@@MetalGuitarTimo Huge +1 for Mors Pricipium Est. I just discovered them thanks to you, amazing production, massive sound, great vocals, great variety, great melody. Amazing recommendation, thank you!
Brutal and beautiful at the same time. How can people not like the clean singing part. It sounded right from the heart, I get shivers during the part he sings 'cry'.
webb71 A7x got me into heavier music in general (first heavy band I listened to), they were like a stepping stone lol (still a huge fan). They are definitely good, especially some of their non-mainstream songs are so unique, but still it isn't compared to this epicness, this just another level lol.
totally!! i liked the initial days/albums of A7X but the band kinda digressed acc to me, as some would say 'progressed' but technically on all levels Sylosis is crazy \m/

Can confirm they're this good live too, albeit Sylosis don't even attempt performing songs like this live anymore without Jamie, it's not the same no matter how good Josh is on vocals lol.

Sylosis is a British heavy metal band from Reading, Berkshire. After getting signed to Nuclear Blast Records in 2007, the band have released four studio albums, a live album and two EPs. Their fourth album Dormant Heart was released on 12th january 2015.
This is the first song I heard from this band. It is awesome! I will research further. Drums and vocals brutal with angry riffs and shredding solos. Much headbanging!
Metal is metal, no matter how many narrow minded people accuse bands of not being metal. All kinds of other genres have similar bands and similar sounds, it's part of music.
This is it, this is just what I feel in a song. I feel this in me as I listen to it and there is no other way to describe it other than it just feels right. This feels like the song that I would make to describe how I feel as a person. God I just align with this so much.
I'll never forget being 16, in the school library the last few days before xmas break just browsing the net and finding this freshly posted on Nuclear's TH-cam feed. Had to go on TH-cam every day to listen to it again every day after that for a few weeks. Truly epic.
At that time when metalcore was on the rise, not all bands knew how to creatively reconcile weight and melody. But this song is an example of that was not only possible but could also be done creatively and without compromising either weight or melody.
Message from the future. I'm a time traveller from the year 2124 and 22nd century metalheads think this song is fuckin lit. You guys were so lucky to see them live.
Literally seen them 12 times and overtime, they have blown my bloody mind.. favourite band and forever will be till i hit my grave! keep Sylosis going.
what would you call this from 3:55 to 4:00 ? I absolutely love it when bands have parts such as this. It's not necessarily a "technique" but it's definitely a discernible style of playing guitar. Think like three days grace just like you (first 20 seconds gives enough of a taste of what i mean) it's definitely not as similar of a comparison as i'd like considering pacing etc. but I could see it as rocks version of what i'm trying to describe.... unrelated note three days grace had some of the coolest mid range tones imo.
The guitar work is so epic!!! This song leaves me in awe every time I hear it! This one will be so fun to try and learn! Thanks for inspiring a huge fan from small town Indiana! 🎸
My wife told me about this band 4 years ago and I only got into them 2 months ago. I should have listened to her. These guys are just so good. I listen to them everyday while I drive around.
That's exactly what is is. Melodic death metal tends to be more our thing in England and Scandinavia. Metalcore more an American thing. We less cheesy than Americans lol.
I heard this band for the first time in London two days ago and I'm definitely a fan now 🤘🤘🤘They sound unique live 🥵😬🤘I would definitely listen to them live again🤯🤯🤯🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
For anyone that stumbles across this track as their first taste of the mighty Sylosis......they get better and better with each album so don't judge them by this alone.
+määp You like it because EOTE isn't metalcore. This album is arguably metalcore, but EOTE leans more towards thrash with a more melodic base. Not to be pedantic but...
BlueShift815 I don't know if i misunderstood something, but i mentioned that I don't usually like metalcore that much compared to some other metal.(This really isn't metalcore though but it has some elements) That being said, after listening EOTE few more times it has been growing on me, but it still isn't quite on CoaA level.
No offense, but I don't really feel like Metallica could reach this level. I heard them live and they could barely play their own solos, and Lars' drum playing was a joke.
+PossiblySquar'd so you're saying Metallica is worse than these guys? I don't think so... And it's not just me. Just look this vid has only 2 milion views, and it's the most well-known song from this band, while metallica's enter sandman reached almost 150 milion views. I agree Lars is a very bad drum player, but he created the band though... When you heard them live, they probably got a bad time. Just check out another concert of them on youtube. Always just perplexes me how these guys consistently make E Standard the heaviest tuning ever
I love it when bands do that, you don’t need to tune down to be heavy.

This is the song that got me into the more heavier forms of metal, it's funny how a band/song can change and push your musical tastes.

Man I really miss Jamie's vocals. His vocals are so raw and intense. By far one of the best heavy metal vocalists out there.

Richard davies Oh ok. Cool
the clean vocals are amazing
Did you listen to the whole song?
they are!!!!
This is the reason why "Conclusion Of An Age" is my favourite Sylosis's album. I miss Jamie Graham.
Exactly! This guy had the whole package, considering the sound of the band for that time, it's really sad that he has left the band :(
This dude was their best singer and this was their best album
\m/ We're glad to hear that
Josh Middleton you silly musical mastermind you.
Indeed. the issac newton of metal. check out his solo album the josh middleton project. So different and amazing.
