Didn't realise there were so many ways to clear a blocked washer nozzle. Good fixes for those annoying times when the jets either don't work at all or spray in the wrong direction. Thanks for heads-up.
Hello Stephen.Well explained and thankyou. When I was younger I remember a neigbour had this trouble with his old Cortina. He resorted to using Drain Cleaner and agitation which worked well.Be wary and protect your eyes and hands.
Your lessons are fantastic and the way you teach is just funtastic. Thank you. Can you please deal with water clogging from wind shield / bonnet and dripping over the engine [damaging the electicals]. Gracie
That's my weekend sorted. I've been meaning to clean my rear screen washer. Now I know how, especially using household items. Thanks Stephen. Love your videos.
Great explanation - and entertaining! On my old Getz the nozzles were clear, but there was an airlock or something in the main tube: blowing down it and running the pump while blocking and unblocking pipe with my thumb fixed things. I would have hesitated to pull off pipes until seeing your video! Appreciated.
Hi there. Just seen your video. Nice easy to follow methods. Well done. My method is also simple based on prevention rather than cure. Every time I descale my kettle rather than discard the solution I pour it into a tub and allow to cool and put my washer jets in the solution for about 10 min. After thorough rinse with fresh water re-install jets. Been doing this for years and it must work as never had a blocked jet.
Something to add preceding all of the great unblocking tips would be to check the water reservoir is not empty. If there is no water in the reservoir it may appear to be blocked, many thanks and contrafibularites Jason 😊
Thanks for passing on the guitar string idea! On my '19 Ford Connect, the fluid literally goes through the wiper axel, and the jet is not removable. A 010 string did the trick. I knew I had it when the built up pressure squirt me in the face.
Lol, some elements of this video made me chuckle. 😂 it’s always best to know the tips and tricks. I think the front washer jets on my car are a different kind of design. I miss this kinds of washers.
Hahaha i thought i was the only one who used a sewing needle to clear the washer jets. When i go at it from the underneath i wedge a drinking straw over the port and blow through it to clear it. I might try the dental brush next time! 🤣🤣🤣
Great stuff, thanks for the advice. Your style reminds me of Ed China (wheeler dealers). Difference being is you can actually fit inside the vehicle you're working on!

Thank you, Mark. My grandfather had a few Cortinas. Perhaps he used drain cleaner, too! Hope you're well.

Thank you for the kind words and the video suggestion. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Love your three methods to unblock your washer jets. Think I would be able to do that when needed.
Glad the video helped, Anne.
What a brilliant idea mine on the left isn't as good as the drivers side, so tomorrow I will have a go, you have a good weekend mate
Sounds good. Let me know if you need to borrow the fuse wire! Enjoy your weekend too, Ian.
Another good video.
Being working class I don't think I've ever seen white vinegar. 😃
Thank you, Nta16. Perhaps white vinegar only exists in myth!
@@CarSpyTV obviously posh 'ouses 'ave it. 😄
It's too posh for the likes of me, guv!

Excellent info, Keith. Thank you. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
I used white vinger and needle to up my car's washer jet and it worked! Thanks
You're welcome and best wishes from CarSpyTV.

What a pain!
Brilliant thank you. MOT tomorrow and one washer is blocked. Will try to see which method works. 😊
You're welcome. More videos to follow. Good luck with the MOT.

Thank you, Matt. Mrs CarSpyTV is now wondering why she can't find her toothbrush!
@@CarSpyTV haha, poor Mrs CarSpyTV. I hope you buy her a better one to replace it. Lol.
Another fab vid. Where's the chips to go with the vinegar?
I blame the dog!
Thank you just what I was looking for 😊
You're welcome. Glad the video helped.
i enjoyed a lot the way you explained everything :D, you need more exposition!! im subscribing!
Thank you and welcome to the channel.
Such a funny video great editing. also does the washer tank ever need unblocking? Thank you
Personally, I've never had a reservoir get so dirty that it's blocked. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great video Would descaler work as well as the bicarb mate?
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. I haven't tried descaler on washer jets, but I suspect it would work.
Awesome! Thank you very much!
You're welcome.
@@CarSpyTV I did fix it! Thanks again. I've already subscribed. Keep it up!
Brilliant! Well done and welcome to the channel.
👍, I'll try it on my old Nissan Micra K12, I hope it works
Good luck and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Thank you off to give your suggestions ago 🙏

brilliant worked for me thank you
You're welcome.
Thank you for this. I am off to have fun.
You're welcome, Paul.
THANK U VEREY GOOD 😂
Glad it helped, Yvonne. Best wishes.
What if the jets aren’t on the bonnet, but are on the car( ie you have tried method 1 but can’t do the others ? )
Perhaps there's a video specific to your car that explains how to remove the jets. Good luck. Susan.

And I might try a straw! Good idea.
Why not try the washers with the pipe disconnected to see if washer fluid is flowing to the jets before assuming it’s the nozzles?
That's certainly a good way to confirm the pump, switch, fuse, and tubes work before clearing the jets. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.

Thank you, PROofHAPPYWHEELS.
A job for tomorrow 👍👍
Good luck with it.
I just love you!
Thank you, Tasha. Very kind! There’s plenty more content to follow. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
MiX the bi carb with the vinegar you get a chemical reaction ...it fizzes like a soda drink😊
Interesting idea!
Why doesn't anyone deal with rear washers? I cant even see the bottom of the jet or the pipe to it on my daughter's 2015 KA.
You may have to remove some interior trim, Martin. Good luck.

Instead of water, it might be better using white vinegar. That'll make a proper reaction. Let it work overnight and no more clogging.
Thanks for the suggestion and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
I think baking soda and white vinegar is what bubbles and cleans just about anything.
Thanks for the comment and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Simply just blow some Compressed air through the hose, clears blockage in no time
Yep. That's a good solution if you have a compressor (or a can of air). Thanks for the comment.
you are amazing!
Thank you! That's appreciated.
I just fixed mine before an MOT check
Glad the video helped, Jake. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Love old nissan micra
Me too. I prefer it to the K12.
vinegar works too
Method 1 , replace them with new ones, from Amazon , cheap 😊
Never! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to use dental products on a car! Best wishes from CarSpyTV. 😊
First option: blast them close-up with a pressure washer.
Has a pressure washer worked for you, Iain?
Yes, it has. I suppose how badly bunged up the jets are. Along with the needle, it’s probably a good first option.
Interesting comment. Thanks.
Are you a dentist or mechanic 😂
Not sure! I'll check my CV.
