The one thing I really am hoping for is some sort of sneak gear or specific gear sets to compliment the RPG aspect. For instance a fully black kit at night should have a benefit for spotting, or go one step further and add prototype ghillie suit to experimental
enjoyed the vid. i love this game. can build nearly anywhere and its fun. ive built around pre existing structures, on one of the lakes, cottage with dock, and my favorite is building among the trees near one of the friendly scavenger spawns. its nice to see them walking around near my base, makes it feel less lonely. fun stuff.
My favourite build location is also the Fire Towers but the one I use is west of Trader Bob. This location gives great access to 3 spawned convoy locations, hidden caches and my main farming location the Airfield. What I do for wood/metal/nails/stone, if you farm locations early to make money, just travel to valley/ship safe zones and buy all mats from the trader. Log out and in to keep buying mats.
Imho nice places for a base are the supermarkets with ladder access to the roof inside towns. You are not only in the center of resources, but also can easily get rid of most zombies from a safe place. The negative is that you need a lot wood to make a comfy home. And i mean a LOT. On the other side every village and town has at least one clean room in one of the smaller buildings on their 1st floors. Those are good starting points for more ambitious building projects. Anyway, the map simply isnt large enough to make closeness to (loot) resources a real factor except only at the very beginning of the game. But from the moment you are getting mobile thats no longer realy valid.
Out of interest, are you planning on making any of your fantastic Elden Ring builds post DLC? It added a lot more scope for your diverse and flexible builds that I for one would certainly like to see.
Currently I´m a little burned out on Elden Ring, I am hoping the DLC get´s on sale during Steam Winter Sale and might return then with a few builds. Currently Everspace 2 DLC (16.Sept.) and Remnant 2 DLC (24.Sept.) will be covered next as well as more developer interviews and a little podcast with a fellow YT creator about Tarkov EFT vs. SPT. I hope there is something of interest in it for you.
When I pick a place to build, I'm always worried that my base will simply stop existing if a patch adds something at that spot. You mention it twice in your video, but I'm still not sure what happens to player's structures when a patch introduces changes. Do they get overwritten? Did it ever happen to your bases?
So far the patches rarely broke anything or made a wipe necessary - that may come at some point in the future, but right now I wouldn´t worry to much and enjoy the game.
@@wholesomegamer Thank you for such a quick reply! I'm afraid that worrying is a core feature of mine but luckily it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the game. Btw, very nice and positive channel. Found you when looking for Surroundead videos, but I see you cover a lot of games that I play too. Looking forward to more of your Surroundead videos, and maybe the new Remnant 2 dlc too. :)
This is like mini DayZ.everything in DayZ is in this game.i love it.I came across this game last night and I couldn't stop playing. But somehow my screen went crazy. It's like the textures are loading slowly. I have to set it up. Are there other players in the game that I can kill? Because a group of people killed me a couple of times with big guns when I wanted to loot the police station.
Beside zombies you can encounter bandits and military enemies - especially the latter will obliterate you quickly in the beginning, you have to gear up and pick them slowly apart one by one - facing off against a whole group at once is a death sentence :-) - There is no PvP in this game, its SP only for now, coop is coming later.
Climbing nope...about destruction, that is indeed a good question - I never put that to a test. The barbwire you can place is damaging the attackers though.
I absolutely love how much this game borrows some of the best ideas from Escape from Tarkov, STOD2, PJZ, and many of my other favorite games.
Agreed, the dev has a really good eye for what to throw in the mix!

The Dev is very open to suggestions, check out the Reddit forum or the Discord!

Yeah, I settled there too once. Great location, if a bit far south. Great for Airfield and Prison raids, a little inconvenient for Observatory.

Luckily the latest patch makes collecting wood a lot less painful.

Can animals and or Z heads brake it down or climb over the walls?

@@wholesomegamer I found out about the barbwire. I ran into some and got cut😅
