Just watch your video on owning a big rig. I drove a big rig for 30years, and you’re right! the more you use it the better you get at it. I say enjoy what you have and be safe on your journey, where ever it leads you.
Too often we underestimate the power of heartfelt words,a listening ear,an honest opinion or the smallest act of caring or an genuine concern filled in a youtube video like yours, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward. You are a true inspiration for living life to the fullest. Thank you.
Great video guys!!! We FT in a 48’ TH for almost 2 years now and we talk about it ALL the time!! We would choose it again bcuz of the storage options and the separate living/garage space. We took out the bench seats and put a desk in there and our daughter and friends will visit and stay in the queen bed…they love it!!!In addition to the garage space, the loft is perfect for less frequently utilized things!!! We added a stackable washer/dryer in the half bath in the garage which we love. It kinda makes the garage seem less open bcuz it’s closed off, but it works well for us. The size really hasn’t been a big deal for us as we have been in some tight CG’s, but we are set up for boondocking like you guys, so we take advantage of the free camping when we can. We most certainly would choose a TH again, bcuz of the xtra storage options and a separate space that makes it feel more like a home. We use the Garmin RV GPS as well, but we also run the Hammer trucker app as well to backup the GPS. The Hammer app is free and IMO I like it better than the RV GPS. The RV GPS has let us down several times, but it was not an address issue. But, you guys are sooo right about inputting the correct address for it. As you guys make your way out west, there is a very niiiice RV park called Bryce Valley Ranch RV & Horse Park that we are staying at which we love. Great location with good rates for longer stays. The owners Pete and Sherry have an awesome place which IMO is a hidden gem!!! They close for the winter in early November. 👍😃🍻
Awesome. I’ll checkout the Hammer app. You’re the second to mention that one. Never hurts to have a backup. Thanks for the campground suggestion. Appreciate it
@@kristenmccreary8692We have. Luxe 47FB. We were fortunate to place our order over 2.5 years ago to avoid the 4 price increases that transpired after locking in our price. Otherwise, we would not have purchased one - toooo priceeee now!
I love your videos! Been binge watching and I never binge watch anything lol. I have had 3 bumper pulls. One was not a toy hauler. But they have all been small. We are looking at an alliance 44v13 new. Upgrading our truck this weekend. Planning on full-time in the spring 🎉 thank you for the fabulous information. We are campers but not full time campers yet!
Thank you for the weekly videos, it helps so much in our research. We are going full time in another year or so, wondering what trim level your F350 is?
Hello. Many people will say never buy new, but for me... new is generally better. The warranty, the knowing what is what from the start. Buying used, yes the price is better, but you have to figure to what others have done to the rig and sometimes people do some odd things. I'd have a ToyHauler w/w/d in the back if I had help , but...so good for you two!!! Would have been nice to meet up with you two, here in SD. Safe travels!! Thanks for sharing.
What a great setup. Alliance has one of the nicest Toy Hauler setups and your mods have made it very versatile while still being homey. Very useful information. All the best!
Considering full time and have been downsizing...just found your channel and subbed. Love your content and hope you are healing. Saying lots of prayers for you and your family. Love your transparency, vulnerability and spirit!!
Glad you are still happy with your choice. And yes diesel makes all the difference! We often find comfort in seeing semis. If they can make it we can make it. Safe travels!- Mike and Shelley
We want a large rig when we purchase and I REALLY appreciate your honesty!! SO great to hear you have no regrets about purchasing big! Makes me fear it less haha
I really like your channel and the information you provide. We have an Alliance 390mp because we needed 2 separate work areas and the length still scares me but I am getting better. I totally relate to you guys. Keep the content coming. I may pick up that dash cam in your last video.
Informative videos. Following to get info about boondocking. We have been full time for 12 years but have never boondocked. What is the name of your e-bikes?
Please make a video focused on State/National Parks that fit your rig, as well as any RV Parks you've stayed at! And how to look for sites that fit your rig with google earth! We're looking at getting your specific toy hauler, so that video would be greatly appreciated.
We have this one How to RV State Parks on Limited Hookups: Maximizing Your Water, Power, and Sewer Systems #rvlife th-cam.com/video/v-NHPwZxAr4/w-d-xo.html You might also watch the South Dakota one. First, let me say I love your videos. Honesty. I have a truck camper on an F450. This is great for me, not for everyone. Same with your rig. People should let people live their best life. If they are shaming, they are jealous. 👍 As far as issues with a rig. Hello, it happens with vehicles, houses, tvs, everything build can have issues. It is not manufacturer specific.
I (Darlene) am no editing expert. lol It was so hard to learn just the basics. I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I literally just used the tutorials and searched TH-cam for how to do any specific edit. It was the hardest part of starting the channel. Marc from Keep Your Daydream has a course that’s really helpful. Just go to their website or maybe search “How to start a TH-cam channel” course.
You guys are awesome! I definitely want a toy hauler, with the longer garage (basically the same size as yours), and I LOVE your side patio!! I really like the Brinkley Model G except that it doesn’t have the side patio. 🫤 Did anyone give you any tips or tricks on towing and parking it when you first got it? Or did you figure it all out on your own? Also, Hugo is such a sweet boy! He’s so well behaved! My dog would love hanging out on the patio as well. 😊 One final thought… or request… what if since he usually parks it, you try parking it once? I am also of the mindset, where there’s a will there’s a way, so I know I could do it on my own, but seeing another woman do that whole park the big rig herself thing would give me added confidence! 🙏
I want to eventually drive the rig but it just hasn’t happened yet. I have some anxiety issues that I need to work through. Maybe when we get to some flat areas. lol We just turned to some TH-cam videos on backing in the rig. Barry had driven larger trailers before, so that was helpful. There are driving schools and instructors as well.
Let haters Hate. I do prefer a slightly smaller rig 38 feet but in all reality I just didn't want a dually. If I wanted a dually heck yeah I would do the Toy Hauler. Keep it up love the refreshing perspective.
Good video. We were attracted due to the fact that we just decided on an Alliance toy hauler as well and are building our accessories list which includes the Garmin that you talk about.. A couple of questions for you if you don't mind. On your truck, it looked like you have the BAK Revolver X2 Tonneau Cover, and maybe even the WeatherTech Mud Flaps. Could you let us know what you have and how you like them? Thanks!
That's so exciting! I just added the cover and the flaps to our Amazon store under the category "Truck Stuff". Just be sure to recheck the compatibility with your truck. www.amazon.com/shop/liketheresnotomorrow
I loved this video, and all I’ve seen so far! Thanks for the great info! You mentioned a Garmin, is there one you like best? We are going on a trip with our camper soon, always used Google maps, and it’s been a nightmare before. Haha any help would be appreciated!
Why would anyone care how big YOUR rig is??? Anyways it's your life and your house so you do you! I am looking at toy haulers as an option for going full time, for the same reasons you did. Weight and versatility are the biggest ones, and hopefully being able to put the washer and dryer in the garage. Just tell those trolls that try and shame you that you have more roof space for solar than they do!😊
You say you would consider going smaller, but would you abandon the toy hauler thing entirely? Because toy haulers smaller than about 38' are hard to come by, especially if you are looking for full-time capable quality. I love having a separate space for my 'man cave' stuff so that it doesn't invade and clutter up the main living space. I could squeeze into a 35' toy hauler if I could find a floorplan that was compatible with my needs (I can live with much less space in the kitchen/living room because I'm single), but I can't. It seems like the shortest I can find is really 37.5' or so. I require an 11' or larger garage for my daytime space and I want the loft area for storage. If anyone knows of a 35' 5th wheel toy hauler floorplan that doesn't have a very low-end interior and minimal slides, I'd love to know about it. Or if anyone wants to argue that there is no meaningful difference between 35' and 37'8" in a 5th wheel if they both have dual axles, I'd really love to hear that argument because it would make the choice a lot less fraught - rig length is one of the few things you can't easily modify after purchase.
If we went smaller we would probably go shorter fifth wheel. We wouldn’t do it until we stop working full time and need the two office setup. I also love the airstreams but I wouldn’t do full time in one. Most likely we will be in this rig for a long while. Maybe until we stop full time and do part time. I guess we’ll know when we know.
In my case, the garage will serve as work space, music making space (digital keyboard replaces one couch, desk replaces the other,), and gaming space, plus I keep a motorcycle and bicycle for exercise and commuting around town on. And that rear deck is a considerable expansion of available space and sense of luxury when parked, I think. So I can't see the garage ever becoming truly optional for me. And it seems like anything shorter than 37+' will require a completely custom interior, so I guess I'll just commit to a 38' rig and stop questioning it.
We have a folding table for the outside grill, but honestly, there’s not a place to set it up and eat on inside. We would have to rearrange everything, and if there’s one thing I have learned in two years of travel, if it’s a hassle, we won’t do it. lol
Great video! I do have a honest question. Have you guys weighed your full rig? We are in the researching stage before going full time and debating between a F350 and a HDT to pull a similar size toy hauler (Using as office no toys). Just worried we are going to be overweight. Would much prefer the size and convenience of a F350, but really worried about weight. I know the F350 can pull these no problem, just worried if there was ever an accident and the liability of being overweight. Appreciate your channel, have enjoyed watching most of your videos!
We have been weighed twice. We have about 250 pounds wiggle room. Although, we got rid of our washer dryer combo and the big Onan generator, so I’m guessing we are pretty good. We did shift some weight into the garage after the last weigh showed us a little heavy up front.
@@liketheresnotomorrow Those are definitely heavy items that would make a big difference. Also your shower door. Never thought about the possibility of adding more weight/moving heavier items to the garage in order to lighten the hitch weight. Appreciate the quick response. Thanks!
Cost. Motor homes were out of our range, fifth wheels would be more difficult to create two office spaces. Toyhauler allowed us the room and weight capacity we wanted.
