Enjoyed your reaction. This band hails from a town called Dunfermline in Scotland. Great band and even better live, was lucky enough to see them play many times. Take care and all the best.
If your from Scotland or of Scottish blood lines you know this song and the views of the highlands in there official live music video are outstanding and AC/DC used the pipes in a lot of their songs
@@jockmason5922 I know exactly where that was shot because I have been taken to that place because I live in Dorset. It doesn’t really look like that anymore. There are more buildings now but still open pieces of land.
Nice reaction video. Big Country was popular in the eighties and are a great band. "Fields of Fire" is another great song you should check out. Stuart Adamson was the lead singer and guitarist and wrote most of their lyrics. He unfortunately is no longer with us. He struggled with Alcohol throughout his life and died when he was only 43. The band formed in Scotland in 1981.
The guitars were made to sound like bagpipes. It was their signature sound. Stuart was from Dunfermline, Scotland. I'd recommend Fields Of Fire and Chance 👌
You have to hear their song Alone. The singer, Stuart Adamson committed suicide over depression and listening to that song you can hear the pain he was in. So powerful and sad. Amazing song, probably their best.
Hi sweetheart. Thank you so much for doing this video. I grew up listening to Big Country. The band is originally from Scotland and unfortunately the lead singer took his own life. I don’t know when but he did struggle with depression which I thought was such a waste of a brilliant talent. A fantastic band if you were an 80s kid. LOL. You are one of the very few that I have seen reacting to this band. Thank you for doing what you do because you do it so well. Please take care of yourself and blessings to you from the UK.
This is a Scottish musical group, just so you know. This song in particular came out in the mid 1980s,and I absolutely love this one,I think you'll like it!.John M Guinto
Porrohman is brilliant, chance is my favorite track I was lucky to see them before Stuart Adamson died, Mark Brzezicki is still one of the best drummers I've ever seen
Yes, they are Scottish. but they do not have any bagpipes. What they do have is guitars that are strung and amplified to sound like bagpipes. This is the only band I know that has tweaked their guitars to sound like bagpipes.
They are Scottish. Check out their album Steeltown especially the first 3 songs, Flame of the West, East of Eden, Steeltown. There is also a song called Lost Patrol with some really great drumming.
One of my favorite things about 80s new wave was how catchy the choruses often were. An era of constant ear-worms. If you haven't yet, you should check out Duran Duran. Start with the album Rio, and the song Hungry Like the Wolf. I loved that album when I was a little kid in the 80s (and still do). Also, Tears for Fears' album Songs From the Big Chair. Maybe start with Shout from that album.
Loved seeing you react to something great from the 80s. Definitely has such anthemic feeling to it and this song is so hard charging! You look gorgeous as ever! React to their song “Fields of Fire” too! You’ll enjoy it! 👍👍✌️✌️
My idols, my hometown heroes and my friends BIG COUNTRY! Yes they are Scottish but NO it definitely is NOT bagpipes you are hearing, not at all. I knew singer, guitarist and songwriter Stuart Adamson well for almost 20 years. What you are actually hearing here is inspired by the tones of Scottish folk music which is actually played on fiddle and accordion, definitely NOT BAGPIPES! They are a military instrument here in Scotland essentially a weapon of war and Stuart was absolutely the most anti war human being who ever lived so that description (ur far from the first don't worry lol) truly upset him and the band. They have almost 20 years worth of incredible music behind them, I would recommend Chance or Look Away or Peace In Our Time or East of Eden or Where The Rose Is Sown, the last of those highlighting Stuart's feelings on war and the military perfectly. Thank you so much from here in their hometown Dunfermline for choosing to highlight my great friend's incredible music, so happy you enjoyed it. ❤🏴❤
I saw them in concert. 😂
R.I.P. William Stuart Adamson. Left us with one of the greatest songs in music history. Truly a great.

AC/DC have bagpipes in only one song, far from "alot".
This video was shot in Dorset not Scotland, plus their guitars give the sound of bagpipes. No actual bagpipes are used

I’m sure if Stuart was alive today, Big Country would have had a second wind, and easily have had sell out tours, RIP Stuart 🙏😇
"I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert, but I can look and breathe and see the sun in Winter time."
I love this line.
It's LIVE and breathe, but yes a great line from an astounding songwriter. 😀
Remember when this tune came out. It was just so different it made it cool. It's still cool.

I heard this song at work a few times and it's definitely an 80's classic. 15/10
Such an iconic song. From the drums to the bag pipes.
Great songs from Big Country:
Steel Town
Where The Rose Is Sown
East Of Eden
Fields Of Fire
Wonderland
Look Away
Just a shadow!!!!
i thought this was the coolest thing i had ever seen when I first saw it as a kid on MTV
I love big country, still on the go and sound fantastic to this day,big country till I die,xxx
My favorite 80s band. You should check out “Fields of Fire” and “Wonderland.”
Porrohman is brilliant, chance is my favorite track

Check out their song " Chance " if you are looking for more from Big Country ....... Great Reaction .

I was going to say the same thing. The only song that I know of that actually has bagpipes in it is "It's A Long Way To The Top" by AC/DC.
Nope, not bagpipes. Stuart was a friend for many years, please check my main comment thanks 😀
RIP Stuart Adamson
Reminds me of my HS days .it's been a minute since I heard big country .
They are Scottish. Check out their album Steeltown especially the first 3 songs, Flame of the West, East of Eden, Steeltown. There is also a song called Lost Patrol with some really great drumming.
The Flys.... Got you where I want you
another one for your books! 😁
Still beautiful, Beautiful!
If you like this, then their Just a Shadow should hit home.

Love your musical diversity! Great reactions throughout 😊
I didn't know you were into 80s. ❤

no bagpipes , just guitar with effect
the album "the crossing" is a masterpiece
This is a "damn shame" band...there was so much untapped talent, here.
He used a guitar effect to simulate a bag pipe.
If you like bagpipes in rock, you need to listen to Slade "Run Run Away"
No pipes. That was guitar. But it was meant to sound like pipes hahaha
Pretenders: "Up the Neck" (self-titled 1st album) and/or Eric Clapton "Let it Rain" fom his first solo album.
Big Country's bassist was in the Pretenders for awhile. The dude with the fro flying thru the air in Back on the Chain Gang.
Good 👍
Cool
Not bagpipes. An E-Bow . An electromagnet that chamges rhe sounds on metal strings.
I know. I have one.
👍
I would love to see you react to The Carpenters song Superstar. You will be as moved as you were by The Bee Gees. I promise
No bagpipes...that was all guitars...
👏👏👏👍👍👍🙌⭐🌟🙋
Hi! I recommend anything by SOFT KILL❤
Scotland.
