Just started the online course. After about 36 years of RVing, I'm learning a lot of new things - and I've just gotten through the first part! Todd is knowledgeable but also adds a lot of humour to the course. Already I know it's well worth the money, and I wish I could take the hands on course, but as we are not full-time, that may be a while...Athens, Texas is a long ways from Vancouver, BC, Canada, when you have a full-time job still :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge as well Phil & Stacy - we really enjoy your videos and are also really enjoying RV Unplugged!
Speaking just for myself, I've never had any issues with any of your video, the audio, visual, editing have been top notch, interesting, informative, funny, you two check all the boxes. :)
Sorry about the poor Grammar. I posted it during adult beverage time. :)What money you two did spend on that class Phil took I'm betting will in the long run will more then pay for itself. If it's not being able to do your own repair, he now will know if a tech is trying to BS him.

Nice Video. Really cool to see people wanting to be able to fix/trouble shoot their own stuff. It is tough to find a good repair company! I went to RV school, 20 years in the navy fixing everything on frigates and destroyers! Go Navy!

Phil and Stacy, thank you for making and sharing this video with your fans. I was already registered to attend the basic training in Feb. 2021. I was so glad to hear that Phil got a lot out of the class. It’s good to get an idea of what I’m in store for and the general layout of the school and the rv park. 👍
Jarhead is already signed up for the January 4th class. We are so excited that you did a video on it. Wish we would have been there at the same time as y’all. Thanks for sharing the details and letting us know more about what to expect.
Unbelievably timely for me! Was already planning on going to that school very soon. Thanks for helping me to "seal the deal" on wanting to go and start my own RV repair and pre-inspection business!
Just saw this video and really happy that there is a training school for RV repair and inspection. We just recieved our first RV (2021 Jayco Eagle 334RLOK) on 12/27 but we are still waiting for our 2022 Ford F-250 Lariat FX4. Thank you for doing this video and sharing "Hippie and the Tech" (subscribed).
This sounds sooo great! Speaking of sound, that is my biggest complaint on most U tube channels. I have to keep changing the volume up and down whenever someone changes locations or cameras. Stacey, yours hasn’t been so bad so thank you! I think it’s so great you guys keep learning and improving!! You guys rock!! We are Tiffin owners also! 😁😁
Great video as usual... training classes can be tough that early, except when the end result is you just might save yourself $$$$$. The second enhancement is the knowledge and familiarization of systems in your rig. Boot camp all over again😉. Can’t wait to see all the new camera/production gear added to the overall coach weight... 👍 stay safe happy travels 🇺🇸🏅
I'm a nerd from way back and this class is right up my alley. Hope you folks are getting something out of referrals because I just signed up for the home study course and said that I heard about it from you. I also plan to make the trip for the in-person class as soon as practical.
I recall a recent video where Stacy correctly implied that us guys just can't avoid spending money on our gadgets. Seems Stacy may have the same issue after watching this. Gadgets are very addicting. Just picked up my coach from Red Bay and brought it back to Houston. While waiting on the repairs, my Amazon cart amazingly got full. It's Phil's fault for pointing me to your site where you list your RV gear. Great videos......keep em coming. Go Navy!
Stacy, your videos are GREAT! We know you always want to improve and learn as we do but changing your system is not really necessary! We love your videos! We watch a lot of RV videos and you and Phil are our favorite!
Phi and Stacy great job as usual. This looks like it would have a huge amount of benefits. We looked online and they actually have an at home course if you can't get to the school. Thanks so much for sharing. Lynn and Danny

I’m sorry that so many rude people have used your wonderful platform to spout off their political views!!! This is not the form for this and they should all be ashamed of themselves!
I took the class right after yours. Don't feel bad, Phil. I just retired and like you, the electrical part is like a new lanquage to me. I will study the material I took home and with TH-cam instructions I will go back to the school. Acsolutely great instructors. Very knowledgable.
I called Monday to get the low down on the cost etc. Mentioned I saw y’all’s video. Thanks fo the information plan to take the courses sometime in the spring. I retire from the fire service in two weeks and we have been full time for a year now. Safe travels and hope to see y’all on the road........

Good video y’all as far laying out money and potential tools as a full timer could be worth it if you taking the course for a career path definitely worth it
Only recently subscribed due to being in the early throws of purchasing an Allegro Breeze here in Australia but much as I love your informative videos it's like listening to someone speaking a different language. So many of the terms you use are so foreign to us Aussies, " Boondocking " I can only think would be what we would call " Free Camping " but there are so many other terms I have no idea about. The RV America scene is much more advanced than here in Aus a Breeze is really the largest coach here except for some converted 40 ft buses. Keep up the good work but maybe more worldly explanations.
We will try to be a little clearer on the terminology in the future. We have seen the Breezes being built for the Australia market and they are pretty sweet. Great choice!
Yes, This school will become a ‘Must Do’ when we retire, maybe even before we get our RV so we are well prepared. Thank you for posting! #GoNavy #BeatArmy
You also want to keep a good selection of tools with you weather you know what you're doing or not. If you dont know how to repair an item, someone else may and have your tools to works with.
I have considered attending the 4-day FMCA RV maintenance class. From your excellent video the FMCA course appears much more basic than the RV Tech School. Of course, there is no certification at the FMCA course.
I'm a mechanic by trade and I do work on my own coach and my friends coaches, however I would like to take the course to better myself. Love you guys and can't wait to meet you someday. If your ever in Naples fl look me up. Have a nice day.
Congratulations on lifelong learning. And you will undoubtedly save $$ in the long run because things happen and there are a lot of integrated systems in an RV. Better videos!? OK!! Be safe and enjoy!

Thanks for the video guys, not sure I'll be taking the course (I've learned a lot at the school of hard knocks) but for those who are complete neophytes it looks like something worthwhile. Keep the good stuff coming.
Would like to see a video of some must have tools to carry with you. Tools that will help you diagnose/fix most common problems or to get you to a service center.
A good multimeter, manometer, a set of nut drivers, and screwdrivers. Is a great start. There are some great Todd’s cool tools list once we get started. ;)
Love the fact that you are like a kid riding his bike to school. But please be safe, and wear your helmet ⛑ ! Hate for your noggin’ to get squashed in an accident or fall.
Hi Phil, Ok , you have me wondering why it’s good to turn off propane to refrigerator while traveling. What i ways told is that’s what it’s for. Thanks for your great video
Thank you for sharing this video. I have been interested in this type of training for my personal knowledge. This school was on the top of my list, but I didn't know much about it from a student perspective. Thanks Again!
Glad to hear your opinion. I'm looking at the online option and doing in person in the spring or summer. Might as well put my time wrenching on our uncle's aircraft to some use.
ha..ha...ha....i got u this time buddy. At the very first of your video I knew if I watch the entire video it would cost me big bucks soooo..... I decided to turn it off, BUT before I did I saw the part about learning the video editing and stuff. Now if that guys teaches classes on that I'm hooked. Meanwhile even if I know your video is great I'm going to have to wait for your next one. Thank you guys for all the things you do. I know putting these videos together is not a 3 or 4 hour project.
Me being an ASE Master Tech The first thing they should have taught you was safety. Not one shot did I see anybody wear safety glasses while working on batteries. Believe me, you DO NOT want to be around a battery when it blows up. Been there and done that.
I hear you I've been a tech for 37yrs and can't believe how long winded this training is and the cost is just ridiculous . I've spotted a lot of safety points that they don't even touch on.
Hey Phil-Lee-O..... I didn’t realize you’re a movie star..... lol. I searched NRVTA and found their video from a week ago with you headed to the big Red Barn for some schooling.... great job brother! 🇺🇸
Another great video, something I’ve always wanted to attend! Thanks for all the tips and pointers! Thank you again, we look forward to your Sunday am videos! Mark and Pj Chicago
I’m watching the video right now it’s got lots of good info. I was wondering about the COVID precautions that were in place. I saw Phil getting a temp check but no one was masked that I saw in the video and not always socially distanced. Thanks for any info you can provide
The school follows the guidelines of the city of Athens. Many people chose to wear masks although they were not required. If you dont want to attend in person check out the online version.
You guys are awesome and inspiring. I’m single been hesitant but after listening I’m moving forward and looking forward to the future. I plan on attending. What brand clamp meter is recommended?
Awesome info. I would like for both of us to be able to attend classes like these. I loved your intro! You guys are so great. Thanks for sharing! ❤️Jane from SC...have a great Thanksgiving!🦃
The Big Red School House made such a difference for us! Our story is emotional and very positive! It’s a great place and we look forward to going again for CE! #milesfrommondayrvinspections
Interesting...we embark into our fulltime adventure going to Florida as my hubby is going to the RV School there. Their course is a full 10 weeks. He will be a certified RV Tech coming out of this school. This school is approved for his GI Bill. We hope to be going to the Tampa RV Show in January and hopefully meeting several of the fulltimers there and maybe you if you are there.
Wish i could do this but $$$$ just don’t have money but would really help me being a Veteran but i will just fix my rig and i do my best to fix things for my Rv .
Such a great video!!!!! My husband is very interested in this Tech School!!!! Love all your video's because you share so much great information thanks so much!!!😊
What an incredible amount of work you have put together. WOW!👍👍 We just discovered you two on TH-cam. Ruby is a beautiful girl. We are retired and only part time rv'ers and that mostly in Canada or the west. We are 5th wheelers based in Central Oregon. This summer, COVID 19 allowing, we are going cross country to the North Carolina coast via the central U.S., and returning via the northern tier states. We found you guys researching that trip, so thanks a lot, happy travels and you have two followers who love the content. Ken & Kerry
i hope the Army Navy game does go on. But, Here is something that is sad. I’m an AF ACADEMY graduate, my two brothers are West Point and Annapolis graduates, and we don’t follow our teams at all. 😒. I think attending the RV Tech academy is something I’d like to do in a couple of years. Do you get a bonus when people attend based upon your referral ?? I hope so! I’ve been enjoying your channel for a year now. Looking forward to your videos where you fix Ruby!
I got a paid apprenticeship starting with absolutely no experience. They hooked me up with free beginner tools and I get certified along the way. So in my instance school was not worth it.
We have three recent graduates of a HVAC tech school that we hired. None of them could explain the refrigerant cycle. This was a $20,000 class they completed. Two weeks in shop class everything else was virtual learning. These young men have a large debt for almost no return on investment. This should be against the law.
Ok. Can you make one of these WITHOUT being sponsored by RVTA? Because I really would like to know an unbiased opinion of "Life AFTER Class". After the Honeymoon, How much customer demand is there for This certified Tech position? Actual demand, not "Oh, Yea! there is a demand, the industry is in desperate need". I mean- Real calls, Is business slow? Do they have trouble obtaining a home life? The good the Bad, The Ugly. Interview past students, get their take after a year in the field. How did they do? How Busy are they? do they travel across country and fix RVs in the campgrounds they stay at? do they stay in a fixed location? How does those two things compare? What are their regrets? Have they done better financially compared to their previous career? What was that Career? That sort of thing. I want to know the things that RVTA doesn't want known... This way, anyone planning to attend this career path can make a more informed decision as to what they are getting into before dropping a wad of cash down and finding out later that this little niche is saturated and clients are hard to come by... Thanks, But also Congratulations on completing and achieving your certification..
My buddy has taken all the classes except one, the generator class, and he is working every weekend(he still employed) on RV's. He is doing exactly what he wants.
Why don't you contact RVTA and ask them for referrals from previous students to ask all those questions? Why would you think RVTA would be hiding anything? Ie. do your own research if you're so concerned. Phil & Stacy provide so much great info already.
I think I have looked at this school before as I plan my escape. Can't remember the name, but I was also looking at a school down by Tampa Bay that would let me use my GI bill. I think they were a 10 week course.
OooooMG.... what a great video. As an Active duty (Army) transitioning service member..... your video has opened my eyes to an amazing future career option. Living FT in my Jayco Seneca 37HJ, I am always curious about this and that but with a course like the courses offered at NRVTA I could make money while I travel the country FT as a retired Veteran. Thanks so much for the video and one last thing.... GO ARMY BEAT NAVY! 😂🇺🇸
LOL....it was eye opeing to us, the amount of folks who lost their jobs due to COVID and were now jumping in the RV space. There is such a need for both repair techs and inspectors. GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!
We still have so much to learn. We did follow the counties rules and ordinances while we were there. Mask were not required, however we did wear them when we felt the need too.
It was good to see a full class. The RV field is indefinitely in need of good techs and inspectors. It seems the older we get the more we enjoy school.
I took their flash drive course six months ago (full time solo) and I keep their information handy! It is a lot of information and I worked on it two hours a day during initial covid and now I have the tools to do more troubleshooting and problem solving when something “tweaks”! I would still love to go for the week long class to be more capable but this has been a wonderful stop gap until I CAN get there!
Great to hear!

Sounds great . We are just getting started into this RV world
Thanks for doing this review/assessment of the NRVTA. Been looking to go either next year, or more like '22 at this point. :)
Hey Phil-Lee-O..... I didn’t realize you’re a movie star..... lol. I searched NRVTA and found their video from a week ago with you headed to the big Red Barn for some schooling.... great job brother! 🇺🇸
Very cool!
Another great video, something I’ve always wanted to attend! Thanks for all the tips and pointers! Thank you again, we look forward to your Sunday am videos! Mark and Pj Chicago
Any time!
Beautiful drone shots. Loved those.
Thanks a lot but those were thanks to Hippie and the Tech
Great school!! RV owners get educated!! GBYAY
I’m watching the video right now it’s got lots of good info. I was wondering about the COVID precautions that were in place. I saw Phil getting a temp check but no one was masked that I saw in the video and not always socially distanced. Thanks for any info you can provide
I was concerned about this too.
The school follows the guidelines of the city of Athens. Many people chose to wear masks although they were not required. If you dont want to attend in person check out the online version.
@@todayissomeday thanks for the additional info
This is why we have >1m new cases/day. No common sense or caring about others displayed here by the county, city, the school or those attending.
You guys are awesome and inspiring. I’m single been hesitant but after listening I’m moving forward and looking forward to the future.
I plan on attending.
What brand clamp meter is recommended?
You can do it!
Happy Thanksgiving, Phil and Stacy!
Same to you!
Great video. I can see the training would be very beneficial.
I think so too!
Any investment in yourself for knowledge is priceless!
Awesome info. I would like for both of us to be able to attend classes like these. I loved your intro! You guys are so great. Thanks for sharing! ❤️Jane from SC...have a great Thanksgiving!🦃
Thanks so much!!
Glad you are working on making better videos but I already think you do great stuff. Also excellent review of the course
I appreciate that!
I'm retired, and still working, Im up at 7am with the alarm!
That is awesome! We wont be at the show this year.
This is a very unique and entertaining video! I would like to empty my brain of the year I studied calculus and refill it with RV Tech School wisdom.
Heard Dawn dish soap and Boraxo is good for black tank function you'll have to look it up on google
We use that exact method
Wish i could do this but $$$$ just don’t have money but would really help me being a Veteran but i will just fix my rig and i do my best to fix things for my Rv .
Thank you so much for sharing your lives and adventures.
Our pleasure!
Such a great video!!!!! My husband is very interested in this Tech School!!!!
Love all your video's because you share so much great information thanks so much!!!😊
Awesome! Thank you!
This video was so informative. Thank you so much for taking the time necessary to put it all together. Safe travels . . .
Glad you enjoyed it!
What an incredible amount of work you have put together. WOW!👍👍
We just discovered you two on TH-cam.
Ken & Kerry
Thanks for finding us. Getting out when you can is better than not getting out. Hope to see ya out here.
Woah!!! Go Army, Beat Navy!!!! Hahaha! Great vid!
i hope the Army Navy game does go on.
As usual, yet another GREAT video!!!
Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Our pleasure!
We do not plan to become a tech so we cant help you with this part. If we become an inspector we can give you an after on that.
Great video. I absolutely would like to attend this class before we go full time.
You should!
Smart of you both to want to get smarter. So important to really understand your rig and technology. But, no masks on anyone?? Any place??
We still have so much to learn. We did follow the counties rules and ordinances while we were there. Mask were not required, however we did wear them when we felt the need too.
I would love the opportunity to attend this training...but I don’t have to get the square head haircut,do I? 🤣🤓🤣
The new requirement is a bald head. Enjoy the class!
@@todayissomeday : Well, in that case, I'm already most of the way there! ;-D
Thanks for the great information.
You bet!
Congratulations and go Navy!!!!
