My first favorite Mets player growing up. I was so sad when he left the Mets, but I always followed his career! I am glad the Mets are retiring his number.
I’ve been a Mets fan since 1986. I watched them win the World Series and ultimately became a monster Daryl Strawberry fan. Fast forward to this year and the announced he’s going to have his number retired. It’s always been a dream to go see the Mets play in person so I did it purchased four tickets and taking my family. It’s the most excited I’ve been in years. I can’t wait to be a part of it Go Mets!
Jay, thanks for the interview great job, I have to say you’re the nicest man a kid from DR can ever meet, I played with Darryl in Kingsport great talent and even better teammate, I remember hanging around at Shea in the 80’s there, thank you for everything you are doing for the organization.
Wow, great take. It upsets me thinking about what his true career potential was. However, as a human, it warms my heart, knowing he got his life together and is now helping others. Be happy for him.

People can change. Everyone loves straw!

I wish the addict would just go away. His number should not be retired. It seems the Mets these day are looking for anything to decorate Citi Field.
Go root for the Las Vegas A's.
Why, do they have some silly rule that precludes them from signing drunks and drug addicts?@@dr.manhattan4537
