My latest camera build and setup for all my TV Shows, music videos, commercials, films and more!
If you were to get a camera now what would you get? Is it still a good time to spend money on Helium or Gemini or you would wait for Komodo? Of course if we don't consider the pandemic. I am sure prices will go even lower if the pandemic lasts longer which I think it will. I am asking because even though I got a loan from SBA as I am a freelance DP and colorist, I think I will wait a bit before spending money to anything. I see great deals on Helium packages but I am scared to pull the trigger for now. What if productions never pick up again or Red makes a new camera makes the Helium outdated. Probably not since it is 8K but still would like to hear your opinion. Thank you.
Also you live in Arizona, but work internationally. You have an amazing reel. Do you also have an agent? How do people find you from Arizona? Well with the popularity you have it shouldn't be hard to find you but just wondering how do you manage living in Arizona and working all around. I live in New York but thinking of moving to Vermont. Base myself in Vermont and market to New York.

I've been considering the Gemini as a step up from my FS7 for months now. I'd still keep the FS7 I think but the Gemini seems the perfect fit for higher end projects

Thanks for that Jakob! I've been looking into a RED and you provided me so many tips and tricks. What do you think of the new RED Dragon X? The price difference with the Gemini is basically my budget for the 7inch screen instead of the smaller one and a couple mini mags..

Love the setup! Ive been running a similar rig but with the scarlet-w. Bruh...that shiz gets heavy after a few hours of hand held!!! Gotzta eat more protein! haha

Thanks for the video - I’m thinking of selling my Canon C300 MK2 and getting a RED helium - but maybe I should go with a Gemini!? Is the 4K image any different from one to the other?

Hi, I have a question about the Life Cycle of RED Helium 8K. Nowadays, a lot of used cameras are on Ebay for very reasonable prices, but I didn't find the end life of RED Cameras. How many hours on the camera meter is good, and what is the max it can go before it's dead?

You should do a video about filming outdoors with cinema cameras with fans. Especially in dusty places I always stress over bringing out the cinema cameras. What are some of your tips for keeping a camera safe in rough outdoor conditions??

Hey can you make a video comparison of sony A1 8k footage and the red 8k footage. (not sure which red camera model has it)
I am curious to see how they both compare and is the sony 8k really that good or its just a marketing gimmick.

btw you should check out the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. It has dual ISO, that shoots clean footage at ISO 3200, shoots RAW at 60fps and it's only 1300$.

I'd be careful with the WC toplate, there's been plenty of them shorting out the boards on red cameras.
Also regarding the Helium v. Gemini-even the Helium beats your previous Dragon in low light. And I though I didn't want or need 8k until I had a bunch of Alexa and 4k projects and in post you are so spoiled with the extra 4x resolution that an 8k sensor gives.

I'm more of an amateur filmmaker and I need autofocus because a lot of things I shoot there's only me. Is there any addon you can get for RED cameras that can do autofocus?
