Surroundead - One Of The Best Zombie Survival Games!

- Day-Z, State Of Decay, Once Human...we all love our post-apocalyptic survival games! Sourroundead is a prime example of how good games can be, if you manage to balance the different game phases and combine it with good mechanics.
And most important, trying to be a game first and instead of an overboard hardcore simulation. This game has it all, Zombies, Guns, Base-Building, Crafting and so on.
And by the time of this upload it is on sale on Steam 50% off!! The 1.6 Update is also coming this weekend - I highly recommend to give this game a shot!

randomly looking at steam review of this game, clicked the link and the video is 3 hrs old, how cool is that! I'm happy to see the game at the last update, and dev should be happy too because you sold me the game!
Thank you, for now 5bucks it is a steal! I put 60h into it in one week.
Literally same!
It’s on sale on cd keys for just over $1
@@waterforgizmo3232 Yea, but looking at it. the dev deserves to get that extra money. dont get cd keys for indie games that arent AAA
@@waterforgizmo3232 Sadly they're most likely codes that won't give any profit for the game developer.
Scummy people ask developers for game codes for reviewing their game, but they just sell them for profit.
Exactly the video I was looking for, everything I wanted to know, no frills. Excellent, thank you.
Thank you for the feedback!
Just bought the game for $5.99 on steam and I literally cannot stop playing it. The game is solid but also has so much potential.
Yep, the first 70h I could hardly put it down. And on Friday a significant Patch will drop!
Never played a game like this - I appreciate this video walking through the game (especially the setup & early game).
Thank you - I hope you have a great time with this little gem :-)
One of the best single player zombie games ive ever played! It tickes all the boxes and is constantly being updated!
It is...very accessible and putting the "fun" part first!
Very nice overview, I'm sold. Too many of these types of games are tedious or have an annoying PvP element that I don't always want to deal with. This looks like a fun single player option.
It really is and I´m very excited about the 1.6 patch that should drop today/tomorrow.
Missed the recent sale, but based on your review, will get it in the next sale! Good review/overview - thanks.
Bro what. This game is only like $5 at the moment. That’s a bargain. Great video too. Perfectly explained what it is, how it plays, and the good and bad. Easy sub
Thanks, great video! Going to give this a try right now. Looks amazing!
Let us know how you like it!
Great video! I've played FPS games for 30 years, but this is my first survival game I've ever played (unless you count Stalker as survival) and I'm enjoying it. My first playthrough I did pretty well, I had trouble with food scarcity. But now I'm starting to understand the mechanics and I think on my next play I will be more prepared.
Yeah, after 70h I figured out the basics and now I´m running Ironmade mode like it would be a rogue-like with everything on rare and very rare :-)
If you want some survival games to try i would recommended empryion galactic survival, space engineers( its very very moddable, it does have a bunch of dlc's but if you are in a multiplayer you cant place dlc items but you can still use them so dont feel pressure to buy dlc), no mans sky (update 5.0 just came out and its a game changer), satisfactory (just building a massive factory and screwing around trying to get it to work better and unlocking new things forcing me to figure out how to redo my entire thing will never get old)
@@thewootpanda Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check those out!
you 100% sold me this game
A multiplayer addition would be really cool!
It is planned, although further down the roadmap.
Multiplayer would be great and all (for some), but to me the main draw is the single player focus. There are plenty of better options for multiplayer games in this genre.
@@trashl0rd I fully agree, personally I prefer singel-player with optional co-op. Things like the upcoming Dune game would benefit from an offline mode as well imo.
@@trashl0rd4 Co-op would fit this game perfectly imo.
@@Empty12345 Yeah co-op would be okay, but def not pvp, imo.
DayZ meets Roblox nice. If there was a up to four player co-op that would be awesome. Could play this with my kids. They occasionally catch me playing DayZ and want to try this would be a better experience for them. Keeping it PVE and teamwork oriented.
Very interesting, thx a lot, subbed!
Thank you!
If you like more DayZ like survival games with guns like me, you might wanna check out No One Survived or Vein! It sure looks quite janky but it feels just like this game but with co-op features.
Just today I have tried Vein...it is early alpha and nowhere near a decent gaming experience....but it shows a lot of promise. I would say it needs at least a year before being considered even EA. No One Survived has a very mixed reception atm, which keeps me from giving at a shot. Thank you very much for your suggestions! I did try Once Human and have a love/hate relationship with that one, maybe I will cover it on the channel.
really needs first person view only to give that real survival feeling for me looks good but wouldnt play this till thats added hate over the shoulder view
It does have the option to switch into first person view! I just personally never use it. You can also adjust FOV for 3rd and first person and you can adjust the camera position and zoom of the 3rd person view.
The game has FPV, but it was created with 3rd person being the focus, so there are still some issues. It's getting better and is much better than it was when first added.
is it have multiplayer like 100 pop server+ ?
SP only atm, with co-op / multiplayer further down the roadmap. But more likely to come at the end of EA.
Real cheap on G2A everyone :)
cool!
Yep, a cool little game :-)
The amount of jank in this game is staggering. I had major bugs within 15 minutes, falling through the ground.
Npc stabbing me through the floor.
This game needs a lot of polish
Agreed that there is a definite "early access" feeling to it, but I did not had any crashes and only once or twice the falling through terrain after loading into an autosave (never with quick saves). And some kind of simplicity is inherently baked into this game, but imo this simplicity is a lot more times beneficial and helps being a good gaming experience vs. the try hard simulation games like SCUM. But yeah, I can see why some people might not feel the same appeal and there is still some work in progress. The big 1.6 oatch is coming this weekend, I´m excited to see what it brings.
Game runs absolutely flawless for me. Haven't had a single issue in the 60 hours I've put in
To be honest i have fell through the ground in no mans sky and 7 days to die as well. 7dtd used to almost include that as a feature it used to happen a lot in that game lol but thats early access
Will it eventually come to console?
It is not part of the roadmap right now. Runs flawless on Steam Deck though.
Can it be played with a gamepad/controller?
Yes
i just hate the map, it look like someone using map editor for like 30 minute and done.
It maybe lies in the nature of a low poly game, but the locations are all carefully handcrafted, especially the big raid location like the resort for example. I also like that the loot is always context related and not just random.
@@wholesomegamer im talking about overall map not individual POI, like how weirdly placed river are.
Game name🥺
Surroundead, it´s in the title and a steam link in the description
@@wholesomegamermultiplayer game ?
@@gggg-w8w3j not yet, it is a planned feature further down the roadmap.
Good commercial
Well, unfortunately I didn´t get paid :-D It is my honest opinion and take on the game. And you could spend 5 bucks way worse.
@@wholesomegamer It was a very well written commercial.
Uninstalled after 10 minutes. Boring janky garbage. Not surprised as games nowadays are all complete ass.
Interesting comment and review for the game, you didn’t really specify what makes it boring or janky, after all, early access means the game is not complete and is actively adding updates that add and optimize features. Idk what early access means to you, but to me it means that I am buying or playing an incomplete game which guarantees glitches that could be game breaking and so on. Weird amount of negativity coming from you.
@@Crouton_6 People who still defend Early Access games are lost causes and part of why gaming today is mediocre.
I've seen worse gaming experiences from non early access games and from major studios with 100s-1000s of people working on the same project.
exact same as DeadPoly, its a scam and an asset flip
You obviously have never played it and and the 89% positive reviews on Steam think otherwise.
So a shitty once human? Just play once human its free. lol
Once Human for sure has a somewhat compelling loop, I did sunk some serious hours into it. But it also feels incredible inconsistent with the world building and often cheap (resource notes sticking out, empty textures, etc.) and also incredible bloated with systems, currencies and shops...typical mmo stuff. Some like it, some not. Surroundead is a way more leaner package in a good way, a lot more focus on moment to moment gameplay. Some will like the more "refined" approach of Surroundead, some the more blown up mmo-style of Once Human. Always good to have choice - and Surroundead is just 5 Bucks atm...basically free ;-)
Once human feels like a mobile game
@@GrayBeardFPS yep, definitely has a mobile game feeling to it. Great way to describe it.
@@GrayBeardFPS bro this game feels like a shit game. Im not sure how thats better. xD
Also why would I want to play a game where my progress is wiped every so often?
