I'm doing this just after my 1 month old finished nursing and nothing is coming out. Is that normal if babe isn't latched? If i squeeze closer to the nipple, a ton comes out. He just nursed for 50 minutes on one side and it didn't empty me. He did fall asleep though. Is he just using me as a pacifier?😅
Use natural herbs fenugreek and blessed thissle work wonders. Often you can buy them in tablets specially made for increasing milk supply. Make sure to use the maximum dose. It helped me to produce enough milk for my twin babies!
Dr. Jack Newman's instructions are quite different. He does not suggest you squeeze and let go, squeeze and let go in a "pumping" fashion. He instructs that when baby is nibbling and not drinking, the mother compresses and HOLDS while baby drinks. When baby rests, the mother releases the hold (compression).
@@PrenatalYini Exactly. There is no need when baby is actively drinking on it's own as with a let-down. Which is different than a baby (who is having weight issues, falls asleep, low milk supply, prolonged feedings, etc.) who is not drinking but just nibbling (often at the end of a feed). But, as you will see in Newman's many videos, he says when the baby is nibbling but not drinking (on his/her own) compress and HOLD the breast and the baby will start drinking. When the baby rests (stops drinking), relax the hand (release the compression). When the baby starts sucking again, compress and HOLD again. Dr. Newman addresses it in his book - Breastfeeding as does LLL - Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. "Compress - HOLD. When the swallowing [drinking] stops, release your hold to allow more milk to flow into the area you were compressing, then compress again."

Doesn't work for me. I compressed without thr baby at the breast to see if any milk comes out. None 😔
This technique won’t work unless baby is at breast or you’re pumping. Try hand expressing. th-cam.com/video/3CyVvFcL1MY/w-d-xo.html
Is it possible for it not to work? I had no change in baby's suckling when I did the technique
If baby is not responding to breast compressions, offer the other breast.
Thank you, so helpful!!!!
You have a lovely calming voice. Thank you for the advice!

Is it OK to use feeding bra while breast feeding?
Hi I want to ask you how to increase breast milk supply??

I recall Dr. Newman stating breast compressions should NOT be done when a baby is drinking on his/her own.
