I put a motorhome radiator in my 83 crew cab dually after I stretched the frame to put a 15 ft utility bed on it and a 4 bolt main motorhome 454 I had punched out and hopped up to keep it 210 while pulling a trailer of scrap iron with a 12k lb truck in the summer had to notch the hood you could check the coolant without popping the hood
I was hoping the crane would have a problem and not stop lifting ,, I see I was correct ,,the RV needs a few rolls of flex tape lol ,, thought maybe you would have cut the front off the rv with a saw but that way was perfect ,,
@@johnle231 if you want to put it back in mine we pulled the front seats rolled the carpet back dropped the trans pulled the passenger door put the cherry picker through the door brought the 250k 305 out pull the exhaust manifolds and fan off the low mileage 454 drop it in and make headers for the outside of the frame go with a low profile electric water pump a wide 4 core radiator with dual puller fans and if you put a trans cooler in it add a pusher fan between it and the grill if scrapping the van rip the body off pull the body bolts first and use straps to the van for a storage shed personally I prefer to use school bus bodys and their frames for dumptrucks or rollbacks with shortened boxed frame and wheellift
@@davidwoermansr I’m gonna strip the engine of the components that are ran by the belt and everything top of engine. Then I’m gonna unbolt the flex plate, fuel, exhaust manifolds and then remove the engine from the side door
Random question if you have a 7.4l in your motorhome you just bought and don't want to pull parts to look for parts numbers can you order parts from the same year from a Chevy 3500 same engine
I actually have to pull mine out of the same rv (dodge titan 1976 class a 22'). Wouldn't it have been easier to lift the van up ? Might not have looked as cool. Our plan is to try and fit a 95 dodge pickup Cummings 12 valve, I'm hoping it has the mechanical p pump and not the electronic rail type.
F*ck yeah guys, best engine pull i’ve ever seen. I just pulled a Dodge 440 out of a motorhome by cutting the front end off under the windshield. Unfortunately i had to maintain the vehicle to be used as a shed, otherwise i’d have done this 😂
I always receive critics from my two Sons, saying that Im more demolition than repair man , I mess many fragile parts because Im not patience , But if I show them this video , My two Sons will huge me and ask me to forgive them, 😂😂.
@John Le some of them, you jack them up and unbolt the front suspension, roll it out of the way, use a truck transmission jack to let the engine down. Some of them, you really are supposed to take them out the side door. Sane people do not work on motorhomes.
I used an excavator with a thumb took less than 5 minutes to have the body removed and ready to pull bolts for the engine and trans removal after the radiator trans cooler and electric pusher and dual puller fans were removed
Looks like it worked to me personally I use an excavator with a thumb start at the back and have the body off in under 5 minutes then pull bolts to pick the engine and trans in the truck bed with my utility truck crane
Hands down by far the best engine pull out of a motorhome I’ve ever seen. roadkill eat your heart out.

It'll bolt right up.
You'll need plexiglass to duct tape the sunroof on and the floor and doghouse
