Windscreen Washers Blocked - Try This First

Hey TH-cam, I just wanted to post and share a quick video of a systematic problem, especially with BMWs, and their windscreen washer filters being clogged up with algae and all kinds of gunk.
The pump was running and there was plenty of fluid in the reservoir, but nothing was coming out of the nozzle or pipes so a quick blast with an airline did the trick, saved a fortune and also made sure the car was roadworthy and passed its MOT.
I'm not suggesting this will solve the problem for all types of vehicles, but would recommend giving it a go before taking it into the garage, as the chances are they would do exactly the same thing and charge you a small ransom.

No this was amazing borrowed my fathers air gun attached it and placed it on low power as didnt want to damage anything pressed it 3 or 4 times heard the water bubbling. Re attached everything. And wow it was shooting out better than ever. Thanks so much

I used a piece of surgical rubber tubing and blew. Worked like a charm. Thanks.

Well it worked, yeah, but you still have the dirt in the sistem, so eventually it will run up and block the hose again.

Don’t disagree, but did mine 3 years ago and still working no problem. You could always suck out the washer fluid if you’re worried.

Understand and agree. That said, one of the viewers followed the same principle to clear the filter but used a rubber pipe and blew down the line and this seemed to work.
