Sad that it’s his problem. I know it’s his lateral but what happens outside his property is outside of his control. Could have been caused by overweight trash trucks or fire trucks, earthquakes, or improperly backfilled in the first place
That $40K +/- cost is certainly nothing to sneeze at. Best of luck to the home owner. You got the drain running again and now there are new clean outs in case the sewer gets slow again.
jim caps are something else rubber caps with a band clamp are you talking a round concrete sewer box ? Anyway Curios was the 40 grand to replace a small section of 6 inch clay ? or go all the way to the new cleanouts in plastic eliminating the cast iron underground ?
You can snake out that line many times for 35,000 to 40,000 . Buy then it might be a new owner to worry about it. Sorry to duplicate an earlier message.
glad I went with the buried utility line coverage through my homeowners insurance
Great content series, good camera work...thxs for sharing
I understand too....money's tight...hopefully it will last for him
Hell yeah, yearly chains.
Another great Job!
35-40k, Thats not cheap, snake it out many times and still have plenty left over. See why he went that way, may still have to do something later.

You better hope the snake dont get stuck or u have to dig it anyway.
I thought the city was responsible for anything maintenance outside the home. Is it because the pipes hadn’t connected to the main sewer?

Won't there be settling issues after they pour new concrete because of the water? Or does that prevent it?
@WokeInsanity82 no the water helps it all settle. Once it dries it packs in like concrete
