Many players might not be very excited about collecting all the salvaged data, nanites and credits to unlock parts or get the resources - Creative mode or adjusting the difficulty mode will totally take away that grind. Ofcourse, building parts that are rewards from the Quicksilver vendor or Expeditions need to be earned - these rewards are cross save however, so you only need to unlock these once.
after the first few seasons I began absolutely save editing a few things. 1. backpack, that grind was horrible im only doing it once 2. my fleet, i aint rebuilding all that
Beebs, you're a legend, i didnt know you move the base computer, I thought that was fixed, and was not aware of the overall build limit. I really appreciate the work you put into making these videos and your contribution to the NMS community.
@@Beeblebum i would like a guide on underwater building. I built a base underwater, starting with a underwater cylindrical room and it randomly makes water sound like im swimming. Also the landing pads were almost perfectly level with the water, but sold wouldn't work. Also the surface level prefab shows the floor in water and the ladder + Vertical tunnel is glitchy.
Fantastic video as usual!! Extremely helpful for new players and Im sure there is useful info for some veterans as well. "Who am I, am Beeblebum". For those that dont know he is a Legendary No Man's Sky builder, player and content creator!!! Hes also a great guy too.
Great refresher, and just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Beeb's basebuilding videos. He has so many deep dives into important base building topics going back years.
I consider myself an "advanced" base builder, but even I needed the refresher on aiming my cursor at the center of where the item goes. Great video on the basics. Your existing videos are what helped teach me, so I look forward to the updated ones to keep my skills sharp.
Good job, Beebs. This is a great starter guide for new builders. I have recently been re-watching your building playlist to refresh myself on glitch building. I"m looking forward to seeing how these guides change for Worlds.
This is excellent for new people! Base building is one of the most addictive mechanics of the game once you get the hang of it, great video!! PS: my god that ENTERPRISE!!
So nice to see this! Finally got some friends to get the game and sent them straight here. Even if I have almost 2k hours between all my saves I loved the video, every NMS player should now the mighty Beeblebum.
I’m really happy to see you making a new building series starting all over again with the basics. I was really lost when I started building. There’s so much I wish I had known when I started. This will give new builders a good place to start. 👍
Great to see the video I stepped away from nms for couple years come back and your still here with the best video gotta relearn how to build and glitch build thank you beeble
Really helpful video, both for beginners and for those of us like me who hasn't done much building in a long time but wants to find a cool new planet after the World update and start building again, but had forgotten a lot of the basics :) Thank you, Beebs!
A very comprehensive guide, great work, thanks so much! Even being a long time NMS player I ve learned that we can choose the variety of the part and also pin parts 🙂 Just one remark: this is not a must, but before I start a new base I like to look first if there are good resources nearby, especially if I can get power supply.
Excellent video. Wish I had found something like this when I started. I have enjoyed all your tutorials. This one is especially nice for newbies. I even got to see features that are unfortunately not on switch such as info screen. Thanks Beeble
Wow what an incredibly clear tutorial, your presentation and teaching style is so clear. I've been playing 200 hours and didn't know I could expand the pieces to see variants, I had no idea what that symbol meant 😂 😂 I had to pause the video in shock and run to grab my steamdeck, going to be building for the rest of tonight!
5.20 I use what I call a "safety cube", using the cube adornments at 10x10 and stacking them to 3 or 400 pieces, you get an early warning when you breach the upload limit. It would be great if HG just displayed the counter right from 0 though, super wierd that they don't. 😊
I would love to see some more information on freighter Base building. The techniques available there are slightly different unless you unlock planetary parts
Ive been playing a while but never built more than a few wood boxes for structures. I found an abandoned moon with low gravity and endless flat space. Im going to try for a futuristic old west desert town build and see how it goes.
Excellent! Got halfway through this and subscribed, I found your presentation that helpful! One question, which may be answered elsewhere - what do I do with the weeks and plants that show up through the floors of my prefab buildings, walkways, landing pads, etc? Anyway, thanks and Kudos to you!
The only way to avoid weed and plants growing back is by building higher and make a foundation, I touched on that topic in this video: th-cam.com/video/K644RpSdXrM/w-d-xo.html
When going into the ‘OPTIONS’ menu, ‘CATALOGUE & GUIDE’ then ‘BUILDING PARTS’. You will be able to see all the blueprints including ones you have not yet acquired. This shows the description, materials and even what’s needed to unlock the blueprint. :)
@Beeblebum that would be great. I will admit to spending hrs getting no where and the thought of trying to intermingle prefab parts like the trusses with regular parts like floors makes the color run from my cheeks. Why they don't snap I don't know. Beyond building a door, then adding a prefab airlock to the door to create a snapping point for prefabs, my tool box: it is empty!
The parts that have the yellow “double tick” on the icon (it blends in a bit) have alternate variations, which places the variant itself without the pieces changing. I hope this helps!
I am unsure as why legacy parts were removed for new players... But, as explained at 9:16 you can choose which variations to build with, avoiding the contextual building.
I honestly feel the first step should be to locate a power hotspot because I hate putting down the computer, and then realizing the nearest hotspot is a long ways off and I don't like daisy-chaining things.
Yeah, You are right - I actually tend to forget that as well every time - even mentioning it in this guide. 😂 But, its a good one to remind myself for the upcoming videos.
I was wondering about moving the base computer because I have seen people have it in their buildings and I was like wtf. I hate that you skipped on how to pick a good site location though. Using a Survey scanner to find a spot that has Power, special dirt, AND gas. Or like how much solar power your average base might take. I guess all that stuff and more is covered in the advanced build guide? (If I do it, it must be basic lol)
Yeah, I could definitely have mentioned that. One of the next videos will cover finding locations for base building, so that would take some more time to talk about that. I did make a completely dedicated guide to hotspots, which covers most of this.
All bases showcased in this video are done by me (except the Featured Butterfly house by Pharaoh). Normally I do make videos of the bases I built. Here is the video link to the one you asked about: th-cam.com/video/1-K084VCM5s/w-d-xo.html Still old water and graphics though.
@@Beeblebum I looked again, it suffered from "small hitboxits" and that combined with my "cumtheFonites" was the issue. Thank you for making me look again.

get your money back , their are only 6 main types of planets with the rest a mix of the 6 or so, been a while , once i found their were only limited numbers of planet types, I stopped playing, because they lied.

hats off to you beebs for re-doing the basics tutorials after all this time and after you did it before
I second this; just started the game and such up2date videos are absolutely awesome!

Thank you for your generosity in making this, Beebs. You’re the best.
And I never knew you can select the different walltypes. Beeblebum saves so much time and frustration here, he deserves a nanite medal.
What a great idea to make this a series. By the time you get to the advanced stuff, you can cover any new things that come out with future updates!
Yeah, the plan is to start first with non glitch building guides. then gently move into the other advanced techniques.

So excited to see this series. You never know what you may learn, even as an OG player! 😊

Great first episode Beebs! Glad you decided to do this. Again… 😂
