think those would be pretty fun contrasts if you haven't seen them. Maya seeing Prisoners kinda threw me for a loop.
why does everyone think rachel was sleeping with her previous boss? i never got that, what i got was that he had a thing for her and she rejected him. they certainly never made it completely clear either way, but the vibe i got was he was trying to get with her, and failing.
Definitely a Movie ahead of its time. Amazing Reactions. 👏 Amazing Job Gareth 👍 I Love You Maya 😍 Definitely no reach arounds here! Lmfao 😅🤣😂 Priceless 😅
I just realized the fake Batman in the middle is Cillian Murphy, the actor that played Scarecrow in Batman Begins. Why lol?! That's so confusing. See: 3:25
3:53 yeah actually there’s comedy skit, when Batman suddenly disappeared, he just hiding under tha table 😂 5:26 Two differently organized bookshelves, hmmm
the discussion on the ferries with the detonator is so stupid. They are pretending there are just convicts on that boat, what about the guards and boat crew though? Gonna blow them up too?
Bale is the best Batman, I do love The dark Knight rises more than this one though but that’s probably because the actors are amazing, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon Levitt 🙌🏻
The Dark Knight is the greatest superhero movie of all time
Lets not get carried away now.
It's definitely up there
I agree, Bobby. It still hasn't been surpassed. It is the standard
The truth is the truth....thank you for telling it like it is
@mrbrightside2937 Idk have u seen The Shadow starring Alec Baldwin?

There is some epic sass in this reaction. Love it.
Thanks for watching 😂
I just love to see parents and children hanging out/bonding together
Appreciate the precious moments
Thanks for watching, we are having a blast
Tom"Tiny" Lister played the prisoner who threw the detonator away in the last role I saw him in. In "The Fifth Element," he was President of Earth.
Additionally, his characters’ neck tattoo is a subtle reference to the DC villain Black Mask.

I don't like Bale's batvoice, but I genuinely think he's the only live actor who's nailed playing both Bruce and Batman.

His Bruce Wayne was good but I really didn't like his Batman

@18:59 Nestor Carbonell, the one playing the mayor, doesn't wear eyeliner, that's just how he looks.

Fantastic Joker Heath Ledger
Joker : If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice

Great call. Both of those are absolute must see's. For different reasons... lol
Maya, you were way too adorable and cute when the bat bike ejected.

Kudos for the film not starting with "It was a dark and stormy Knight".
Great movie
34:55 That was an easter egg for Adam West (if you read too much into it) 😅
I appreciated that haha
1,000 likes and Gareth grows a mustache.

Ya'll are kinda really funny
Nice intro music
@@JoshMc420 thanks :) that a wee song of mine called Enemy
Just to say, everyone seems to really love this film but I never really got it.
@@budweiser600 that's interesting, can you say why? Cuz I couldn't stand the newest Batman...but in all honesty I don't know why
@@mayaandgareth Honestly, I'm not sure. Never really got more than an hour into it. _ I know it's considered a classic. Can I recommend Interstellar.
@@budweiser600 ha that's sort of how I feel bout the Robert Pattinson Batman film the :) Interstellar's, definitely on the list cheers
