Thank you! Your explanation about the tensioner screw saved me! Thats all that was keeping me from opening the door from the outside, the little allen head screw had rattled loose and fell out. Wish all repairs were this easy 😆 Thanks again!
Only video i've been able to find on youtube for how to repair a door lock actuator. got a 99 durango and havent droven it in over a month. got the part from ebay the other day. just wanted to say thank you for this. 20 year old kid trying to figure out how to fix my beaut.
You had the factory alarm go off when You hooked up the new motor, I have 97 4x4 Dakota with a Viper Alarm system. I said factory bc it was your horn sounding. My factory alarm went off one day, I had to insert key in passenger door lock and lock&unlock 3 times to get it disarm. Back to my Viper system and my passenger door lock. Being the motor grinds most time it has its own mind. But before it started acting up, When I use the Remote Start, as the engine is running, my parking lights would come on. My parking lights don't come on until I turn the Lights on manually. Even when I Go to activate the alarm or deactivate the alarm the parking lights don't blink twice like they use to. I think the issue may be with bad motor it's a loss connection. Imma find out soon what why?
Do you remember the actual part name/ number? I’m having a really hard time finding it in WA. I have a 99 dodge Dakota sport. All the pictures of the parts at autozone have certain levers missing.
On my truck(a 2000 Dakota) my passenger side plunger. when I go to lock or unlock my door both ways, I can clearly see that my plunger isn’t sitting flush with the door panel. (going up or down as far as it needs to)in either direction, is my door in a pinch somewhere or is my latch out of alignment.??? I can’t figure it out someone please help!!!! This is also keeping my auto locks(15mph)from working
Hmm that’s strange, that could possibly be the factor but it sounds like it might be a fault in your wiring somewhere. Not sure exactly, hopefully it’s an easy fix for you! Thanks for watching!
Good lil video dude, it helped me😁just a couple little pointers, it was easier for me to attach the long inside door handle onto the latch before I put it in the door, was hard to get to in there for me. And make damn sure not to over tighten the 3 bolts that hold the latch in, because it WILL jam up the mechanism. And put some locktite on em

I’m having a similar problem with my key fob after I replaced my door lock actuator.. not sure if it’s related to that or if my battery in the fob just needs replaced.. it worked fine for awhile after the replacement and then just randomly stopped. I can use the fob to lock it but the unlock button doesn’t work.. not 100% sure. I haven’t had time to look into it yet.. thanks for watching!
It’s possible the plastic clip may have broken or the linkage fell out of place for the handle! Hopefully it’s not too involved to get that fixed for ya! Thanks for watching!
Saw big chungus in the background,that was tedious work,my brother in law let me borrow his work truck one weekend and checked the oil and no shit,no oil on the dipstick lol! Went to the local auto parts store and got 5 quarts of 20w 40 oil and dumped them in and checked the oil an hour later and bingo! Full,Sunday night took it back and the next night he called me and said what did you do to my truck it runs great,I laughed and told him I put oil in it and he said it dont smoke like crazy anymore,I said that because the pump was sucking the sludge that was in the pan instead of oil,needless to say I'm divorced from his sister now lol
I bought mine with 72k miles about 7 years ago and it currently has almost 103k miles on it now. Never had any issues with it. Just routine oil changes! Thanks for watching!

What do u do if ur key don't turn the lock but I use to week before the alarm started going off
