Thanks for the video mate - i work as a gardener, so my headphones get a tonne of sweat thru them, and smelled RANK after 2 monthes. The butter knife trick worked well, I now have fresh earmuffs and foams. Massive thanks!
I thought i was going to have to throw them out until i found this video showing you can remove the ear cushions. I actually bought another brand headset but at least il have a backup now. I use them at my job at an airport where it tests the limits of the headset for noise. I used earplugs for many years while working there but after i used this headset for the last 3 years, it is night and day difference. I just bought some gels though cause that plexy stuff or whatever it came with fell apart finally and i rather have better cushions this time around.
@@ButchHolladay I have the Peltor Soundtraps. trying to press the out with my thumb took way to much pressure, twisting the butter knife took pressure but not that much, then they popped off. only the second set of batteries so far. so pretty tight still.
Thank you for making this video! I wear glasses, and I never had a comfort issue with my 3M Pro-Grade Earmuff. But I find the WorkTunes to be really uncomfortable! I'm about to order the 3M Peltor Gel as you recommend. I think the reason the WorkTunes hurt more is because they have the hard speaker in the center. *Do you have suggestions on where to purchase the sherpa fleece inserts/padding?* I think that could really help me. Thank you again!!
oh no problem. Well I now recommend sheepskin fur. You can find it pretty cheap at an auto parts store. just make sure it's not too thick... Sheepskin has that healing factor, not too hot in summer. Used in all kinds of stuff. The gels may get your ears warm but not sheepskin. You'll just have to cut it to size, just under the size of the ear cushion's plate. You can use it to trace it out on the back of the sheepskin when your done taking the other fabrics out. A sharpie works great. But fuzz will fly as your cutting it. It goes everywhere of there's a breeze.
I have vinyl ear seals on my WorkTunes and they are worn out and I'd like to replace them with a new set of vinyl. What model number would those be? When I search for replacement ear seals I'm overwhelmed with choices and I'm not sure which ones actually fit on WorkTunes.
No can't say I have. You'll have to give 3M a call and get them to replace them for you. Also email Terri, terri.bybee@mmm.com or Lloyd at lcjones@mmm.com and they can help you.
Thank you so much! Still helping people 4 years later! Really appreciated
Not a problem, ty for that.

Thank you for this! I was struggling to take it off for about five minutes, and took off the ear cups first try with the first method!
Glad it helped.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The only place I could find that showed me how to replace these without tearing them all apart.
Glad it helped...so did you do a video on the headset or just needed help?

Thank u sir. .. Well done.

Need to call 3m
Thank you! The instructions that come with the replacement pads are terrible.
No problem.
What's on the head band part?
Its a headband wrap by US Tactical Sewing , its velcro and cushioned ... I use it to hold the wire running from one ear piece to the other.
