He wasn’t there. Never saw him again. Lol
Okay so like: I was driving home one night after a 15 hour shift. Super tired. It was foggy out on an empty road in the woods that lead to my house. I'm half asleep. Suddenly a HUGE WALL rose up from the road to meet me and I slammed on the brakes. Sat there for about 5 minutes, wide awake now, until I realized it was just a patch of fog in my headlights that was super dense and looked like a huge, grey, impassible wall in the middle of the road. Scared the shit out of me.
I have a story, When I was, probably about 7 or so, I was walking down the road with my parents, I saw a stick on the side of the road, I walked closer to it when it moved. It was a snake. It had ran away from me after I got closer. My parents always say i got closer because i thought it was a dead snake, but idk how you would be able to tell that from a Black snake, plus in the shade from the grass.
It was late one night and we were returning home from my then husband's uncle's house. He was driving, I was in the passenger seat and our son was sleeping in the backseat. As we were pulling up to our house there were two men walking down the street and all of the sudden a severe feeling of terror and dread overcame me, right in the gut. As my ex was slowing down the men started to quicken their pace and I just started screaming "DRIVE! DRIVE! NOW!" My ex was so startled that he floored it and as I looked behind I could see one of the men pulling out a gun. A second later he lowered it, putting it back in his waistband and then both ran off. To this day I still have no idea how I knew that something was going to happen, but I'm glad I did.
I don't have Reddit so I'm gonna share it here I was driving on a country road at night and saw a car just up ahead that was either stopped or going really slow. I start to slow down and when I get close enough to read the registration and work out it was totally stationary it took off. The spooky bit is it didn't take off and speed up really quick, I meant it went from totally stationary to 80-90 mph so suddenly I slammed on the breaks out of panic. If it was a Ferrari or something ridiculous like that I'd have thought nothing of it, but it was an old Toyota Corolla. I've heard of stealth cars, cars that look mundane but are stupid in terms of power and speed, but nothing could've done what I saw it do.
i was on the road about 15 minutes away from my house, going 65 on an old, empty road, when our headlights fell onto a figure, in an all black suit and black hood, looking at the ground. after our headlight being on his face for a few seconds, his head jerked up to stare at us at a scary, unnatural speed. after passing him, my mom sped up. and that isn't the creepy part. the road was straight for miles, so there isn't any shortcut from one part of the road to the other. yet, 5 minutes later, the same person was standing there, on the side of the road, and did the same thing. not to scary, we just locked our doors and slept together in the living room with the lights on, all the doors locked, blinds closed, and music playing, as we huddled together praying we don't have nightmares. yeah. I tiny bit creepy. still casts a sense of fear on my heart even thinking about it.
Guy runs after car on drugs doesn't kill anyone but is creepy...... Okay so this guy I think was drugged out or something but my sis worked late night shifts it's midnight in the city phx az driving in a very public place. All doors unlocked and we slow to a turn. My sis and Mom in deep conversation and I'm in the back lm 18 looking out the window. See a guy in ahoodie right totally not scary see ppl like that all the time druggies. But he was facing me as we slow to turn he stares directly into my eyes and his face turns into a grotesque kinda reminiscent of a pedophile grin. He swiftly pulls out an object and it glints in the light from the convenience store. My mom briefly stops and I'm still following this guys stare in the back window and tell my mom to GO HES RUNNING and she turns and asks a question. This man I kid you not full on sprints for our car doors and after we turn I see him meet my terrified gaze in the distance with his sharp long knife. Right after I ask my mom and sis if they were paying attention and my mom said she saw him start running after us and that's why she hit the gas.
Similar thing that happened to my friend's father. Now some details. This happened in the Mindanao Island of the Philippines. His father is going home late, driving a motorcycle. The road is largely cutting through a forest, just trees everywhere. Then his father passed by a white dog. Doesn't think something strange about it. Then later another white dog he had passed by. Now he's thinking about it, two dogs looked similar kilometres apart. Then the third time a similar white dog he had passed by. Now this time it is chasing him. His father panicked and twist the throttle of the motorcycle as far as it can go. Hitting the redline. It was a huge laugh when he's telling about it.
So I have a story when I was little probably about 6 I was playing in the back of the car with my coloring books when my dad stops the car hard like I mean he has never stopped this hard! But as I lean over to see what’s happened my dad pulls out his phone and dials 911 apparently my dad claimed he’d just seen some man chasing a women across the street into the forest! Btw it was like pitch black out and we were driving to Michigan! Needless to say the police didn’t find anything but footprints! Still freaks me out to this day.
I do doordash late at night for extra cash (thank you lazy, drunk people) and I often go into apartment complexes or sketchy areas that are dimly lit and a maze when trying to find an address. I had finished dropping off food to a customer and had a good 400 yard walk to my car and I felt as if I was being followed. Sure enough I just briefly turn around and about 40 yards behind me theres this dude in blue jeans and a black hoody just walking behind me, obviously tailing me. I speed up a little bit, i can hear his pace change to match mine. I round the corner and kind of run further ahead and hide in this dark corner 20 feet off the path and sure enough I hear him change to a jog and he rounds the corner and assumes I have took off straight down the path and carries on. This is why I now conceal carry my 9mm on my night shifts.
I live on the far end of a long dead end street. There's a stop sign at the far end away from my house where I can pull onto a busy road. It's a four lane road, two in each direction with a raised grass median in the middle. Obviously there's a turn so people can turn onto my street, but if I want to turn left I have to cross the median. I'm driving at midnight to get taco bell. I pull up into the median and there is literally zero cars around because it's midnight. A little ways away in the distance I notice a car driving down the road in my direction. I'm really big on waiting for cars to pass when I make turns. Something about having them behind me really sets me off, so I decide to wait for this car to pass by before turning. The road he's on is a two lane and since I'm sitting in the median waiting to turn, there is obviously a turning lane to my right that is empty. This car, while still in the driving lane, stops in the middle of the road, right front of where the turning lane ends but is not in the turning lane, there is no red light where he is, no stop sign, no reason for him to stop and we proceed to stare each other down for the next 3 minutes straight. I do not take my eyes off him because he is looking directly at me and I directly at him. We are not even 15 feet apart. I don't even blink. I think I won because he ended up driving off. That's the thing though, when this car stopped in front of me and made "wave on" sign to me in the middle of the night with zero other cars around while sitting in a driving lane, serious alarms bells were ringing. On my way home from Taco Bell the same car was following me, I know because no one makes 4 left turns for no reason. I learned how to shake a tail that night and I have never told my mother about this incident and I never will.
I swear I should wear a costume that'd look creepy at a distance and dance maniacally near a highway. I'd scare the crap out of literally anyone who notices me.
I wasn’t driving. But it was me, my mom, my aunt who was driving, and cousin. We were leaving my brothers wedding reception. It was around 10:00 p.m, and we were up in the mountain of West Virginia. At the corner of my eye I seen something running towards the road. Then I screamed “stop, stop, stop” to my aunt. She then slammed her breaks going down this two lane road. And at least 5-7 deer run in front of the car.
I have a story there was a guy named crash who was part of the band ‘’the aquabats’’ and he was driving there tram one night after going snow skiing when he saw what he called a horrible thingy which turned out to be a shape shifting alien who wanted to melt them down into rocket fuel and then crash turned the thingy into a worm and squished him and killed him

I was once driving my sister home from a late night movie. It was a little past midnight and when we reached our house this car pulled up and turned on its flashers, parking by a stop sign. He got out and walked around his car acting distressed (like...really exaggerating). Something felt extremely off so I told my sister to just run for the house. We both paused before running and thinking it over now it looked like that man had something hidden in his hand/up his sleeve (I have a sneaking suspicion it was either a pistol or a weird shaped knife) but the creepy part is that when we got inside and looked out the window to see if it was just our imagination or if the guy did have bad intent, the guy sped off. To this day I have no idea what he was planning (do you guys have any ideas on what?) But it still freaks me out that my little sister was there too and she could've been in potential danger.
Once when I was driving along a highway at night, it was shortly after 3am, I pulled over to urinate. There were no street lights here so it was quite dark. I heard what sounded like a blood curdling scream. It was loud and sounded pretty close. I got back in my car and noped out of there as quick as I could. No idea what made that sound and I certainly did not feel like investigating at the time.
A friend and I were driving a few counties over from ours in rural Tennessee one night around midnight. One stretch was very dark with no houses or anything around just corn on both sides and no houses for miles. All of a sudden we seen a little boy maybe around 10 step outta the corn and just stand there as we passed. My friend was like maybe we should see if he needs help but I said no. My gut was telling me to keep going and thats what I did.
My dad and I were driving down an empty road at like 1 or 2 in the morning one night. We were just casually driving along when we saw what looked like an animal run towards us, and we both looked at the same time to see it was a really weird shadow. There was only one light and the shadow wasn't even on the side of it that would make any sense if it were like a deer running through the ditch. Not even half an hour later, two people were walking on the side of the road and lunged towards us suddenly for no reason and my dad swerved by them and sped away. It was down-pouring and this road was like 10 miles from the nearest town, so it makes no sense that two people would be walking there at 2 A.M. This was also the same road my mom had seen an entire group of people standing on the side of the road during a storm, staring across the road at nothing at midnight a few months prior.
Scariest for me seeing at night was probably a kidnapping. I saw a guy pulling this girl inside his van while she tried to run away, he covered her mouth. I called the cops gave a description, never knew what happened next. Scary though.
One night walking back from work I looked over into a field and saw a thin, dark, straight figure before there were any trees, unmoving, just there. I thought, "I don't remember that. Either that's a new pole or that's Slenderman." (I used to walk that route often in the daytime) When I came back by the next day it wasn't there. Possibly not Slenderman, but definitely not a pole.

This was scary for a different reason. I was driving home at night With a friend, through a rural area. Suddenly, I slammed on the brakes because a family of skunks was crossing of the road. Mom and a whole bunch of babies. However, my stopping on my lights or something confuse them, because they just stayed in the road. I couldn’t drive forward, and eventually other cars came up behind me. They didn’t know why I stopped, and drove around me, scaring the skunks even more. Eventually, the mother skunk and most of her babies made it to the other side of the road, but one of them backed up and went back to the original side. We couldn’t think of a way to get it back to its mother without possibly getting scratched/bitten by a wild animal or sprayed on... and the mom might not take it back once we touched it. So we just left them there. I don’t think baby skunk made it back to mommy...
I've delivered papers for most of the last 4 years. There's one road I used to deliver on that is probably about a mile long. I normally only drove about half way up it. It goes all the way up the side of a hill and stops just before the interstate at the edge of a steep embankment. It's heavily forested and after about where I normally turned around, there's only a couple houses and they're pretty far from the road. One day, about 3 years ago, I was very tired and having crashed before due to drowsiness, I decided to go all the way up to the top of the road, shut off the car, and catch some quick sleep where I wouldn't disturb anyone. I usually can only sleep about 30 minutes at a time in my car, which is enough sleep for me to be able to stay up till I'm done with my route but not too long as to put me behind schedule. It was about 5 in the morning but it was winter time so it was pretty much pitch black out. I had got to the top of the road and turned around so I could just drive off when I got up. I had just shut the engine off and was about to turn my lights off to catch some Zs, when what I can only describe as a whitetail deer that was standing vertically on its two hind legs walked out in front of me. My headlights were still on and I could clearly see this thing walk out of the woods to my left, straight across in front of me, and saunter off into the woods to my right. My heart was pounding like I was watching an alien walk past me. The moment I couldn't see the thing anymore without turning my head because I was stock still as to not draw its attention, I jammed the key to start, my engine revved up, and I took off down the hill. My car at the time could do 0-60 in 10 seconds and I had my foot to the floor for atleast that long if not 5 seconds longer. I was flying, praying to every benevolent god and deity I could think of that this wasn't some kinda cheetah-like monster that could keep up with my car. I reached the bottom of the hill and had to slam on my brakes as to not cross the main road and plow into a house. I sat there long enough to let my heart rate slow, constantly looking into my rearview to see if I was followed. When I was sure I hadn't been and had calmed down enough, I finished my route without incident. I've been back to that same spot since, both during the day and night, with and without someone in the car, but I have never seen or heard of that thing since. To be honest, I don't think I want to. I don't know how it didn't see me, seeing as how it was only about 10 yards away from my car with my high beams on. Or maybe it did and didn't care. Whatever the case, I don't know what I would've done if it had seen me or had approached me but I'm just glad it didn't.
1:58 A similar thing happened to my parents in December, except they actually got robbed, by the goddamn cartel. The real kick to the teeth was that my parents were only driving to Morelia was because my grandma passed away and they were going to the funeral. They also robbed some of my cousins, aunts and uncles because some of them drove instead of flying there (they lived closer to the border). When they came back my mom told me how they took all the cash they had in their pockets then proceded to the next car in line, yeah they had a damn blockade. My mom was glad me and my brother stayed home (it was very sudden and they left late at night) because she would of been terrified at what they would of done if we were there.
driving home after seeing friends, it's about 11:00pm. I live in a small village which is unlit like the country roads to it. As I slow for a give way, a shirtless bloody man runs in front of my car and stands blocking me. before I can react 2 other men get in the back of my car and sit quietly. the other man then gets in the front seat next to me and says drive. I've only been driving for a year or so at this point and im absolutely terrified. He directs me through the turns out away from home. at this point I'm weighing up jumping out when he says turn here. I turn into a travellers camp and he smiles hands me £25 and they get out. I lock my doors as soon as I get in ever since!
As a former newspaper delivery driver I saw some crazy shit many times. I was even chased by a car and dude tried to corner me with his car but I got away. Started carrying a gun after this :/ Saw some weird lights in the sky many times, a creepy feckin mannequin standing upright on the road (thought it was a lady) and almost ran over a huge porcupine. Lots of coyotes too. Almost took a donkey's head off once. There was a lot more crazy stuff but I don't like to think about it. Fuck that job.
I walked out behind my buddy's apartment to take a piss, and as I'm pissing I see a shadow move, so I look as far back around as I can, and I see a guy just standing at the edge of the neighbors porch just staring at the sky, slightly shifting from side to side. I had been reading a series of zombie books before this, and seeing that made me jump hard as fuck lol. I put my shit away and sprinted back around the house

So like, my mom and I were driving at night, and I spot a suspiciously body shaped bag, about the size of a preteen or teen. I thought about informing the police using the non emergency line but my mom talked me out of it. Since murder rates are so high here, found bodies are seldom reported on by the news unless they were significant.

Two creepy things I've seen on the road. - watching a drunk man get crushed to death by a car on an abandoned two lane road in rural Texas. If I had any way to describe the scene, it was like watching a fly getting swatted except it was a human being and I wouldn't wish the sight of that mangled corpse on anyone. - a mysterious and thick fog that suddenly appeared out of nowhere when I was driving home a little past midnight in my home town in Texas. It was never forecast and it was so bad that I could barely see anything past a few yards. Creepy thing about it was that we very rarely get any kind of fog in my area of Texas. I was driving alone in my pickup and I was the only vehicle out there, so it suddenly went from a peaceful night time drive to having so much fog surrounding me it was like something out of a Silent Hill game in less than five seconds. Then suddenly headlights appeared behind me and then suddenly switched off and disappeared. That definitely put me on edge a little bit, but I tried to ignore it and continue home. Then as I pulled in my driveway I remember seeing my truck's brake lights highlight a car with no headlights behind me. I was basically trapped, and so I tried intimidating him by pulling out my somewhat large tactical knife and shined my phone's flashlight on it. I guess he must've seen it and got the idea I wasn't going down easy because I saw him slowly back his car away and drive off into the night. The second he was gone I floored it and closed the gate to our house. I slowly walked backwards to my house with the flashlight pointed at the gate and my knife drawn because I was so on edge. I locked the doors, made sure all of the windows were shut and locked, and I didn't sleep until sunrise. I never told my parents about what happened out of fear of getting banned from going out at night, but damn that was freaky and could have turned out very differently if I didn't have that knife on me.
When I was a kid we were headed back home after seeing a family member or something I remember looking out my window and as someone dressed as scream riding a bicycle on the highway about 2 lanes over but since my parent was driving and looking ahead of us and my sister was sleeping I was the only one who saw him still freaks me out to this day
Was driving down the road around 11, not a motel in sight, when I saw one. It was called Alyssas Motel, and it looked like it was written in blood, and it was very worn down, and I swear I heard child giggling when I passed it. Apparently murders are fairly often very close to that area. Only reason I wasn't creeped out is that there was a lot of cars there. Edit: Right next to it was a sign that said "EGGS" pointing down to a pitch-black, long street, and the street sign said "Dead End."
my mom while pregnant with me blew out her tire on the highway really late at night and to avoid crashing drove into a ditch a few seconds later a car drove up and four large muscular dudes with visible tattoes piercings and general cliche criminal things got out and started walking over my mom feared for her life as this was right next to an extremely sketchy neighborhood they knocked on her window and told her how they saw her tire blow out and offered to fix it so she could get away from the place a couple minutes later theyd changed her tire and pushed her car back up to the highway they waved as she drove off scared the shit out of her but it was extremely lucky those nice guys helped her out as there were a lot of murders and robbings in that area that night

I'm not a driver but I work directly with drivers once my delivery run is prepared. Three crazy stories I've heard from the drivers: 1) One night, a driver drove past a crashed car covered comprehensively in huge flames. There was no sign of any kind of emergency vehicles around the area. It's an area with relatively frequent gang violence. 2) A different driver's route requires him to manuever a dangerously slim mountain road that had no streetlights to reach the facilities he is tasked to deliver to. For a couple of weeks, every few days he would nearly run over a homeless man who was walking in the middle of that dark, dangerous road. It turned out he was trying to kill himself and possibly trying to take someone with him. It eventually stopped happening, so, unfortunately for someone else, that homeless man must've succeeded. 3) Another driver quit her route because she was attacked by coyotes while making one of her deliveries. She continued driving after the first incident, despite some minor injury, believing she wouldn't encounter them again. They appeared again and chewed up her leg pretty badly. She refused to deliver to that facility again, and when no other driver would be willing to take it from her route one night, she quit.
My mother and I were heading home after shopping one night. We lived in a rural area. A mile from our house we saw what we thought was a large dog crossing the road slowly. We slowed to a stop. We realized it wasn’t a dog. It was an enormous cat. It was a black panther. It stopped right in front and turned its head as if looking at us. Then it slowly crossed into a neighbor’s yard. A few days later the neighbor called the cops as the panther was just a few feet from their front door. It’s not an animal native to our area. Best guess is it was a pet that got away or escaped a zoo. It was absolutely freaky.
When I was a kid living in a house in the woods. I crossed the road to get the mail out of the mailbox and saw a black panther staring at me . I turned around and ran back in the house.
Saw a man hanging from a tree when driving through a countryside in Poland in the early hours (it was already light outside). I was about 13 at the time, and recently asked my mum if I imagined it but she said it was real. His head was all blue.
8:03 .... Well, we weren't on our way to Utah- but we were coming from Utah entering into Colorado. I don't know the specifics, really- but it was me and my best friend. We stopped several times for gas, and at one point i remember us eating at a picnic table somewhere out in the boonies. We had been driving for hours... and i really wanted something to drink and eat. We spent a long time there- maybe an hour or so. I vaguely remember some asshole trailing us for a bit- I don't remember if we pulled over to get him off our back- but i do think i recall someone in a red truck on the side of the road. Could just be a crazzzy similar story..... but.. man... i am thankful for whoever that guy is, if this story was about us.
I was riding in a car with my mom when I was a kid in the 80's in the middle of the night going down the back roads between Arkansas and Oklahoma. Suddenly two opossums looked like they were thrown in middle of the road right in front of us. My mom slammed on the brakes. A man in overalls with a shotgun stood up in the bushes next to my door. I yelled at my mom that guy has a gun. She saw him a floored it around those opossums. She did about 90 mph for the next 20 minutes. She said later that the guy reminded her of the movie deliverance. It has been almost 40 years since that happened I still have never seen the movie...and I have no intention of ever seeing it.
My sister left for the navy ,when she got back she lived with her uncle. One night she saw a huge dog dring home. I should point out this was near desert Arizona. She described it as nearly the size of a pick up truck. The area was inhabbited by Indian tribes
I hate finding these things so late, but one time when my mom and I were coming home from visiting family in San Diego, we passing through the Arizona desert in pitch black darkness. We hadn't seen another car for miles, and certainly not for at least 10-15 minutes, but eventually, we see a little pair of headlights way way behind us, a couple miles back down the road. No big deal, but as a few minutes passed, my mom mentions she couldn't see any car attached to the lights as it was getting closer. I looked back at it, and I could swear it was like the lights weren't touching the ground. As we drove over dips and bumps in the road, the lights didn't move up or down to show it. This was the closest it got, and it was still only half a mile or so away, but then proceeded to back off a bit to about 1-1.5 miles as we started moving to take the next exit. We were the only people on that road as far as the eye could see. Just us and those lights. In the 15 seconds it takes us to get up the off-ramp, a big loud semi truck storms through on the road we were just on, like it had just appeared out of nowhere. I've had some moments where I'd felt I may have seen something paranormal at work, only to feel like an idiot for overlooking an obvious explanation, but _there is no way that truck could have possibly been there_

theres this old story in my city locals know, it goes; a taxi driver was on a night shift and he happened to use this highway that had a lot of scary tails in the past. A lady took the taxi but it was quiet for a while, the driver asked the lady where she was headed to...no response, he turned to look at the rear view mirror to ask once again but the lady was gone. dundun its 1 am wtf am i doing
Alright, I got a ride home from one of my mother’s friends. It was dark, winter and snowstorm. A lot of cars. Everything went smoothly and I and mom’s friend got home safely. Two weeks after that night, I learned that this friend had went to get their eyesight checked... Turned out that they couldn’t see more then 10 meters ahead of them
Driving in my Porsche, top down, 2am, in a rural area. Not much light, just whatever my headlights made. I'm cruising around 50 MPH, and Jeepers Creepers flies overhead. I said fuck that my convertible top is down! I wasn't about to stop to put the top back up so I smashed the gas. Going 100 MPH the Jeepers Creepers flies overhead again! I can't make out the face of this thing because there wasn't enough lighting. Due to curves in the road, I had to slow down...and Jeepers Creepers flies over again. I screamed at the f-ing thing...HEY, FUCK OFF!!!, so it flew over me again. As I was slowly fainting, I was able to slow down my car and pull over before passing out. I farmer woke me up in the morning, around 530am. I told him what I saw, and his response was... "that's why nobody drives through this area after dark. You're lucky whatever it is didn't kill you or fly away with you. In the last 10 years, there's been over 20 missing persons and unsolved incidents."
There was one time when I was in the back seat and my stepdad swerved out the way of a drunk guy or a druggie walking down the A1 like who the hell does that
Years ago a friend of mine and I were driving in her car heading to her place late at night, which was up in our local mountains. It was a Clear night no moon no clouds The road we were on borders a battlefield from the Spanish/ American War. As we we're driving her headlights lite up what appeared to be a single mass of smoke or cloud in the shape of a short man in the middle of the road. As we got closer it got brighter. At first I thought I was just imaging things then she looked and said "WTF was that?"

I live in Kenya and sometimes google maps does not know where a safe or dangerous road one night I was driving with my dad and there were rocks on the road he floored it right on top of them and then a second later a rock hit our back window I looked back and saw 3 guys come out with machetes and more rocks, I had never seen my dad book out of a place so fast
Once when I was in middle school I was coming back from a Philly hospital with my brother. We had just dropped off my sister and after a long day we were heading back. It was maybe 2-3am on a weekday and there weren’t that many cars out. I remember we were heading on to a bridge and the only other car was a white van that was in front of us. Suddenly the van stopped maybe 900 ft in front of us and as my brother slowed down they started opening the doors. Thankfully my bro reacted quickly and swerved away from them and hit the gas. Idk what would have happened if he hadn’t.
I've driven past people on several occasions walking down the verges of rural roads dressed completely in black at night. My parents once hit someone dressed in black walking down the road. When my parents got out he insisted he was ok. Apparently he was an American illegally in the country (UK) going pub to pub playing music (he was carrying a guitar)
I was driving on a dark road, no moon, middle of the forest on a river road. I turn a corner and I hit my brakes because there’s a brown giant lump in the road. Thoughts of the people who die because they hit a dead dear in the road, I fully stop. But it’s not a deer? It moves and before fear can even filter through my brain giant wings about six foot span spread out and it takes off. Last thing I saw was giant round eyes. Found out that night owls will sit on the road because it happened two more times that night alone.
I was driving back home from a long one off trip. Rural area, google maps took me down a one lane gravel road with trees really close on both sides. It was raining hard, dark, dusky and the only thing playing on any radio station was a marimba. I swear a man stepped out of those woods at one point. I freaked out, kept driving and silently hoped our google overlords hadn't marked me for termination.

My friends and I saw a white ball at a four way stop next to school. It was bouncing across the cross walk. As it got to the other side it started to float above the center of the adjacent crosswalk. It had then started to turn red as it rotated. We quickly drove of afterward. Just very creepy.

Many of years ago. Driving down a highway in Tennessee not far from Nashville late at night with a lighting show above. "Where are the trucks?" I asked my passenger. Sure traffic dies down later it gets but how long we've gone without seeing a semi was abnormal. We eventually pass a section that ran off the highway and spotted it full of Semi's. "Why are the semi's off the road" By now I am on the verge of panic because rule one of traveling. If Semi's are off the road there is trouble and you should probably get off as well and figure out what is going on. However we didn't get the chance because as soon as I finished that question hell broke out. Heavy rain hell, lightning went insane. I would have pulled over at that point but I couldn't see a thing. Thankfully we ended up finding one semi on the road and started tail gating his truck till we could make out an exit. Turns out a tornado had crossed the highway we were on.
When i was young i went with my mom to the mountain. We had to descend the lower part of the mountain to get to the closest city to then go on the highway. It was snowing. No1 was there. My mom decodes to stop on the side of the road to take some night pictures with some expensive camera that she just bought. We heard a scream. A VERY F ING LOUD ONE. Human i think. We get in the car and slam the gas. Neer stopped there again.
Two stories: This first one didn't happen at night. Was riding backseat from Northern NV to Vegas (a very long boring drive full of nothing. Then at about the 1/3 mark, we see this inky blackness start gradually engulfing the horizon. Then it grows and grows until we are driving literally on top of this inky black cloud. The vehicle starts to drift a little so the driver puts on the 4x4. The driver just bought this new truck and it had those new parking cams in the front and back. He turned the front one on and we could all see them. Millions upon millions of these alien looking bugs. The biggest swarm anyone had ever seen just sitting in the middle of the desert. It was so big that at one point they stretched from horizon to horizon and it looked as if we were driving on a mist of black with little speckles of road and dirt in between. We finally got through it and started scraping them out of the grill and the tires looked like they were made of really runny licorice. Found out they were Mormon Crickets the same ones from that story the Mormons tell. It truly looked like an apocalyptic plague. Second story: Actually happened at night. Several years later I am in Vegas at night and this half-nude fairy dude skips across the crosswalk with his wand flicking, wings flapping, and everything. Turns out we had just missed the gay-day parade.
Person 1: So what/who killed Steve? Person 2: Rumors will say it was Aliens. But it was actually a Balloon in the street in the middle of the night. Person 1: So Pennywise? When I was about 6 or 7 years old I went to a wedding with my parents and my brother. We left early in the morning, I want to say at 2 or 3 AM, got on a bus with lots of other people and drove off. It was an hour to 2 hours drive back to our family friend's house where we were staying, so my parents, my brother and everyone else on the bus fell asleep. Me and the bus driver were the only ones up. I didn't want to sleep because I slept for a long time during the wedding. I decided to get up and sit infront with the driver. As I walked to the front of the bus, I looked out the window and noticed we were driving on a straight, slim road surrounded by a huge... canyon-esque(??) hole on both sides of the road. It was filled with fog and I couldn't see down the canyon. There is no such thing in my country and even if there was they wouldn't let anyone drive there. The road was literally as wide as the bus and it just went straight. It was a sight to see, but the scary thing about it was me just sitting on the stairs of the bus looking out the window calmly and admiring the beautiful, eerie scene, the mood and setting of the whole experience, when everyone was sleeping and the driver was just quietly driving and the fact that I had no clue if I was dreaming or if I was awake and seeing imaginary things my 8 year old brain made up. Either way I was not scared or freaking out and it's the only thing I remember from that wedding. Till this day I keep telling this story to my mum.
okay obligatory not me post There is a zoo in Norway that opened around 50 years ago, and at first it was mostly petting zoo animals and a few bears, and after a while the owner decided CAMELS, cause he thought a camel export would be lucrative (this was before zoos started trading animals for free) In a book showing the history of the park, there was a newspaper clipping from the very beginning of the zoo, where this man was driving over the highway in mid february when suddenly BOOM, 3 camels on the freeway, in Norway, in the middle of Winter, in a snowstorm. He kind of panicked, and then figured out where the zoo was, drove there as fast as he could to grab a night guard exclaiming that they had some lost cargo out on the E6 XD
This story is my dads. It's not creepy scary its dangerous scary: He was driving on an empty motorway in London and he sees a light in the distance on his side of the road, it wasnt red so he knew it wasnt stop lights,it got closer and closer, until my Dad notices its HEADLIGHTS, turns out a drunkie passed my dad at 210 MPH on the wrong side of the road, imagine: My dad going:140 mph and a car with a DRUNK person passes 2 metres away going 210 mph. He immediately calls the police, they say ok we'll check cameras,30 seconds later they say: Boom we got him.. Damn

I have a story,
When I was, probably about 7 or so, I was walking down the road with my parents, I saw a stick on the side of the road, I walked closer to it when it moved. It was a snake. It had ran away from me after I got closer. My parents always say i got closer because i thought it was a dead snake, but idk how you would be able to tell that from a Black snake, plus in the shade from the grass.

It was late one night and we were returning home from my then husband's uncle's house. He was driving, I was in the passenger seat and our son was sleeping in the backseat. As we were pulling up to our house there were two men walking down the street and all of the sudden a severe feeling of terror and dread overcame me, right in the gut. As my ex was slowing down the men started to quicken their pace and I just started screaming "DRIVE! DRIVE! NOW!" My ex was so startled that he floored it and as I looked behind I could see one of the men pulling out a gun. A second later he lowered it, putting it back in his waistband and then both ran off. To this day I still have no idea how I knew that something was going to happen, but I'm glad I did.

I was driving on a country road at night and saw a car just up ahead that was either stopped or going really slow. I start to slow down and when I get close enough to read the registration and work out it was totally stationary it took off.
The spooky bit is it didn't take off and speed up really quick, I meant it went from totally stationary to 80-90 mph so suddenly I slammed on the breaks out of panic. If it was a Ferrari or something ridiculous like that I'd have thought nothing of it, but it was an old Toyota Corolla. I've heard of stealth cars, cars that look mundane but are stupid in terms of power and speed, but nothing could've done what I saw it do.

i was on the road about 15 minutes away from my house, going 65 on an old, empty road, when our headlights fell onto a figure, in an all black suit and black hood, looking at the ground. after our headlight being on his face for a few seconds, his head jerked up to stare at us at a scary, unnatural speed. after passing him, my mom sped up. and that isn't the creepy part. the road was straight for miles, so there isn't any shortcut from one part of the road to the other. yet, 5 minutes later, the same person was standing there, on the side of the road, and did the same thing. not to scary, we just locked our doors and slept together in the living room with the lights on, all the doors locked, blinds closed, and music playing, as we huddled together praying we don't have nightmares. yeah. I tiny bit creepy. still casts a sense of fear on my heart even thinking about it.

Okay so this guy I think was drugged out or something but my sis worked late night shifts it's midnight in the city phx az driving in a very public place. All doors unlocked and we slow to a turn. My sis and Mom in deep conversation and I'm in the back lm 18 looking out the window. See a guy in ahoodie right totally not scary see ppl like that all the time druggies. But he was facing me as we slow to turn he stares directly into my eyes and his face turns into a grotesque kinda reminiscent of a pedophile grin. He swiftly pulls out an object and it glints in the light from the convenience store. My mom briefly stops and I'm still following this guys stare in the back window and tell my mom to GO HES RUNNING and she turns and asks a question. This man I kid you not full on sprints for our car doors and after we turn I see him meet my terrified gaze in the distance with his sharp long knife.
Right after I ask my mom and sis if they were paying attention and my mom said she saw him start running after us and that's why she hit the gas.

Similar thing that happened to my friend's father. Now some details. This happened in the Mindanao Island of the Philippines. His father is going home late, driving a motorcycle. The road is largely cutting through a forest, just trees everywhere. Then his father passed by a white dog. Doesn't think something strange about it. Then later another white dog he had passed by. Now he's thinking about it, two dogs looked similar kilometres apart. Then the third time a similar white dog he had passed by. Now this time it is chasing him. His father panicked and twist the throttle of the motorcycle as far as it can go. Hitting the redline. It was a huge laugh when he's telling about it.
Late night driving is my absolute favorite thing. It has this sort of foreboding, but tranquil feel.

So I have a story when I was little probably about 6 I was playing in the back of the car with my coloring books when my dad stops the car hard like I mean he has never stopped this hard! But as I lean over to see what’s happened my dad pulls out his phone and dials 911 apparently my dad claimed he’d just seen some man chasing a women across the street into the forest! Btw it was like pitch black out and we were driving to Michigan! Needless to say the police didn’t find anything but footprints! Still freaks me out to this day.

I do doordash late at night for extra cash (thank you lazy, drunk people) and I often go into apartment complexes or sketchy areas that are dimly lit and a maze when trying to find an address. I had finished dropping off food to a customer and had a good 400 yard walk to my car and I felt as if I was being followed. Sure enough I just briefly turn around and about 40 yards behind me theres this dude in blue jeans and a black hoody just walking behind me, obviously tailing me. I speed up a little bit, i can hear his pace change to match mine. I round the corner and kind of run further ahead and hide in this dark corner 20 feet off the path and sure enough I hear him change to a jog and he rounds the corner and assumes I have took off straight down the path and carries on. This is why I now conceal carry my 9mm on my night shifts.
I live on the far end of a long dead end street. There's a stop sign at the far end away from my house where I can pull onto a busy road. It's a four lane road, two in each direction with a raised grass median in the middle. Obviously there's a turn so people can turn onto my street, but if I want to turn left I have to cross the median. I'm driving at midnight to get taco bell. I pull up into the median and there is literally zero cars around because it's midnight. A little ways away in the distance I notice a car driving down the road in my direction. I'm really big on waiting for cars to pass when I make turns. Something about having them behind me really sets me off, so I decide to wait for this car to pass by before turning. The road he's on is a two lane and since I'm sitting in the median waiting to turn, there is obviously a turning lane to my right that is empty. This car, while still in the driving lane, stops in the middle of the road, right front of where the turning lane ends but is not in the turning lane, there is no red light where he is, no stop sign, no reason for him to stop and we proceed to stare each other down for the next 3 minutes straight. I do not take my eyes off him because he is looking directly at me and I directly at him. We are not even 15 feet apart. I don't even blink. I think I won because he ended up driving off. That's the thing though, when this car stopped in front of me and made "wave on" sign to me in the middle of the night with zero other cars around while sitting in a driving lane, serious alarms bells were ringing. On my way home from Taco Bell the same car was following me, I know because no one makes 4 left turns for no reason. I learned how to shake a tail that night and I have never told my mother about this incident and I never will.

I wasn’t driving. But it was me, my mom, my aunt who was driving, and cousin. We were leaving my brothers wedding reception. It was around 10:00 p.m, and we were up in the mountain of West Virginia. At the corner of my eye I seen something running towards the road. Then I screamed “stop, stop, stop” to my aunt. She then slammed her breaks going down this two lane road. And at least 5-7 deer run in front of the car.

I was once driving my sister home from a late night movie. It was a little past midnight and when we reached our house this car pulled up and turned on its flashers, parking by a stop sign. He got out and walked around his car acting distressed (like...really exaggerating). Something felt extremely off so I told my sister to just run for the house. We both paused before running and thinking it over now it looked like that man had something hidden in his hand/up his sleeve (I have a sneaking suspicion it was either a pistol or a weird shaped knife) but the creepy part is that when we got inside and looked out the window to see if it was just our imagination or if the guy did have bad intent, the guy sped off. To this day I have no idea what he was planning (do you guys have any ideas on what?) But it still freaks me out that my little sister was there too and she could've been in potential danger.
Once when I was driving along a highway at night, it was shortly after 3am, I pulled over to urinate. There were no street lights here so it was quite dark. I heard what sounded like a blood curdling scream. It was loud and sounded pretty close. I got back in my car and noped out of there as quick as I could. No idea what made that sound and I certainly did not feel like investigating at the time.
A friend and I were driving a few counties over from ours in rural Tennessee one night around midnight. One stretch was very dark with no houses or anything around just corn on both sides and no houses for miles. All of a sudden we seen a little boy maybe around 10 step outta the corn and just stand there as we passed. My friend was like maybe we should see if he needs help but I said no. My gut was telling me to keep going and thats what I did.
My dad and I were driving down an empty road at like 1 or 2 in the morning one night. We were just casually driving along when we saw what looked like an animal run towards us, and we both looked at the same time to see it was a really weird shadow. There was only one light and the shadow wasn't even on the side of it that would make any sense if it were like a deer running through the ditch. Not even half an hour later, two people were walking on the side of the road and lunged towards us suddenly for no reason and my dad swerved by them and sped away. It was down-pouring and this road was like 10 miles from the nearest town, so it makes no sense that two people would be walking there at 2 A.M. This was also the same road my mom had seen an entire group of people standing on the side of the road during a storm, staring across the road at nothing at midnight a few months prior.
Scariest for me seeing at night was probably a kidnapping. I saw a guy pulling this girl inside his van while she tried to run away, he covered her mouth. I called the cops gave a description, never knew what happened next. Scary though.
One night walking back from work I looked over into a field and saw a thin, dark, straight figure before there were any trees, unmoving, just there. I thought, "I don't remember that. Either that's a new pole or that's Slenderman." (I used to walk that route often in the daytime)
When I came back by the next day it wasn't there. Possibly not Slenderman, but definitely not a pole.

This was scary for a different reason.
I was driving home at night With a friend, through a rural area. Suddenly, I slammed on the brakes because a family of skunks was crossing of the road. Mom and a whole bunch of babies.
However, my stopping on my lights or something confuse them, because they just stayed in the road. I couldn’t drive forward, and eventually other cars came up behind me. They didn’t know why I stopped, and drove around me, scaring the skunks even more. Eventually, the mother skunk and most of her babies made it to the other side of the road, but one of them backed up and went back to the original side.
We couldn’t think of a way to get it back to its mother without possibly getting scratched/bitten by a wild animal or sprayed on... and the mom might not take it back once we touched it.
So we just left them there. I don’t think baby skunk made it back to mommy...

I've delivered papers for most of the last 4 years. There's one road I used to deliver on that is probably about a mile long. I normally only drove about half way up it. It goes all the way up the side of a hill and stops just before the interstate at the edge of a steep embankment. It's heavily forested and after about where I normally turned around, there's only a couple houses and they're pretty far from the road.
One day, about 3 years ago, I was very tired and having crashed before due to drowsiness, I decided to go all the way up to the top of the road, shut off the car, and catch some quick sleep where I wouldn't disturb anyone. I usually can only sleep about 30 minutes at a time in my car, which is enough sleep for me to be able to stay up till I'm done with my route but not too long as to put me behind schedule.
It was about 5 in the morning but it was winter time so it was pretty much pitch black out. I had got to the top of the road and turned around so I could just drive off when I got up. I had just shut the engine off and was about to turn my lights off to catch some Zs, when what I can only describe as a whitetail deer that was standing vertically on its two hind legs walked out in front of me. My headlights were still on and I could clearly see this thing walk out of the woods to my left, straight across in front of me, and saunter off into the woods to my right.
My heart was pounding like I was watching an alien walk past me. The moment I couldn't see the thing anymore without turning my head because I was stock still as to not draw its attention, I jammed the key to start, my engine revved up, and I took off down the hill. My car at the time could do 0-60 in 10 seconds and I had my foot to the floor for atleast that long if not 5 seconds longer. I was flying, praying to every benevolent god and deity I could think of that this wasn't some kinda cheetah-like monster that could keep up with my car.
I reached the bottom of the hill and had to slam on my brakes as to not cross the main road and plow into a house. I sat there long enough to let my heart rate slow, constantly looking into my rearview to see if I was followed. When I was sure I hadn't been and had calmed down enough, I finished my route without incident. I've been back to that same spot since, both during the day and night, with and without someone in the car, but I have never seen or heard of that thing since. To be honest, I don't think I want to. I don't know how it didn't see me, seeing as how it was only about 10 yards away from my car with my high beams on. Or maybe it did and didn't care. Whatever the case, I don't know what I would've done if it had seen me or had approached me but I'm just glad it didn't.

The real kick to the teeth was that my parents were only driving to Morelia was because my grandma passed away and they were going to the funeral. They also robbed some of my cousins, aunts and uncles because some of them drove instead of flying there (they lived closer to the border). When they came back my mom told me how they took all the cash they had in their pockets then proceded to the next car in line, yeah they had a damn blockade. My mom was glad me and my brother stayed home (it was very sudden and they left late at night) because she would of been terrified at what they would of done if we were there.
driving home after seeing friends, it's about 11:00pm. I live in a small village which is unlit like the country roads to it. As I slow for a give way, a shirtless bloody man runs in front of my car and stands blocking me. before I can react 2 other men get in the back of my car and sit quietly. the other man then gets in the front seat next to me and says drive. I've only been driving for a year or so at this point and im absolutely terrified. He directs me through the turns out away from home. at this point I'm weighing up jumping out when he says turn here. I turn into a travellers camp and he smiles hands me £25 and they get out. I lock my doors as soon as I get in ever since!
As a former newspaper delivery driver I saw some crazy shit many times. I was even chased by a car and dude tried to corner me with his car but I got away. Started carrying a gun after this :/ Saw some weird lights in the sky many times, a creepy feckin mannequin standing upright on the road (thought it was a lady) and almost ran over a huge porcupine. Lots of coyotes too. Almost took a donkey's head off once. There was a lot more crazy stuff but I don't like to think about it. Fuck that job.
I walked out behind my buddy's apartment to take a piss, and as I'm pissing I see a shadow move, so I look as far back around as I can, and I see a guy just standing at the edge of the neighbors porch just staring at the sky, slightly shifting from side to side. I had been reading a series of zombie books before this, and seeing that made me jump hard as fuck lol. I put my shit away and sprinted back around the house

So like, my mom and I were driving at night, and I spot a suspiciously body shaped bag, about the size of a preteen or teen. I thought about informing the police using the non emergency line but my mom talked me out of it. Since murder rates are so high here, found bodies are seldom reported on by the news unless they were significant.

Two creepy things I've seen on the road.
- watching a drunk man get crushed to death by a car on an abandoned two lane road in rural Texas. If I had any way to describe the scene, it was like watching a fly getting swatted except it was a human being and I wouldn't wish the sight of that mangled corpse on anyone.
- a mysterious and thick fog that suddenly appeared out of nowhere when I was driving home a little past midnight in my home town in Texas. It was never forecast and it was so bad that I could barely see anything past a few yards. Creepy thing about it was that we very rarely get any kind of fog in my area of Texas. I was driving alone in my pickup and I was the only vehicle out there, so it suddenly went from a peaceful night time drive to having so much fog surrounding me it was like something out of a Silent Hill game in less than five seconds. Then suddenly headlights appeared behind me and then suddenly switched off and disappeared. That definitely put me on edge a little bit, but I tried to ignore it and continue home. Then as I pulled in my driveway I remember seeing my truck's brake lights highlight a car with no headlights behind me. I was basically trapped, and so I tried intimidating him by pulling out my somewhat large tactical knife and shined my phone's flashlight on it. I guess he must've seen it and got the idea I wasn't going down easy because I saw him slowly back his car away and drive off into the night. The second he was gone I floored it and closed the gate to our house. I slowly walked backwards to my house with the flashlight pointed at the gate and my knife drawn because I was so on edge. I locked the doors, made sure all of the windows were shut and locked, and I didn't sleep until sunrise. I never told my parents about what happened out of fear of getting banned from going out at night, but damn that was freaky and could have turned out very differently if I didn't have that knife on me.

When I was a kid we were headed back home after seeing a family member or something I remember looking out my window and as someone dressed as scream riding a bicycle on the highway about 2 lanes over but since my parent was driving and looking ahead of us and my sister was sleeping I was the only one who saw him still freaks me out to this day

Was driving down the road around 11, not a motel in sight, when I saw one. It was called Alyssas Motel, and it looked like it was written in blood, and it was very worn down, and I swear I heard child giggling when I passed it. Apparently murders are fairly often very close to that area. Only reason I wasn't creeped out is that there was a lot of cars there.
Edit: Right next to it was a sign that said "EGGS" pointing down to a pitch-black, long street, and the street sign said "Dead End."
my mom while pregnant with me blew out her tire on the highway really late at night and to avoid crashing drove into a ditch a few seconds later a car drove up and four large muscular dudes with visible tattoes piercings and general cliche criminal things got out and started walking over my mom feared for her life as this was right next to an extremely sketchy neighborhood they knocked on her window and told her how they saw her tire blow out and offered to fix it so she could get away from the place a couple minutes later theyd changed her tire and pushed her car back up to the highway they waved as she drove off scared the shit out of her but it was extremely lucky those nice guys helped her out as there were a lot of murders and robbings in that area that night

I'm not a driver but I work directly with drivers once my delivery run is prepared. Three crazy stories I've heard from the drivers:
1) One night, a driver drove past a crashed car covered comprehensively in huge flames. There was no sign of any kind of emergency vehicles around the area. It's an area with relatively frequent gang violence.
2) A different driver's route requires him to manuever a dangerously slim mountain road that had no streetlights to reach the facilities he is tasked to deliver to. For a couple of weeks, every few days he would nearly run over a homeless man who was walking in the middle of that dark, dangerous road. It turned out he was trying to kill himself and possibly trying to take someone with him. It eventually stopped happening, so, unfortunately for someone else, that homeless man must've succeeded.
3) Another driver quit her route because she was attacked by coyotes while making one of her deliveries. She continued driving after the first incident, despite some minor injury, believing she wouldn't encounter them again. They appeared again and chewed up her leg pretty badly. She refused to deliver to that facility again, and when no other driver would be willing to take it from her route one night, she quit.

My mother and I were heading home after shopping one night. We lived in a rural area. A mile from our house we saw what we thought was a large dog crossing the road slowly. We slowed to a stop. We realized it wasn’t a dog. It was an enormous cat. It was a black panther. It stopped right in front and turned its head as if looking at us. Then it slowly crossed into a neighbor’s yard. A few days later the neighbor called the cops as the panther was just a few feet from their front door. It’s not an animal native to our area. Best guess is it was a pet that got away or escaped a zoo. It was absolutely freaky.
When I was a kid living in a house in the woods. I crossed the road to get the mail out of the mailbox and saw a black panther staring at me . I turned around and ran back in the house.

Saw a man hanging from a tree when driving through a countryside in Poland in the early hours (it was already light outside). I was about 13 at the time, and recently asked my mum if I imagined it but she said it was real. His head was all blue.
8:03 .... Well, we weren't on our way to Utah- but we were coming from Utah entering into Colorado. I don't know the specifics, really- but it was me and my best friend. We stopped several times for gas, and at one point i remember us eating at a picnic table somewhere out in the boonies. We had been driving for hours... and i really wanted something to drink and eat. We spent a long time there- maybe an hour or so. I vaguely remember some asshole trailing us for a bit- I don't remember if we pulled over to get him off our back- but i do think i recall someone in a red truck on the side of the road. Could just be a crazzzy similar story..... but.. man... i am thankful for whoever that guy is, if this story was about us.

I was riding in a car with my mom when I was a kid in the 80's in the middle of the night going down the back roads between Arkansas and Oklahoma. Suddenly two opossums looked like they were thrown in middle of the road right in front of us. My mom slammed on the brakes. A man in overalls with a shotgun stood up in the bushes next to my door. I yelled at my mom that guy has a gun. She saw him a floored it around those opossums. She did about 90 mph for the next 20 minutes. She said later that the guy reminded her of the movie deliverance. It has been almost 40 years since that happened I still have never seen the movie...and I have no intention of ever seeing it.
My sister left for the navy ,when she got back she lived with her uncle. One night she saw a huge dog dring home. I should point out this was near desert Arizona. She described it as nearly the size of a pick up truck. The area was inhabbited by Indian tribes
I hate finding these things so late, but one time when my mom and I were coming home from visiting family in San Diego, we passing through the Arizona desert in pitch black darkness. We hadn't seen another car for miles, and certainly not for at least 10-15 minutes, but eventually, we see a little pair of headlights way way behind us, a couple miles back down the road. No big deal, but as a few minutes passed, my mom mentions she couldn't see any car attached to the lights as it was getting closer. I looked back at it, and I could swear it was like the lights weren't touching the ground. As we drove over dips and bumps in the road, the lights didn't move up or down to show it. This was the closest it got, and it was still only half a mile or so away, but then proceeded to back off a bit to about 1-1.5 miles as we started moving to take the next exit.
We were the only people on that road as far as the eye could see. Just us and those lights.
In the 15 seconds it takes us to get up the off-ramp, a big loud semi truck storms through on the road we were just on, like it had just appeared out of nowhere. I've had some moments where I'd felt I may have seen something paranormal at work, only to feel like an idiot for overlooking an obvious explanation, but _there is no way that truck could have possibly been there_
I’ve seen the running shadows myself driving from Kalgoorlie to dongra Western Australia- this is exactly what happened.

theres this old story in my city locals know, it goes; a taxi driver was on a night shift and he happened to use this highway that had a lot of scary tails in the past. A lady took the taxi but it was quiet for a while, the driver asked the lady where she was headed to...no response, he turned to look at the rear view mirror to ask once again but the lady was gone.

Everything went smoothly and I and mom’s friend got home safely.
Two weeks after that night, I learned that this friend had went to get their eyesight checked... Turned out that they couldn’t see more then 10 meters ahead of them
So many people put themselves in dangerous situations needlessly.... Y'all lucky you never got a Darwin award.
Driving in my Porsche, top down, 2am, in a rural area. Not much light, just whatever my headlights made. I'm cruising around 50 MPH, and Jeepers Creepers flies overhead. I said fuck that my convertible top is down! I wasn't about to stop to put the top back up so I smashed the gas. Going 100 MPH the Jeepers Creepers flies overhead again! I can't make out the face of this thing because there wasn't enough lighting. Due to curves in the road, I had to slow down...and Jeepers Creepers flies over again. I screamed at the f-ing thing...HEY, FUCK OFF!!!, so it flew over me again. As I was slowly fainting, I was able to slow down my car and pull over before passing out. I farmer woke me up in the morning, around 530am. I told him what I saw, and his response was... "that's why nobody drives through this area after dark. You're lucky whatever it is didn't kill you or fly away with you. In the last 10 years, there's been over 20 missing persons and unsolved incidents."

Years ago a friend of mine and I were driving in her car heading to her place late at night, which was up in our local mountains. It was a Clear night no moon no clouds The road we were on borders a battlefield from the Spanish/ American War. As we we're driving her headlights lite up what appeared to be a single mass of smoke or cloud in the shape of a short man in the middle of the road. As we got closer it got brighter. At first I thought I was just imaging things then she looked and said "WTF was that?"

I live in Kenya and sometimes google maps does not know where a safe or dangerous road one night I was driving with my dad and there were rocks on the road he floored it right on top of them and then a second later a rock hit our back window I looked back and saw 3 guys come out with machetes and more rocks, I had never seen my dad book out of a place so fast
Once when I was in middle school I was coming back from a Philly hospital with my brother. We had just dropped off my sister and after a long day we were heading back. It was maybe 2-3am on a weekday and there weren’t that many cars out. I remember we were heading on to a bridge and the only other car was a white van that was in front of us. Suddenly the van stopped maybe 900 ft in front of us and as my brother slowed down they started opening the doors. Thankfully my bro reacted quickly and swerved away from them and hit the gas. Idk what would have happened if he hadn’t.
I've driven past people on several occasions walking down the verges of rural roads dressed completely in black at night. My parents once hit someone dressed in black walking down the road. When my parents got out he insisted he was ok. Apparently he was an American illegally in the country (UK) going pub to pub playing music (he was carrying a guitar)
I was driving on a dark road, no moon, middle of the forest on a river road. I turn a corner and I hit my brakes because there’s a brown giant lump in the road. Thoughts of the people who die because they hit a dead dear in the road, I fully stop. But it’s not a deer? It moves and before fear can even filter through my brain giant wings about six foot span spread out and it takes off. Last thing I saw was giant round eyes. Found out that night owls will sit on the road because it happened two more times that night alone.

It was raining hard, dark, dusky and the only thing playing on any radio station was a marimba. I swear a man stepped out of those woods at one point. Was driving with my friend to watch some fireworks in a nearby town, saw a road sign that we passed going about 65mph in the country. We both think it’s an actual Bigfoot. Next day we go down the same road and realize it’s just some vine growth going up the road sign

If you're in the southwest, doing 80mph, and in the fast lane, get over to the right. Going 5mph over isn't deserving of the fast lane especially when cops don't even think about pulling you over until you're going over 90.
Many of years ago. Driving down a highway in Tennessee not far from Nashville late at night with a lighting show above. "Where are the trucks?" I asked my passenger. Sure traffic dies down later it gets but how long we've gone without seeing a semi was abnormal. We eventually pass a section that ran off the highway and spotted it full of Semi's. "Why are the semi's off the road" By now I am on the verge of panic because rule one of traveling. If Semi's are off the road there is trouble and you should probably get off as well and figure out what is going on. However we didn't get the chance because as soon as I finished that question hell broke out. Heavy rain hell, lightning went insane. I would have pulled over at that point but I couldn't see a thing. Thankfully we ended up finding one semi on the road and started tail gating his truck till we could make out an exit. Turns out a tornado had crossed the highway we were on.

My mom decodes to stop on the side of the road to take some night pictures with some expensive camera that she just bought. We heard a scream. A VERY F ING LOUD ONE. Human i think. We get in the car and slam the gas. Neer stopped there again.

Two stories:
This first one didn't happen at night. Was riding backseat from Northern NV to Vegas (a very long boring drive full of nothing. Then at about the 1/3 mark, we see this inky blackness start gradually engulfing the horizon. Then it grows and grows until we are driving literally on top of this inky black cloud. The vehicle starts to drift a little so the driver puts on the 4x4. The driver just bought this new truck and it had those new parking cams in the front and back. He turned the front one on and we could all see them. Millions upon millions of these alien looking bugs. The biggest swarm anyone had ever seen just sitting in the middle of the desert. It was so big that at one point they stretched from horizon to horizon and it looked as if we were driving on a mist of black with little speckles of road and dirt in between. We finally got through it and started scraping them out of the grill and the tires looked like they were made of really runny licorice. Found out they were Mormon Crickets the same ones from that story the Mormons tell. It truly looked like an apocalyptic plague.
Second story: Actually happened at night. Several years later I am in Vegas at night and this half-nude fairy dude skips across the crosswalk with his wand flicking, wings flapping, and everything. Turns out we had just missed the gay-day parade.

When I was about 6 or 7 years old I went to a wedding with my parents and my brother.
We left early in the morning, I want to say at 2 or 3 AM, got on a bus with lots of other people and drove off. It was an hour to 2 hours drive back to our family friend's house where we were staying, so my parents, my brother and everyone else on the bus fell asleep. Me and the bus driver were the only ones up. I didn't want to sleep because I slept for a long time during the wedding. I decided to get up and sit infront with the driver. As I walked to the front of the bus, I looked out the window and noticed we were driving on a straight, slim road surrounded by a huge... canyon-esque(??) hole on both sides of the road. It was filled with fog and I couldn't see down the canyon.
There is no such thing in my country and even if there was they wouldn't let anyone drive there. The road was literally as wide as the bus and it just went straight.
It was a sight to see, but the scary thing about it was me just sitting on the stairs of the bus looking out the window calmly and admiring the beautiful, eerie scene, the mood and setting of the whole experience, when everyone was sleeping and the driver was just quietly driving and the fact that I had no clue if I was dreaming or if I was awake and seeing imaginary things my 8 year old brain made up. Either way I was not scared or freaking out and it's the only thing I remember from that wedding. Till this day I keep telling this story to my mum.

There is a zoo in Norway that opened around 50 years ago, and at first it was mostly petting zoo animals and a few bears, and after a while the owner decided CAMELS, cause he thought a camel export would be lucrative (this was before zoos started trading animals for free)
In a book showing the history of the park, there was a newspaper clipping from the very beginning of the zoo, where this man was driving over the highway in mid february when suddenly BOOM, 3 camels on the freeway, in Norway, in the middle of Winter, in a snowstorm. He kind of panicked, and then figured out where the zoo was, drove there as fast as he could to grab a night guard exclaiming that they had some lost cargo out on the E6 XD
This story is my dads. It's not creepy scary its dangerous scary: He was driving on an empty motorway in London and he sees a light in the distance on his side of the road, it wasnt red so he knew it wasnt stop lights,it got closer and closer, until my Dad notices its HEADLIGHTS, turns out a drunkie passed my dad at 210 MPH on the wrong side of the road, imagine: My dad going:140 mph and a car with a DRUNK person passes 2 metres away going 210 mph. He immediately calls the police, they say ok we'll check cameras,30 seconds later they say: Boom we got him..
