    For an optimal experience remember to take the time to define and refine the edges, interference zones and entrance as well as your detection zones.
    What are you planning on using the FP2 for? Let me know your ideas!

    Nice job with the FP2. I especially appreciate how you showed the setup with the zones, etc. and some of the tweaking you did with it. This part was absent from most of the reviews I've watched. You alluded to your setup failures that you had prior to this success and am trying to figure out what to do differently as I'm getting a failure every time I try the Automatic Configureatio, whether there's anyone in the room or not. Anyway, thank you.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hugh! The automatic configuration never really worked for me. It did place some interference zones but I found I needed to tweak those as well. Setting up the FP2 will be a mostly manual process and it will require quite a bit of setup and testing. I’m still tweaking my zones and I’ve had this for a few weeks! Prep is key, so take the time to set up all zones and you give the FP2 a better chance for success. Thanks for watching! 🙏

    Things I didn't know I needed! I have a room that's like a workshop and I have a certain routine to get the space in the right mood. This could automate all of that when I step into the space. Good video review, thanks!

    Hi Rey. This was a very helpful video as I was having a bit of difficulty setting up my recently obtained FP2 (largely because I never read installation guides...). I love your idea of overlapping zones where which zones are overlapped have their automations activated, especially for lights at night. This seems both simple to implement and a no-brainer for why this would be beneficial. Don't want the overlap? Don't program it in! Just give folks the option.
    I am working to get this set up in my home office. It is a separate building on my property and I go in and out of the office all day, upwards of 15 times per day. I can be out of the office for anywhere from 1-2 minutes to over an hour. Moreover, I am often pulled into other activities when out of the office, thereby making it difficult to estimate if I should shut the office down or not when I leave. Now I program the office to turn off the 10 lights of various use immediately after I leave and the other items after 5-10 minutes (HVAR, purifier, humidifier, etc.). These can all come back on immediately upon my return. I'm always trying to be ass efficient as possible with my electrical use, so I love what is possible here.

      The FP2 adds just another level of automation! No more wasted electricity in rooms that I have equipped this sensor as well. Glad you found it useful in your smart home as well! 🙏

    You can do so that one lamp is controlled so that when you leave the zone it lights up and goes out after 1 minute, i.e. it is quite bright in the room. Then, when you leave the second zone, again set this lamp to turn on and turn off after a minute. in this case you have light in the room. I set it up like that. It's a bit tricky, but there's no darkroom effect. Very nice channel, greetings. Sorry for the spelling, but I'm not an English speaker. 😊

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the suggestion. If we set the light to turn on then off after a minute if there is no detection, wouldn’t that make the light perpetually turn on and off when no one is present?

    • @AlterEgon666
      @AlterEgon666 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReyG_HKSH In fact, there is such a possibility, I have HUE Go as such an additional light, which shines slightly. I also set a cut-off time for it. It is a pity that the Apple HK application does not have the option of setting a delay of, for example, 10 seconds. Kind regards.

    edit….I figured it out!!!!!!!! Now it’s awesome
    For what the sensor actually does, it’s amazing. The only thing thats kind of bugging me out is why can’t I have it HomeKit to TURN OFF the lights IF it doesn’t detection motion in a specific zone for 2 mins (or any other time interval)? I’ve tried shortcuts as well. Has anyone else been success

    • @ReyG_HKSH

    Great review, and helped me to wait buying the FP2 until a smooth operation is demonstrated. Is it possible to have overlap in areas, so there is a small transition area in which the lights of both the areas are on? When you have tweaked your setup, will you place another video of the improved results? I would look forward to it. Thanks!

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So glad this video helped you make an informed decision. I’ve had the FP2 for a few weeks now and I find I still need to tweak the zones here and there. When you decide to dive in, the key is taking the time to define ALL zones, edges, entrances, detection, and interference. Thanks for taking the time to comment! 🙏

    • @derekluk2246
      @derekluk2246 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have just upgraded my Apple Home and see there is a covert to shortcut option. I have used that to add a delay in the automation and it works. This should work like overlap. If you switch zone, add a delay to that for like 10 seconds.

    Good review. I think I’ll wait to what other tech companies will put out the presence sensor. About a year ago, I heard Alexa could upgrade their later models of Echo devices with a firmware update. I’ll wait and see. Give me about 4 months.

    So I just added this to my house for testing. One interesting thing I notice is that it will still show my presence in a room long after I left, ending up with sometimes 2-3 copies of myself in rooms I am longer. Last sometimes 1-4 minutes. Is this something that can be re-calibrated to be more accurate?

    Is there a way not to have to create a new room like the “Great Room” when the sensor is capturing multiple rooms? I would like to have the living room sensor in the living room and the kitchen sensor in the kitchen room.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can place the sensor in any preexisting room you like. The zones that you create will all appear in that room. Since I have a open floor plan, the “Great” room includes a Family Room, Kitchen, and Nook. It’s just how I have it personally organized. YMMV.

    Does the Aqara app allow you to add a time buffer after presence is detected before enacting automation. I know it’s not possible in Apple home app.

    • @ReyG_HKSH
      @ReyG_HKSH  ปีที่แล้ว

      My thought was to set it to turn off with the initial automation after a minute or two, and the motion detected would delay the prompt but that may not work. Hopefully Aqara or Apple will give us the option in a future revision. I’ll be sending feedback to both. Thanks for watching! 🙏
