I’ve been making this chutney for years now.. even without the tamarind it comes out superb every time... it’s a quick fix for dosa when I’m out of coconut..

Great recipe. I used sesame seeds instead of cashews like you suggested, but also added 2 inches of fresh ginger and 3 green chillies to the blender along with a pinch of citric acid. It was fabulous and lip-smacking!

I tried your Saag recipe and loved it. I took (Ginger, Onion and Sauteed it.) (I blended the spinach before hand in my Nutrabullet with a little water instead of blending it after cooking the spinach. I then added the blended spinach to the sauce pan and let it heat up. (I couldn't find access to Mustard Leaves, but keen to try! I found both work excellent. After the Ginger and Onion Sauteed I poured in the spinach mixture and added Coconut Secret Nectar and Garam Masala to taste. I then served it like that. I've been experimenting with making a quinoa kind of bread to have with it. (1/2 of cup of quinoa cereal blended with a 1/2 cup of water Nutrabullet) Then line 8 inch baking pan with coconut oil and then set oven to 450 degrees. When oil starts to boil add quinoa blended mixture and spread into a circle like a pizza. I then bake this at 20 minutes on one side and then flip over and bake to taste on the other side. I then served this with the Saag. It was delicious. I think a great secret too is to use the left over oil after sautéing vegetables ( I saute summer squash and onions together spiralized with a Paderno in coconut oil and then add a little coconut nectar to add sweetness as well as some Garam Masala I then used the oil left over to bake the crust. It gave it a nice flavor! I'm so inspired by your recipes! I'm looking forward to making the chutney next and kind of using it as a sauce to put over a pizza ( Quinoa crust combined with sautéed summer squash and onion w/ saag or chutney topping! I also want to make your Chapati Bread and have this instead with the Saag or Chutney!

Thank you so much for this awesome chutney. Every word you said about it is true. It literally had me licking the back of the spoon. I love all your recipes. God bless you. But I think you have not mentioned tempering in the video. Nor is it mentioned in description. But I could see that as usual you have given tempering. So I added tempering of mustard seeds urad dal red chillies curry leaves and asafoetida.
