Initially, the Joker was intended to appear in 'The Dark Knight Rises', but following Heath Ledger's death, the script was altered to omit any mention of the character. Christopher Nolan believed that recasting the Joker would be a disservice to Ledger's memory.
Talia gave him a clue when bruce escaped with Lucius and batwoman and bruce said I will never forget you , miranda.... Talia said to him , " Do what's necessary " to bruce ...which was her father's favorite line always to bruce... foreshadowing of her turn.
So much fun to watch your reactions to great movies. It's like watching with my kids again. My son's probably about Gareth's age. When my kids were young, I introduced them to a lot of great older movies and then at one point they started introducing me to a whole new generation of great movies.
It's a long post, but bear with me: In the comics, Ra's al-Ghul is LITERALLY immortal due to these Fountains of Youth-like pools known as Lazarus Pits - which can fully restore or resurrect anyone that's sick, mortally wounded, or even dead. Also, it is only Bane that was raised in a prison, sentenced there from birth to pay for his father's crimes. However, it's an island prison in South America called Santa Prisca - Bane, by the way, is supposed to be Latino. Also, in the comic books, Bane's mask connects to a button on his chest and tank on his back filled with an illegal drug called Venom. When the button is pushed it turns the liquid gas into an inhalent, this causes the user to increase in size - particularly muscle mass/strength. And so what I love about this is how they use the Lazarus Pits in a realistic way by combining it with Bane's prison. The pit IS the prison - and the immortality is metaphorical - Ra's al-Ghul's immortality did rise up from the pit - in the form of his own progeny. And I know this off-topic, but you know all those ANTI "woke" people who just love to complain about "race swapping" characters when it comes to "swapping" from a white character to a non-white character, but if you race swap a non-white character (i.e., Bane) TO white... all of a sudden they're hypocrites. Those bigots/morons are as silent as Helen Keller on the swap.
In the classic comic book Batman A Death In The Family Joker killed the second robin Jason Todd. Ra's al-Ghul's daughter Talia resurrected Jason Todd using her father's Lazarus Pit. Jason Todd then returned to Gotham taking up the name Joker first used The Red Hood.
3,000 is a lot. Don't let anyone tell you different. ESPECIALLY when you're STARTING OUT, when you're building your brand. And trust me, I don't think it will take long for y'all to get up there... Not when you're such wonderful, enjoyable, FUNNY reactors. Maya, you're such sweet and beautiful young woman, and Gareth is a... Well, to put it less rudely as I normally would, Gareth is a DILF.
Scarecrow was dedicated to cause fear; Joker, to cause chaos; and Bane to cause desperation: the Unholy Trinity of Evil. Christopher Nolan is a true genius. And I love this Catwoman by a reason: she's not a damsel in distress looking for a (dark) knight to save her. Anne Hathaway is supreme in this movie.
Im hoping both of you don't know this one... But well worth the journey... Tarsem Singh made a movie in 2006 that is getting rereleased now. The Fall. Other wonderful things to enjoy... 1. Snowpiercer 2. Monkey Man 3. Strange Darling 4. Coherence 5. The Fall (2006) And Up is a great animated film if you havent seen it.
Love all your Batman reactions, thank you!!! 😁 "Men can cry, don't be so feminist" 🤣🤣🤣 EDIT: Rewatching this, I'm now curious what's the word censored with the cat sounds 😅
Ive now watched a bunch of your reviews they are very enjoyable. But having your daughter on here, and I realize you're probably around my age and realizing i could also have raised an adult yet instead i have just squandered my years passing time.
Tons of British actors in this doing American accents. Some of the best actors to do it, but no one beats the Oldman at it. And sometimes you can spot the British writing, "I had to find a way to stop them trying to kill me". Well I mean American's don't speak like that. We say "to stop them FROM trying to kill me". Or they'll say a word like "anythin", leaving off the g. It's just funny when an American actor doesn't tell the British director that what they're saying doesn't sound American. Just something I've noticed in films. Joseph Gordon Levitt became Batman..so why the hell did Nolan name him Robin?
The only real plot hole that ive found in the storytelling is that Bane supposedly escaped as a child but then they talk about him being back in the prison as an adult when he is attacked by other inmates resulting in him requiring the mask. If he escaped as a child why was he back there as an adult?
It's interesting that you think that Ben Mendelsohn's American accent was bad. This gives me an opportunity to ask about something I've always wondered. It sounds to me like you two are from... Scotland? Do I have that right? I'm not very good at placing accents. I'm an American and I thought it was fine. I guess I might have figured out that he was not American but it does not jump out. Almost every time I've ever heard and English, Scottish or Irish actor do an American accent, they always sound very accurate to me. I mean almost across the board. I cannot tell you how many times I was shocked to hear an English actor speak in their actual accent on a talk show or something. I usually never know that they are not American. Yet almost every time I hear an American actor do an English, Scottish, or Irish accent, it sounds just awful to me. I mean even the best American actors. Some of my favorite actors, they just sound wrong. I am wondering if it is the opposite for people from the UK/British Isles area. Do you almost always cringe every time you hear an actor from your part of the world try to do an American accent. Do American actors doing English/Scottish/Irish accents often sound good to you?
Dayum this was along wait. lol Definitely my favorite Batman Movie. Bane is definitely my favorite villain. In the Theater when Bane was shot i jumped up and yelled F' No! Lmao I don't like Catwomen. 😅 Definitely Amazing Film 🎥 This is my favorite Dark Knight Rises Movie Reaction!!! I love you Maya 💘 Amazing Movie Pick Gareth 👏

Hey, can I just make a quick few suggestions to my new favorite, burgeoning reactors? The Witches of Eastwick Mermaids The Addams Family and its first sequel, The Addams Family Values Mask (1985, starring Cher - NOT the Jim Carrey comedy "The Mask") Clue (1985, comedy /mystery based on the boardgame Clue/Cluedo) Prometheus/Alien: Covenant (prequels to the Alien franchise) Other great ones: Longlegs the Scream franchise (1-6) I Know What You Did Last Summer and its first sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and the Saw franchise.
Dear God I've watched this movie a thousand times and I've never recognized Christopher Judge playing a mercenary I love Stargate both SG1 and Atlantis

This is so cool. I can’t wait to show my daughter some of the greatest movies out there when she’s old enough. Keep it up!
Talia gave him a clue when bruce escaped with Lucius and batwoman and bruce said I will never forget you , miranda.... Talia said to him , " Do what's necessary " to bruce ...which was her father's favorite line always to bruce... foreshadowing of her turn.

Thank you so much for watching, getting to share these films with my daughter has been so fun I love it!!
Tom Hardy: I wonder what Mike Tyson would sound like, in a mask?
Mike Tyson? Is Darth Vader.

I thought this movie was all over the place ,story wasn't very good, but I get it is hard to make a third movie just as good as the second one
I love how your dad was saying you have to like Glenn Powell (I don’t like him either) this is my favourite Batman 😍
Exactly, hehe :)) He's just a lil stinker to me, I don't know why 🥲 - M
Saludos desde la República Dominicana excelente video 🇩🇴🫂👏👍

Plot hole? You obviously missed the plot twist! Not Bane escaped, Talia did.
@josefhorndl3469 no I got that part my guy. I was talking about specifically as it relates to the writing.
I not only liked this movie...I actually thought it was "groovy."
Bane is awesome 😎

Dear God I've watched this movie a thousand times and I've never recognized Christopher Judge playing a mercenary I love Stargate both SG1 and Atlantis
Ha yeah I was blown away. I miss Stargate
I still watch them SG1 on tv and Atlantis on MGM streaming service
It's the weakest of the trilogy but it was still good to conclude the trilogy so Bruce can have a happy ending
