main issue with delta force extraction no mags for guns its just put ammo in its very fast paced and feels arcade like movement is fast like cod and u have no weight to anything. also it lacks alot of details of other extraction shooters
Ready or Not is hands down the best tactical shooter at the moment because not just its style, but its very game design makes it borderline a horror game. You can load up on heavy plates and become a slow, very hard to kill tank, but the next door you barge through without checking could be trapped or have an npc who will put a rifle round through your head. You never know what threats will lurk around the next corner, what slap-dash plan you and the boys will need to put into action when the next hallway is not empty, but has two guards suppressing you and one 5 seconds from executing a hostage. The moment-to-moment improvisation and instinctual following of the most logical plans by even randos in co-op makes RoN truly special
Yep RoN is in a very special spot due to its setting, team and suspect mechanics. It is definitely not for everyone, especially if you want to just pew-pew, but if you click with it, it is pretty much unmatched.

Totally agree with you on the three games I have (Incursion: RR, Grey Zone Warfare and Ready or Not) as I am trying to get further into GZW, it's terrifying compared to any other Tactical FPS I've ever played Co-op, and I've played basically everything over the past 30 years. Nothing stresses me out like GZW. The AI is mostly Aimbots, and a bit unrealistic. Sometimes I don't know why I wear armor in that game. Keep up the great work!!!
Ready or Not is a great game for solo playing if you use voiceattack to command the ai. The mod and maps are literally game breaking if the modders did not update/port to UE version 5.3, cant even start the game. So that brings the mod content down to a very small amount since most of the mods have not been updated for months on end.
This is true of basically any popularly modded game that still gets regular updates from devs. Look at the surrounding fallout 4 and its “surprise” update earlier this year that broke years of mods and delayed the fallout London TC another few months 😂 nobody saw the update coming 🤷🏾

Man of taste, subbed. One of my "dream" games is an extraction shooter with huge maps you can get lost in and you are not constantly pressured by time, with dynamic events and dynamic quests and with overarching story giving player a reason to go to these locations and do "stuff". Tarkov 1.0 is kinda building up to that, GZW as well in a way but no game did it properly yet. On the other side I am getting kinda tired of games like Arena Breakout where there is absolutely no point in extracting - except extracting. Also tactical sci-fi game would be really cool - how special forces of the future could operate?
Thanks! Yeah, sounds like my kind of dream game too! I tried and refunded Forever Winter - it just plays like dogsh1t, even if it is a super cool setting, but gunplay and movement are just bad. I played the heck out of SP Tarkov and right now Delta Force Extraction is super fun, even though I hate PvP...I just avoid/stealth through the missions and it is super easy to gear up and make money - if they would offer a PvE Extraction version (campaign is coming though) it would be dope, the bones are great and it feels awesome to play.
@@thelordofcringe I did enjoy STALKER 2 a lot, but they need to further fix a-life and my biggest problem is the uninteresting loot, except a few dedicated spots for special weapons and gear. But roaming and scavenging is cool in terms of atmosphere but super bland in terms of loot and progression. So yeah, a DF with PvE operations or Stalker with an extraction-like interesting loot placement would be great games 😀
Road to Vostok is awesome, even in this demo stage. I cannot wait for full release. The developer is finnish ex-military guy, very talented and transparent about his work. It will be a perfect single player extraction shooter for me at least.
I first hit the franchise with FC4, don´t get me wrong I love FC 4,5 and even ND (6 not so much). And I love some FC gameplay, but it would just not qualify as a tactical shooter.
Honestly, the FC series is my guilty pleasure mainly because it’s turn your brain off fun that you can turn your brain off and just blow stuff up with cool weapons. I’m perfectly fine with that as every game doesn’t need to be a serious, stress inducing milsim/extraction thing. Funnily enough, with all this being said, FC2 is my favorite in the series 😂🤷🏾

I want pve tactical content, can't really play MP extraction because I'm a father of young children, lol,no time when I am safe from interruption. Played all of RoN and messed with Red River. Excited to look into SPT as tarkov looks amazing for somebody with enough free time. Also recommend Ground Branch, the solo pve is rough but entertained me for quite a while.
Have fun digging into SP Tarkov, quite the rabbit hole! But the amount of content and hours you can sink in is amazing. And the sessions are always short enough for a Dad-Gamer :-)
I’ve already put hundreds of hours into ready or not with mods. I just don’t get tired of it. The learning curve is not tiny and the SWAT AI in solo can bug out (soooo Frustrating) but the realism, presentation, tenseness, gunplay, base content and sheer amount of mods available makes this a permanent fixture in my game library 🙏🏽
For Gray Zone Warfare, most reviews are upset about optimization and AI. The AI is being tuned over time, but I will admit that I mostly agree with the general consensus on them. They are very frustrating to play against, but as it is Early Access, and from what I've seen from the devs, it will only improve with time. I think the game is very difficult at first, but I strongly suggest you stick with it as you start to understand its mechanics and flow over time, as it's very rewarding when you finally start to understand it. I couldn't ever get into extraction games like Tarkov, but this one, man I love it. So yeah, I am 100% biased in my take here, but I think this game is cooking up something great.
I also hope for a good game once EA is done. I want to love the game and setting + visuals are awesome. But I have a really hard time getting used to this "zoomed out" perspective...it might be more realistic, but very unfunny for me to play. I ran Tarkov, RRI and GzW side by side and if you put the footage next to each other it really pops out how GzW is different in that regard.
@@wholesomegamer Understandable honestly. I think that’s why a lot of the playerbase uses scopes (acog for when you’re at level1 with traders and other zoom optics for level 2/3). The sights like the holo do feel odd when you’re used the zoom most games use, but I actually do enjoy them in close quarter fights when you progress to more tight areas (like YBL-1 which is this bunker fortress type area). I think once you progress out of the starter town you really start to appreciate the 1x optics over the scopes in a fair amount of situations.
Yeah, I know about it and already played STALKER2 (loved it). I think Gamma is a little bit to "old" for me, once a-life works I will give Stalker2 another go.
Yeah i agree anomaly isnt really old, sure base anomaly feels “old” but gamma modpack gives it a fresh new paintjob and makes it look and feel better than even stalker 2 imo.
Good recommendations. My experience with Ready or Not enemy AI - sometimes (not always) it is cheating cause they know where I am even if they don't have a line of sight to you and I am 20 meters away so they cannot hear me either.
14:59 SP Tarkov with modding showed me that Tarkov is too far out of date. It's the Tactical FPS version of EVE Online; incredibly rewarding for people who've only got that one game as their hobby but utterly pointless if you have wider interests. Big respect to the SP and other Tarkov mod teams!
I also think Tarkov suffers from his endless beta stage and aged poorly in many regards (audio, visuals, UI), while having undeniable good bones (movement, gunplay). And adding layers and layers of band-aids on existing systems or inflating systems endlessly (keys f.e.) without streamlining things first will make this an old and clumsy game once it reaches 1.0. Delta Force Operations clearly showed me HOW clumsy Tarkov has become, but SP Tarkov is a hell of a sandbox to have fun with, the work and effort the modders put into this is mind-blowing.
very good video is exactly my taste. for me cycle frontier was one of the best games in that area but unfortunately there was no pve only mode. since it was down I've been looking for a good alternative. deltaforce comes closest for me. but it's far too overwhelming for me with all the healing mechanics and the fact that there is no pve only. I wish you could revive cycle with pve mode and coop too. then it would be perfect
@@wholesomegamer I'm really looking forward to it. I hope you can loot a lot like in PvP mode. Since the DF came out I haven't played anything else but mostly the war mode

@wholesomegamer fov probably plays a big role. They may have assumed a smaller fov when they set the distance. Hard to say exactly what they were trying to accomplish. Still very cool to have the scope zoom separated from the screen zoom.
Not available yet and in Pre-Alpha with some developer showcase videos on YT. Looks promising, but they have no release date announced as far as I know.
I watched a lot of videos, I´m not sure if the horror-stealth is up my alley and only it seems runs have to be mainly quiet and a lot of melee with less pew-pew.
@wholesomegamer fair enough although I think you might have mostly seen the first parts as that's quite stealthy and you have a knife. Most the game is definitely tactical gameplay avoiding fights but when they start you're spraying hard. I get bores by stealth games but there's definitely a lot of shooting. Intro makes it seem more like a survival horror game which I hate
I wanted GZW to be amazing and it just wasn't. I bought the supporter edition, so I'll revisit as they fine tune the game, but I've got almost 800 hours in EFT since getting it in February and it's by far the greatest FPS I've ever put hands on. To boot, I play with a Vader Pro 3 controller and my cell phone that has a mouse app with hot keys preset. I absolutely love it. I know some people hate it because of what BSG does, but you can't deny it's the most intense shooter out there.
EFT has it perks, it made the genre popular for a reason. Delta Force atm feels like the perfect evolution, with the exact amount of streamlining I want. And for the first time I now play a PvP game...although I treat it as a solo stealth game :-). I can´t wait for the PvE mode next year. And if you like EFT I highly recommend checking SP Tarkov out, if you enjoy a pure PvE experience.
Yeah, 3rd-person and is it more a stealth game at heart then a shooter I think? But I got it on my wishlist...I want to let it cook for another 6 months before jumping into it.
It works, especially if you play with the AI squad and learn how to utilize them. There is a learning curve, but if the setting and approach clicks with you, it is a very unique game.
i definitely do not agree with pve tarkov being inferior to spt in every way . as someone who plays both a lot . I tend to play live pve more than spt these days . SPT has bugs and problems often and it runs months behind on content and changes . I do like using mods when solo but PVE tarkov right now has better sound , better quality of life , and all the events . it's just a better experience in many ways . it just doesn't have mods . which does mean spt is still the way to go if you are into mods , when they add mod support that won't be as big of a factor either anymore.
If BSG ever adds mod support it would be perfect. I agree with SPT being always a few months behind and missing the newest features. But I never ran into SPT specific bugs and the QoL mods like an overlay map or detailed item information are so worth it imo. I personally could not get back from the massive AI improvements of SPT to EFT PvE. At least they now have the PvE option for everyone for a reasonable price.
@@wholesomegamer well there are well over 20M VR headsets out there. Of course the player bases are way smaller than of flatgames, but VR's biggest problem is, that many people just never tried it and think it's a niche.

It´s been quite a while since my time in the military, so my memories are a bit blurred by time. But positional audio in games needs to strike this balance between realism and serving as a game feature to...well, make the game fun to play and enjoy. And then people playing on tons of different output devices, which can further dilutes the actual experience. GZW audio feels off, or unbalanced imo. But it´s not the only game struggling with that (like Tarkov f.e.).

Good recommendations. My experience with Ready or Not enemy AI - sometimes (not always) it is cheating cause they know where I am even if they don't have a line of sight to you and I am 20 meters away so they cannot hear me either.
RoN AI can be really scary. There are some cool mods to tone it down a bit.
@@wholesomegamerwhich mods time the AI down?

@@wholesomegamer Thank you so much!
Great video. Should correct the typo in the title though
OMG, I didn´t noticed that until now! Thanks man!
Delta Force plays really great, the PvE campaign is scheduled for early 2025!
@@wholesomegamer I'm really looking forward to it. I hope you can loot a lot like in PvP mode. Since the DF came out I haven't played anything else but mostly the war mode
@@jameswatcher1933 I´m playing Operations only as solo player trying to stealth through the missions and avoid PvP - it´s awesome, banked 12mil. already and it is super easy to get gear, etc. The first time ever I enjoy a PvP centric game and I´m at a 58% survival rate with zero problems making money - very casual friendly and super fun.
@@wholesomegamer ty sir i try that.sounds very good
Grey zone scopes aren't at a realistic distance from uour eyes. They take up much more of your view in real life.
Then I wonder why they stick to this "zoomed out" approach, makes it really annoying to play imo.
@wholesomegamer fov probably plays a big role. They may have assumed a smaller fov when they set the distance. Hard to say exactly what they were trying to accomplish. Still very cool to have the scope zoom separated from the screen zoom.
How about Bellum?
Not available yet and in Pre-Alpha with some developer showcase videos on YT. Looks promising, but they have no release date announced as far as I know.
Any on console ?
You should try out SCP 5K. Does everything right just needs more content
@@lewanjosephnimick9359 I have it on my wishlist...I keep an eye on it at the next sale 🙂
@@wholesomegamer I bought the Unheard edition, so I'm all PvE Tarkov and never going back lol.
@@Constitutionalist76 If you get bored with it try SP, the AI is incredible...and it´s free, really easy to install.
I started to try EFT but I refuse to support that dev.
I believe all of the content creators should have boycotted them long ago.
@@venous-gaming55 I can definitely see that and don't balme a single person that doesn't want to support them.
Surprised you didn't bring up Forever Winter
Third person game, he said in the beginning he is considering making a separate list for that
Yeah, 3rd-person and is it more a stealth game at heart then a shooter I think? But I got it on my wishlist...I want to let it cook for another 6 months before jumping into it.
@@wholesomegamer Fair enough. I would also recommend giving Witchfire a look as well.
Think Dark Souls but if it was an FPS extraction shooter
@@49mozzer Yeah, check out my Witchfire video 😀 th-cam.com/video/E8ZuO2psQbM/w-d-xo.html
Really Like the look of Ready or Not, but am hearing it is very bad solo :(
It works, especially if you play with the AI squad and learn how to utilize them. There is a learning curve, but if the setting and approach clicks with you, it is a very unique game.
can pvp work in co-op?
Which game you are referring to?
I love pve games
i definitely do not agree with pve tarkov being inferior to spt in every way . as someone who plays both a lot .
You completely forgot about VR games.
I feel they are still very niche and not really relevant for the majority of people. Maybe that will change in the future.
@@wholesomegamer well there are well over 20M VR headsets out there. Of course the player bases are way smaller than of flatgames, but VR's biggest problem is, that many people just never tried it and think it's a niche.
@@b.s.7693 The total number may sound big, but to quote from a recent article:"The Global Penetration Of Virtual Reality Hardware Is Estimated To Reach 1.5% Comparatively, the penetration rate of video games is estimated to be 47.4%. @@wholesomegamer okay 😕
A bit buffled how RoN is the only one that actually plays like old school tac-shooters these days, it's a dying genre.
It is very special, if you just want pew-pew it is basically to complicated. And it is a very intense game, if you just want to play a relaxing game, RoN is for sure not an optimal choice :-D (it is a fantastic game, though).
You forgot Black One Blood Brothers.
The only truly modern traditional tactical shooter lmao
Yeah, I´m not sure about that one, seems pretty rough still from the videos I watched. But I have an eye on it, thanks for mentioning it.
How is the ai?
ready or not is best swat simulator right now but the civilian AI breaks the immersion so badly. they are they arguing against the officer who is saving them from a club shooting.. i died few times bc thath bullshit...
It is definitely a "no one likes SWAT" simulator :-)
tbh the sounds in gray zone are actual dogshit, being someone that has been in the military and had "angry shots" in my direction.... hearing shots from 500Metres+ like they are right 40m away .. no.... i served in northern ireland and i know a gunshot in my area and gunshot in the nearest mile or so to me coupled with a shot being directed at me and one that wasnt....
But it´s not the only game struggling with that (like Tarkov f.e.).
id rather be in lobby 20/20 AI bots then 18/20 cheaters like tarkov
im surprised scum didnt make this list
Huh, do you really think it qualifies as a tactical shooter? Isn´t it a hardcore survival game, mostly PvP + PvE training mode?
@@wholesomegamer i honestly realized this as soon as i left the comment tbh

GrayZone = DogWater crash sim with shit FPS: 25, "Ready Or Not" "Delta Force" DeadSide" "Road To Vostok" Waaaay better games
GzW only runs with frame generation, which has it´s own issues. They have still a long way in terms of optimization do go.
Greyzone works fine for me, but i also...upgrade my pc, so there is that.
@@wholesomegamer Delta Force uses the exact same game engine as GrayZone but... the developers actually optimized their game you can run Delta Force on a RX580 in ultra and pull 75 - 80 fps 1440P
@@davidquee8728 Yep, DF runs perfectly smooth and fine for me. To their credit, the overall visual fidelity and environmental details are much higher in GzW and it is an open world vs. smaller maps.
Lol Deadside is dead and looks like dayz from 2010, same for Vostok - they are no competitors to Gray Zone Warfare
